    I am a 53 year old SINK: single and childless. For a long time, I wanted to have children and be married so badly. Finally, I realized that I had a great amount of freedom and autonomy; therefore, I chose to stop dating in my 30s. I understood I did not have to have a life resembling that of my counterparts. One thing that I have realized in the past few years is this: I am caretaking for my senior parents, but I’m not sandwiched with caretaking for children at the same time. I think that would’ve been too overwhelming for me.

      I ended my last relationship at 30 but always knew I didn’t want kids. I’ve met men that got several from different women, they are looking for an escape from their wife and life.

To not have children in one's prime childbearing years and to later regret that decision is one of the hardest challenges a woman can have. It can result in lifelong mental anguish. But isn’t this what they want? For Black people/people of color to stop reproducing? That’s why Margaret Sanger created Planned Parenthood and placed abortion clinics in the hood (so that “undesirable” populations would stop having children). The United States has a long history of force sterilizing people of color. But with this DINK mindset, there’s no need for such measures. Instead of fighting for livable conditions, some would rather go along and give up the chance to have a family. There are so many other places on the verge of extinction (Korea, Japan, Europe) because of childlessness. I guess chosen extinction is the ultimate protest for high living expenses?

I hope she decides to have children as well because I would love to have grandchildren one day and see what they do to leave their marks on the world. I would love to be blessed with another but in the meantime, She's the best and I couldn't be happier. In fact, I had a miserable day at work and came home to my child's smiling face and heard her calling me mommy and running over to me, every ounce of stress literally melted away. She is probably one of the greatest people to come into my life. When I lost my second child due to medical issues, I'm not sure how I would have gotten through it without her. She has the most cutest amazing personality and I can't wait to see how she will make her mark in this world. I know the world honestly is brighter because she's in it. She truly leaves an impression everywhere she goes. And I'm not saying that just because I'm her mom. It's because she's truly a joy. I don't understand how people can live life and not want that joyous feeling of having children and the only reason I'm getting a dog is to see her happy with it. And NO, I wasn't pressured to have a child. I just had a genuine desire to be a mom all of a sudden.

      halo1k
      Officer Collins has been spearheading one of the US Army's most secretive experiments to date: the Human Hibernation Project. If successful, the project would store its subjects indefinitely until they are needed most. Their first test subject, Joe Bauers, was not chosen for his superiority. Instead, he's chosen because he's the most average guy in the armed services. But scandal erupts after the experiment takes place: the base is closed and the President denies any knowledge of the project. Unfortunately, Joe doesn't wake up in 1 year but in 500. During that time, human evolution has taken a dramatic downturn. After waking up, Joe takes a prison-assigned IQ test and finds that he's the smartest guy alive. Awaiting a full presidential pardon if he can solve one of the country's biggest problems--the dwindling plant population--Joe races against time to solve this problem, but he alienates half the country in the process. Can he make things right and escape a bizarre execution?

You may even get to be supportive grandparents.
    DINK is wonderful for people who have reproductive issues though. A community where they can belong and not feel judged. No one should be judging anyway.

