I played this at our local pinball distributor. One of the most enjoyable games I've played. I wish I had the opportunity to get one of the special edition pins. Bravo JJ!
Played the Smaug Gold Edition today at the Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham NH. What a beautifully crafted game. I notice that this Hobbit machine has white rubbers and the Wiz has black. Hands down the use of the LCD screen has evolved to the next level over the Wiz and I found myself much more engaged with the LCD while playing when on the Wiz I mostly ignored it. After a few plays I did not think I was playing a game, it felt like a movie and I was in the middle of it which makes the experience go to another level in pinball overall. Great job Jersey Jack.....and the engineering of the lanes on the left side is great.....on a Stern you hit the middle metal gate and it seems it jumps to the drain everytime.
+TNT Amusements Inc My 10 year old daughter loves the game and in her opinion the game play is better than the WOZ. She did get a like on the tweet from Jersey Jack on our play on the Hobbit that day. I think you can agree Todd that the next release from Jersey Jack collaborating with Pat Lawlor will be HUGE! I am watching out for more news on this one as the year goes along.......
I'm so used to playing games with the dmd on them it looks crazy to see these Jersey Jack games with the big colorful screens. Jersey Jack's games always look pretty sharp.
Todd...Thanks for showing some of its 'Secrets' with us. It is a beautiful game. *QUESTION PLEASE:* That post you added on the left side....does the post come with the game? My very dear friend purchased this exact game (Limited Gold Edition) and we get the 'Stuck Ball' quite often and has to bang on the left side to get it to finally move. So that was my question if it comes with extra parts like this to add to the game. I personally do not know since I just checked out my friend's game yesterday and a LOT of people were there and I did not have the chance to ask my friend about extra parts like that post you added. Thanks again....
Amazing sound. Where does Jersey Jack position the stereo speakers in the cabinet? The woofer's in the bottom of course but I don't see where the left/right speakers are. It would be great if Jack offered a jack to plug in an outside audio source like an mp3 player :)
Phenomenal game! I visited last Saturday, met Frank and had the opportunity to try it out. Your video is great, but in person this game is extraordinary. Thank you. I'm glad I made the trip.
+904PinballZine Excellent point, I found the ball control to be a bit easier than expected and maybe slowed the game down a bit. Overall, the experience is great.
Wow JJ is the real deal! Wizard was great and now this looks very cool. Love to see you guys geek out over something new! Prolly like most of us (I reckon I can only speak for myself though) watching your vids on pins we have never seen in the wild. Great work as always!
That Smaug looks so sharp with all his gold treasure and those red glowing eyes! Also those monitors they're putting in these games are really sharp. And wow, QR codes in a pinball game...who would have thought? Welcome to the future I guess haha
Just watched this video and your munsters. Suppost to buy one or the other tomorrow and I cannot decide!! Help me choose haha. Also the dragons mouth does not move is that a major issue if i choose to purchase hobbit?
Yes Todd! I have been waiting for you to unbox this game! Definitely one to get as I love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Thanks for your quick review and tip to change the coil strength and adding the post to help guide the ball. CONGRATS on passing 12,000 SUBS! Well deserved!
I stayed for the whole video loved the end. what an end credits song good job Geoff! why did you stop with the ending scene of the gentleman Todd telling pll to get out and slamming the door Todd? I really like that flare at the end of every review. will you be bringing it back but maybe with other employees donning the guise? would be awesome to see Frank or Wallace try their hand at taking a crack at the persona :D
+lewiston maineiac Actually, Bally made one in 78, then Data East in 89, and Stern in 2002.A 4th one was being planned for the Williams Pinball 2000 platform...but only artwork was done.
Yeah I know, TNT has not had El Dorado City Of Gold, the pinball machine for decades. And it is not listed in the 1989 catalog that lists the machines and its prices.
Its $600 to ship overseas including insurance and the special heat treated pallet...to a seaport nearest your city. You pick up there or arrange delivery. Remember you will have duty or VAT tax too.
nice but I guess I'm a purist growing up in the late 70s playing pinball in grammar school, I can't get used to the LCD monitor back box , as someone posted here it looks like a modern video slot machine , for the last few years regular and video slot machines have had their back glass replaced by an LCD monitor which I guess saves money though there is a cost in the monitor it allows them to retheme a slot machine via software and make it into an entirely different machine versus a traditional back glass, it loses it's traditional feel which for me it's the same with the JJP games. Perhaps s smaller LCD monitor would be nice, larger than a standard DMD but no more than 1/4 of the back box, perhaps the size of the larger DMDs found on a few Data East pins such as Baywatch. thanks as always for the videos. boy do I miss walking thru an arcade lined with pins on each side.
+hushdrops Yes....some people perfer the older score wheels, others like just the digits, others love the dot matrix displays, and other the LCD....so there is plenty to go around!! I think a nice mix is good!
TNT Amusements Inc Thanks for fast awnser :) How would you say the gameplay is, is it deep so you dont get boored after a couple games ? Cheers and thanks again for a great youtube channel
I 'liekd' it too... but not enough to put tongue to screen! ;) hope all is well @ the TNT family and am still thankful for my dedication and being re-baptised into Pinball!
+TNT Amusements Inc I ran down my battery to kinda calibrate the thing so thats not happening just yet. sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't depends on both the screen or the tv. I've tried off the tv with that Transformers Home Use only one you had a few years ago never could get the app to work. But the one on the video is rather big. Wish we had these new pins around. Just hard to find an arcade to go to. The malls used to have them but one way across down is bankrupt so last time I was there it was minigolf in UV :( Local mall here is practically dead. Don't know why people hate malls. Nice rainy day I'd rather just stay in one.
I played this one at a local place and Maybe it's just me, but i found this one kinda boring and slow. Not a big fan of the video screen additions. I can't be watching the ball and the screen doing it's own thing. That's just me.
yes...most people do like the visuals...but there are so many other games to play...so there's something for everyone! It is also helping interest others in Pinball who never tried it before!

