Hi! Music major here..... Basically, every octave has 8 notes that correspond to a letter. A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. These notes can be raised up (sharped -> #) or lowered (flatted -> b) individually. That is usually what the black keys on a piano are for but to sharp or flat something you just move it one "half step" (physical piano key) up or down. Because all octaves use these same exact notes, we need a way to differentiate them. Starting with C on the left side all the way to B (C, D, E, F, G, A, B) would be known as the first octave. Once you reach the next C that is the 2nd octave. Middle C (center of any piano and range [usually]) is know as C4. It's the fourth octave. A sharp notes would be written as C#5 or A#3. Twice has survived until now and Nayeon had repeatedly been given Eb5s, D5s, F5s both phrased and belted to sing live. Those are WAY outside her range, especially considering the fact that her lower register is her strongest. Now 8 years in and she is still going strong

they actually use auto tunes for this "live singing" videos. someone already pointed it out in a video on how none of this "live singing" is actually raw. either the backtrack is loud enough to cover their voice or they put on heavy reverb or autotuned or they had an entire voice editing process before it's uploaded. it's a sad truth that the only live singing we can obtain from these kpop idols are when they're actually in a live event like their own concerts or award shows (and they still put a loud backtrack)