    How will the existence of humanity, the existence of public establishments and the existence of parenthood be able to survive if more couples/women keep choosing not to procreate.
    The effects of more couples/women that keep choosing not to procreate could cause the existence of humanity, the existence of public establishments and the existence of parenthood to be at a risk of no longer existing anymore.
    The existence of humanity, the existence of public establishments and the existence of parenthood are all very important things for the future because
    1. Humans (including women) were created to reproduce in order to keep the human race existing for many years to come.
    2. Humans have gotten the chance and ability to create and invent so many unique and useful things ever since the human race began.
    3. Public establishments were meant to allow humans to have access to them and were only meant to be operating in an environment where humans are around.
    4. Parenthood was meant to be seen and created as something that is beautiful, delightful, rewarding, important, fulfilling and meaningful for a married couple to choose to experience.
    Since the existence of public establishments are included, Here are different types of public establishments that could be affected which are
    1. How places of business (like jobs, companies, corporations, and manufacturers) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to apply for jobs at businesses, companies, corporations and manufacturers and the amount of new people that buy items from manufacturers keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    2. How places of education (like schools, universities/colleges and tutoring services) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to apply for jobs as teachers/professors by teaching new students at schools and universities/colleges, the amount of new students that choose to go to universities/colleges and the amount of new children that need to go to schools and tutoring services to get an education keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    3. How places of healthcare (like hospitals, medical centres/clinics, dental clinics and pharmacies) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to apply for jobs as doctors/healthcare workers by recovering new patients at hospitals and medical centres/clinics, the amount of new people that choose to apply for jobs as dentists by recovering new patients at dental clinics and the amount of new people that need to get treatment at hospitals, medical centres/clinics, dental clinics and pharmacies keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    4. How places of retail (like malls, shopping centres/districts, stores and e-commerce retailers) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to visit malls and shopping centres/districts, the amount of new people that choose to shop at stores and retailers in-person and from online and the amount of new people that choose to apply for jobs at stores and for e-commerce retailers keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    5. How places of transportation (like airports, subway/LRT stations, and bus stations) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that need or choose to use airports, subway/LRT stations and bus stations to go their destination keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    6. How places of sports (like recreation/leisure/aquatic centres, gyms, fitness centres, parks and playgrounds) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that need to exercise or choose to spend time at recreation/leisure/aquatic centres, gyms, fitness centres and parks and the amount of new children that go to playgrounds keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    7. How places of tourism (like museums, movie theatres/cinemas, entertainment centres/venues, amusement parks/carnivals and water parks) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to go to museums, movie theatres/cinemas, entertainment centres/venues, amusement parks/carnivals and water parks keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.
    8. How places of hospitality (like restaurants/food establishments, hotels/resorts, and daycares/childcare facilities) could be at a risk of no longer existing anymore if the amount of new people that choose to dine at restaurants/food establishments, the amount of new people that need or choose to stay at hotels/resorts, and the amount of new children that need to go to daycares/childcare facilities keeps decreasing because of more couples/women choosing not to procreate.

      Equilibrium will find its way. Rudimentarily speaking, less people leads to less demand which may lead to more affordable prices due to oversupply thereby translating into greater affordability and more disposable income along with less need for hours worked which frees up the Human Resources to have have more kids. And those kids will come from more stable homes and we all may be better off for it. I’m glad 20 somethings are not having kids. Once past your twenties, you realize how little you knew. I honestly believe having kids later is better (not necessarily elderly but not straight out of college or hs).

    • @reg2093
      @reg2093 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am from India and it's this kind of stupid thinking ingrained in our culture that has caused a population explosion in our country. People are having children without thinking if they can afford to have them or if it's good for the child. There is so much unemployment and corruption already because of over-population. The value of labour is so minimised due to over supply . And don't forget the thousands of orphans without anybody to care for them. To add more problems companies everywhere are investing in automation to eliminate human labour. The future seems bleak at this point. Not to mention the number of agricultural lands we are destroying to build more houses , consumerism and pollution is on a rise. We hardly get to enjoy any nature in big cities and the destruction is spreading to small towns too.
      Personally I wish people in my country thought like the west. I have visited western nations and I was shocked at the amount of beautiful parks and other recreational spaces there are even in major cities . I envy it. Meanwhile children in my country don't even have decent parks to play in, I felt bad for them. But people in my country are not aware of how much they are missing out on because of the over- population. That's why people need to be more responsible about every life they bring into this planet. Natural resources and jobs are limited , there is no point in giving birth to a future generation if they are not going to be happy, it's unfair to them.

    • @reg2093
      @reg2093 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe population decline in the west coupled with immigration from their world kinda brings in an equilibrium around the world, but it's still not enough, I think every country should be equally responsible about their population and how it affects the world and quality of human life in general.
