Could you dehydrate the plums or make fruit straps out of the plums ? This is such a great haul. Loved hearing that the kids love the treats like muesli bars
Tonkutsu sauce in great, its like a Japanese bbq sauce but made from fruit. Generally served over crumbed pork or chicken. We serve it with fried rice and crumbed chicken with mayo as well.
Hi Nyssa, that is a great hamper you got this month. The plums look really good too. Those are well worth the money. Glad you are able to get them each month. Great video TFS!!❤️
Wow all the way out in Australia and I see Prime. Everyone is going nuts here for them. I'm in Upstate NY. I work at my brother's Beer Beverage store 2x weekly, and I have 2 kids. I am constantly restocking Prime and the kids also are asking for it. They make a juice only prime and an energy drink one for clarity. IDK why they are so popular all of a sudden, but it's cool to see them in Australia.
Great hamper! Don't you make a plum BBQ sauce as well? That always sounds so tasty when you mention it. Can't wait for the food prep videos! Take care!
That was cute that the dogs were happy to see you in the yard haha. That hamper is excellent for the price. The plums look good. My mum had plums trees in our backyard when I was a kid. Yum.
Hehe, they love when you spend time in the yard with them, but they get over excitable and will all try and get your attention at once lol! The kids spend a fair bit of time out there with them, we need some seating for under the trees I think, but at the moment they have an old couch they use for seating which isn't really suitable for human seating lol.
Theres an abundance of plums here too at the moment. Great haul. Yes, those zucchinis wouldn't have waited, im sure youre glad theyre done now . Future delicious food to be made for next to nothing with them . Thanks for sharing lovely ❤❤
Nyssa don't apologize for taking your time with the videos they are always great 👍👍👍 Plums my favourite and so versatile, looking forward to seeing what you do with them👏👏👏👏👏❤️As always a pleasure to watch Love from the UK x
Plum crumble would be amazing and you can freeze it, also plum jam and plum sauce for chicken (it's usually used for duck) plum bbq sauce. I always look forward to seeing what you do with the food. Oh plum ice cream?
We have Asian plum sauce and plum bbq on the shelf still from last plum season! I got a little overzealous obviously lol, but I think plum jam is definitely on the cards!
Wow a great shop of food from the Aberdeen pantry.. my Auntie made worcestershire sauce from dark plums and jam.. Maybe the kids would enjoy a plum pie??. The pastry & cream corn pies (whatever you call them) on your last video looked amazing. You can also bread if you haven't any pastry.. looking forward to next post..😊
love a soft fresh plum to eat,, so many uses and ideas to make for future use, jam, bbq sauce and a delicious plum crumble with thick custard...now i,m craving plums lol xx
I made a big batch of plum bbq and Asian plum sauce last year when I had an abundance of plums and I still have a fair bit! But we are definitely low on jam so I think jam will be a good use! I tried using my canned plums for a crumble and the kids just weren’t enamoured, any tips ?
I had a plum tree in my garden and had millions of plums I found hard to use them all but I came across a Mary berry recipe for plum and orange crumble using cooked plums. I have one last bag from my tree in the freezer and plan to make it. ( our tree got some kind of virus last year and had to be removed ☹️) you will get the recipe online or if you want I can pass it on to you to try. That’s some amount of prep you have in front of you! Stoning all those plums 🙈 xx
Great hamper this month. Beautiful plumes! We love them but the cost is pricey in US in my area! I have really missed you! I was not getting your videos!! But I have subscribed again because it could have been glitch on my end.
Someone else was saying they seemed to have been unsubscribed! No idea, my subs fluctuate up and down! Plums can be really cheap this time of year and they’re so tasty!
That was a nice hamper, yes it may be worth getting 2 or more of those next time around, if they include extra items that will help stretch your grocery trip. You may want to go with Daryll next month to see if there is fruits that will help reduce your fruit/veg shop costs.
He could actually call her by video and show her what was available to get input. It might not be ideal to leave kids alone and not ideal if even possible (spacewise) for all to go.
yes, only one of us can go, which is fine, but I just prefer to stay home lol! But we'll have to think hard about what we do for next one to extend this grocery trip out :D
I'm in the state Ohio in the US. I called around to see if we have a pantry like you have...No such luck all of the ones I found are free and I don't really have a need ..But I would definitely want to participate if I could find a pantry to buy from.
I've heard that a few times that most of the US ones are all free, we don't have many free here, though there is emergency food supply for people who really need it, most of it is just a cheaper than grocery store prices bundle here.
I keep meaning to ask how your Tooth is? I remember an infection not long ago I made your pork/shrimp dumpling 🥟 tonight (I ended up deep frying because pan frying did not go so well). They were delicious! Thank you!
There were 6 children in our family and mum could cook anything. Combustion stove. Heat like this family but we had indoor kitchen. That tin of jam was always on bench with a knife in it. Great childhood.
Is it typical in Australia to buy Fruit by the flat like the plumbs? I know we usually get a few apples, plumbs, etc in a small bag. We don't usually get fruit in that large of quantity here in the USA. Also it would be incredibly expensive if we did 😊
No, the general fruit and veg is bought just in small bags, the fruit in the hampers is generally fruit that is close to going off, or misshapen in some way hence being cheap. The boxes I buy in my grocery hauls are from the back room, the owner of the F&V store takes me out into the cold room and I just buy by the box rather than in bags etc from out the front :)
Lol, they know that once its finished they have pretty much free reign, the treats here, once they're gone, they're gone, and they know that too lol...
Thank you Nissa , so appreciate what you can share. Can you share your recipe for plum Worcestershire sauce? I’ve never heard of it and would love to try it. Thank you.
It is a sally wise recipe! :D. sallywise.com.au/recipes/sauces/worcestershire-sauce/ I do have a video where I made it as well last year, if I made any tweaks lol th-cam.com/video/jLYDVxt23vc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rfuzRKBZkh8zdhKS
I did, but I've still got a dozen jars of it, and still have the asian plum sauce too, but we are lacking jam atm, so I think jam will be one of the main things! :D
Yes, when we first moved out we used to get one from Toowoomba, and we stopped getting it because there was so much we wouldn't eat. But now that the kids are older and more tolerant of things we find it better.
I was super spoiled and got a new Ipad Pro 12.9" for Christmas! But prior to that I was using a first gen one that was about 8 years old and it ran everything fine too :D
can you please adopt me because i live in a foster care place and i hate it here and i live in Australia please reply back to me please on this video please
Hey there, I'm sorry you're not in a great position at the moment, and I hope things improve for you! I am definitely not in a position to take anyone else on unfortunately.
That amount of plums would cost a fortune in the US!!! They are my husband's favorite! Can't wait to see what you do with all that deliciousness!
Very lucky to get them! Just have to make sure I use them well :D
What a great haul! With the price of food now, it certainly is a great deal for $50. I wish they were near me.
New subscriber, very interesting to see groceries from another country. I am from the U.S.
I always find it interesting the comparison in styles of shopping and cost :)
I LOVE how you guys call them hampers. I keep telling myself I'm going to call them that, channel my inner Dickens and all, and I always forget
Nice hamper products. It must be exciting to see what is in the hamper each month.
The kids really enjoy it hehe :D
Could you dehydrate the plums or make fruit straps out of the plums ? This is such a great haul. Loved hearing that the kids love the treats like muesli bars

