Architecture is my passion. I love the idea of how a simple idea/concept can come onto a paper, and then into the real world.

    :) cricket
Mr. Fuller: "there's a cricket in here let me take care of that"
Not 3 seconds gone by, cricket is dealt with
Truly the cold, cunning drive of an architect

Line Weight: The contour is executed in B lead; The extension and dimension lines may not be of the same weight: 2H / 3H lead.

Hi Jeffrey. This video was excellent! I would like to re-learn drafting from the ground up. But you have so much awesome content, I am bewildered where to start. I have learned many bad habits, and forgotten much of what I learned in High School. So I'd like to start again, and step by step work up to Vectorworks (which I dabble in now, learned during COVID and promptly forgotten). But I am missing the paper fundamentals. Could you suggest an order that I should watch your videos, starting from the ground up? Assume I was a student, and you wanted to start from scratch. What would be the first 10 or so videos to watch? Much thanks.

Paint the grooves on your design ruler different colors to help quickly identify.

I'm a shop teacher. I found a bunch of old drafting tables stuffed in a closet. I think I'll introduce it this semester.

It is amazing to me that you dont properly draw a line. In drafting you ROTATE your pencil as you draw. You cant possibly maintain proper consistent lines this way. This is like day one lesson of drafting class.

WOW! I HAD TO STOP AFTER YOU DREW THE 4' VERTICAL LINES - TAUGHT DRAFTING FOR 45 YEARS AND YOU INCORRECTLY DREW THOSE VERTICAL LINES ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE TRIANGLE - YOU NEVER DRAW ON THE UNDERSIDE OF A STRAIGHTEDGE OR TRIANGLE - THE CORRECT WAY TO DRAW VERTICAL LINES IS TO FLIP THAT TRIANGLE OVER AND DRAW ON THE UPPER EDGE OF THE TRIANGLE - YOU NEVER DRAW ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THAT STRAIGHTEDGE TO DRAW HORIZONTAL LINES, SO WHY TEACH THEM INCORRECTLY BY DRAWING ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRIANGLE FOR VERTICAL LINES - LOOK IN ANY FIRST YEAR DRAFTING TEXT AND IT SHOW THE CORRECT POSITION OF THE TRIANGLE
ALSO, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHEN YOU DARKEN YOU OBJECT LINES YOU ALWAYS DRAW FROM LEFT TO RIGHT AND TOP TO BOTTOM TO NOT "SMEAR" THE DARKER "H" LEAD - YOUR TECHNIQUE ALL THE LINES WOULD BE SMEARED OVER WHEN YOU DRAW FROM LEFT TO RIGHT - DRAW A LINE AND THEN MOVE THE TRIANGLE TO THE RIGHT SMEARING OVER THE LINE YOU JUST LAYED DOWN - POOR PRACTICE TO TEACH FIRST YEAR DRAFTING STUDENT'S - YOU SHOULD POST A RETRACTION AND MAKE IT RIGHT - WE LEAD BY EXAMPLE AND YOU LEAD THEM DOWN THE WRONG PATH - FIX IT!

WOW - i draw on which ever side of the triangle I want to.- GREAT EXAMPLE FOR ALL THOSE FIRST YEAR STUDENT'S WATCHING THIS VIDEO - DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO - YES OFFICER, "I DRIVE ON WHICH EVER SIDE OF THE ROAD I WANT TO AND AT WHAT EVER SPEED I WANT TO" - NO WONDER THE YOUTH OF TODAY IS "SCREWED UP" WITH LEADERS LIKE YOU JUSTIFYING "ERRORS" WITH " i draw on which ever side of the triangle I want to" - KEEP UP LEADING THE YOUTH OF TODAY

Okay, if you really have to be that way. I teach CAD drafting, hand drawn drafting is not even part of my, or anyone else's curriculum any more. I was taught CAD drafting when I was in school, not hand drafting. I do this especially for my students, just to have a little fun. So get off my channel please.