Wow! What an absolutely beautiful game!
Thank you for covering it. It's really appreciated.
+Hendrik Hendrikson Thank you Hendrik!

Hi! No...it does not come with the game...you would have to buy it...but the place he bought the game from may supply it at no cost, like we did!
Best pinball table, LOVE IT ❤️
Very nice! I couldn't help but notice a 1981 Jungle Lord in the background. I just bought one today, my first and can't wait to get it home!
yes...still have another in warehouse too
how do you see top scorers in game..usually most pins have status report when hold down one flippers?
Absolutely beautiful machine!

+Jim Barry Hi Jim....Maybe you will get one from us!
Amazingly beautiful game, well done Jersey Jack, well done.
+Bo88y Beretta AGreed!
To me it plays like the flow of an early wide-body solid state game but with modern stuff on it :)
+904PinballZine Excellent point, I found the ball control to be a bit easier than expected and maybe slowed the game down a bit. Overall, the experience is great.

+lennymutt The game is simply a knockout!
Just watched this video and your munsters. Suppost to buy one or the other tomorrow and I cannot decide!! Help me choose haha.
Also the dragons mouth does not move is that a major issue if i choose to purchase hobbit?
ALL the machines we sell come with our lifetime phone support! Let me look up when you got the Hobbit from is so we can get this addressed!
How many Hobbit -Gold Smaug editions did Jersey Jack make? And how many Black Arrow editions?
They are mum on production numbers, just like Stern!
Yes Todd! I have been waiting for you to unbox this game! Definitely one to get as I love The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Thanks for your quick review and tip to change the coil strength and adding the post to help guide the ball. CONGRATS on passing 12,000 SUBS! Well deserved!
+Top Tier Arcade You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video!

+AndYAce indaface I understand one designed by pinball legend Pat Lawlor!
+TNT Amusements Inc wow how can that get wrong.. movie theme maybe?

+David Serafin AGreed!

TNT Amusements Inc
OUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH!
hey guys would you rather have the wizard of oz pinball or the hobbit pinball please tell me!!
Both are beautiful...and completely different themes...so thats a hard one!
Big Big Fan. Wish Jersey Jack would come out with a Adult Only x Rated pin. Tilt It!
+lewiston maineiac Glad you like our channel...Jersey Jack is committed to producing family friendly pinball machines....so that will never happen!
Big Big Fan (hmmm) wonders if building one would not make you family friendly ???. Someone did make a playboy Machine once.. Tilt It!
+lewiston maineiac Actually, Bally made one in 78, then Data East in 89, and Stern in 2002.A 4th one was being planned for the Williams Pinball 2000 platform...but only artwork was done.
I really hope jersy jack do a lord of the rings pinball so we can have both with jersey jack video screen.
Yeah I know, TNT has not had El Dorado City Of Gold, the pinball machine for decades. And it is not listed in the 1989 catalog that lists the machines and its prices.
+Nicholas Serio One may turn up...look for the original EL DORADO in our new Pinfest 2016 video posting tonight!
Can you ship to the uk and how much does it cost?
Its $600 to ship overseas including insurance and the special heat treated pallet...to a seaport nearest your city. You pick up there or arrange delivery. Remember you will have duty or VAT tax too.
it is a beautiful game indeed but to me there seems to be too much white towards the bumpers maybe could use some other colors in there perhaps.
+dvddmc Thats an idea to try with next one we get in!
+TNT Amusements Inc maybe yellow like for gold perhaps.
So many gadgets!
+RetroGeet Yes!!
if thats the gold edtion it needs gold foil sides that would set it off even more
Not sure if they offer different color packages.
I'm dying to see the new Pat Lawlor game; it seems like it's been in development forever. I hope it's worth the wait!
Its gonna be a great game...thats for sure!
This game should be so much better. Smaug should interact with the ball.

I 'liekd' it too... but not enough to put tongue to screen! ;)
hope all is well @ the TNT family and am still thankful for my dedication and being re-baptised into Pinball!
I was wondering, Is there a pinball machine for Doom?
+soul71000 There is not...I doubt one will be made.
Can you please tell me witch verison of the song in the beggining of the video is ?
The opening is Howard Shore's theme music probably from the Soundtrack Album...I got it from TH-cam.
TNT Amusements Inc Ok, thank you
Pretty sure all those hobbits are dwarves :P
that is pretty awesome!
+Retro Game Players Agreed!
Got a question Todd...did Elvis ever leave the building, after taking care of business?
+gallimead We never filmed him leaving...he was in a rush!
i do SOOOOOOO want to play that, gorgeous baby
+alan p I am sure they will start turning up all over!
The problem with this pinball The Hobbit is the SCORE 0, 1, 15, 114914...I prefer to have high scores.
+Didier Umé :-)
wonder how many of us with QR readers tried to read your score as a tweet :P don't know who's gonna try first :P
+Lee Bartholomew I should try myself!

No, Elvis brought you El Dorado City Of Gold from 1984. The machine is right and playable.
I am familiar with El Dorado...but we have not had one in couple years...so I am confused. Todd

+John Smith :-)

+Ellen Hamilton :-)