I've seen them online but never in stores, but the kids enjoyed them, I found it sickly sweet!
Last fall (U.S.), I had plums and made a plum jam. Used it for Danish, on pancakes and a filling for cookies. It was wonderful.
Great hamper I agree they have done a good job doing it themselves!

I still have plums in my freezer from last season! Thanks for the reminder that I need to use up some more! 😊
Heh, I’m still learning how much to do of each type of fruit each year to get through to the next but not overdo it!
Wow! That's a huge hamper! Enjoy your week 😊
You are really fortunate to have the hampers that side for such a good price
Very lucky to have access to the service!
Plum Jam-Jelly is amazing ❤
These are such great value, and the plums look yum. Your dogs are so cute 😊

Lovely! There’s nothing like a nice, soft plum! ❤
They're such a lovely fruit.
Yeah so excited for some more nyssa
This is a good box. It seems to be worth it curating your own boxes. Pork in plum sauce would be nice.
Oh yes, my grandmother used to do pork in plum sauce a lot, I think she mixed tomato paste with plum jam, I'll have to figure that one out! :D

The plums look delicious 😊 Great jam and pie making ✔️
Very generous community 📦 box👍
Nice video.
Very grateful for the access to it!
I make a Plum Kuchen. A German cake. My husband’s grandmother from Germany use to make for him.
I shall google! Thank you!
Lookin forward to the food prep!!
I love the hampers! So fun❤
Lots of variety in your hamper this month. I agree with the kids, plums are odd canned. Love them fresh and jam is great.
They go an odd texture I think just canned as is (lightly stewed) I definitely think I'll freeze some and jam some! :D
Nice hamper this month. Thanks for the video 😊
Good variety :D

I LOVE hamper videos..lol
Heh, they’re fun aren’t they!
Good O mini’s!!! They were my dogs favourite and then they went out of stock everywhere down here, I hope they are back :)
We normally buy big 20kg bags from the feed store, so I don't think the dogs have ever tried these hehe :D
I wonder if you could use the plums in some sort of pepper jelly, since you also received the peppers and pre sliced onions?
Sounds like a double batch of worchteshire sauce so you don’t run out.

Asian plum sauce is always a hit!
I canned a bunch up from the last lot of plums that we still have and some plum bbq still too! :)
@@OurSmallFootprint ooh plum bbq sounds delicious too!! I must have missed that video somehow, checking it out now. 🤤

I made your pork/shrimp dumpling 🥟 tonight (I ended up deep frying because pan frying did not go so well). They were delicious! Thank you!
I got the infection under control and its been fine since, it needs some work, but at the moment its ok! I'm glad you enjoyed them! :D
I grew up on plum jam in a tin. I'll pass on that.
Enjoyed your video.
I don't know that I've had tinned plum jam! But we've made it before and the kids really liked it! :D
I remember the tinned plum jam. Didn’t mind it at all. It was cheap.

I don’t understand how you can do it all 😮

Wow!how do u make Dorchester sauce?
I use a sally wise recipe! if you just google it and her name it will come up, she has a bunch of diff versions :)
What did you do with all the zucchini? I have tons coming out of the garden and I’ve run out of ideas 😅
I’ll try and get the video out tomorrow! I made zucchini brownies, zucchini banana cake, zucchini butter and I shredded and froze a whole lot too!
