- We at V-103 have been lucky enough to have several present and former members of the TLC brand come forward to speak about topics surround VH1's CrazySexyCool. Today on Egypt In The Middays, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes's younger sister, Reigndrop, stopped by to clear up a few misconceptions and to tell us what kind of person her sister really was.

Reigndrop looks nothing like Lisa,... Related? Yes. But not "dead on" like Egypt is portraying her to be via radio
yeah it's kinda like people telling kids they look just like their mom or dad, depending on which family you're around??? Reindrop and Lisa look nothing alike imo.

The fact that you liked Lil Mama's acting doesn't mean the facts are accurate. She may be a good impersonator of Lisa when it comes to gestures, voice, and all that, but that doesn't make the character. What Reigndrop says is that they didn't respect Lisa, they didn't show the true side of her. It's sad you can't understand that, just like the 33 thumbs up you have.

I didn't take it like they just gave the negative of Left Eye… It actually reminded me why everyone liked her.
I know watching the film made me realize why I loved her and the group in general. TLC were the real deal even though they had their issues like every group or person does they will always be this iconic group that cant be replaced or forgotten. I like that lefteye was not a miss perfect. I like that she was real and didnt give a fuck. Its too many fake ass people in the industry now so lets just be happy that we got a bit of that raw realness from tlc back even it was for a little while.
If reigndrop and her family really want to be mad as someone they need to get mad at BET during lisa's death and how they hardly talked about her even till this day. Atleast tboz and chilli try to keep her relevant because the black media sure didnt and thats a fact. The media was the one that destroyed her name and reputation, so get mad at them.

Shenyae Turner .. I disagree with that, Left Eye was one of my favorite members of the group and I don’t think that they made her out to be crazy, it was more or less their view on her at the time. I’m sure if Lisa was still alive that there would have been more to her character shown but overall they didn’t do a bad job portraying her and I loved Left Eye in the movie. I have to rewatch the mouth over the tape scene bc I definitely knew that Left Eye didn’t agree with the lyrics of creep, but I also think Lisa’s sister is hating on TLC a little bit here, Lisa’s sister doesn’t have a good relationship with Chilli and T-Boz.
Right they always make her out to be the bad one. She's not her to tell her side I feel like tboz and chilli were NOT honest about how they portrayed themselves. Like they were angels wrong!! Lisa was my favorite and was the realest one
@@J.Evans_Official plus Chilli didn't go into the truth of the conditions Pebbles laid down for her to be back in the group. She had to agree to go to therapy as Pebbles saw that even at that stage she was a loose girl and tried telling her that no one trusts a loose girl. Chilli didn't listen and continued sucking and f*****g her way around the whole of the industry with anyone she thought could advance her own career. That's probably why she can't find a decent man now. No decent man wants a woman who's had more pricks than a secondhand dartboard
Her and Left Eye look nothing alike to me......at least not here. Lisa was such a pretty girl even without make-up. Just my opinion.
Left eye looks like her mom who's beautiful in a picture i'd seen....and raindrops looks like her dad with the full lips and face can see they are family but left eye set a whole president of her own in the looks department.

Reigndrop wasn't in the group so I'm pretty sure she wasn't around TLC 24/7 so how would she know how Left-eye was/acted whenever she wasn't around...
As her sister, who's close in age btw, I am sure she knows lisa very well. Tione and chili were lisas co workers, not so much close friends. So I dont get why people thing reigndrop wouldnt know lisa more. Now I do agree that there are incidents and sides to lisa her family wouldnt have know... that prbably occured that reigndrop wouldnt have known about with lisa and the other band members. They were depicting lisa from their perspective but out of respect, they should have included the lopes family.

There is countless interviews and articles about tlc squabbles or feelings that could backup or not backup reigndrops comments. if you were old enough during that time of their popularity what she says may ring true as well. Btw, i too have trouble seeing any significant resemblance of lefteye with either of her siblings. The reporter must need some glasses. idk, but It did seem like reigndrop was trying to look a little like her sister which was weird.

Lisa wasn’t portrayed badly in the movie. Furthermore, you’re her SISTER, NOT her group mate therefore your perspective would be totally different from theirs as well as your experiences with Lisa, compared to them. So basically...have a seat and let VH1 and Chilli and TBoz be great🤣
Idk if I agree with that .. For instance in the movie they didn't show how Left Eye was against with Creep cause she didn't like the idea of telling women to Chrat vut in the movie they just made it seem like she was mad about Creep over a petty reason
@@Trenton_Amani i respect that. I remember how it was back then. Lisa was difficult and was going against TBoz and Chilli a lot. She was also doing solo stuff. So, all in all, even if there was some creative license taken and a bit added for drama…it was pretty much realistic.

I can't agree. Lisa was VERY outspoken and close to Reina..I'm sure her insight is very close to accurate. We saw a lot of what Reina said in this interview back in the day. It's also mad disrespectful to imply the family can't represent Lisa whatsoever. She does a lot to keep her sister's legacy alive.

This wasn't Left eye's movie, this was TLC's movie. In the short time they had, they did a great job on covering what they could. Lisa was probably not selfish, but she and everyone has selfish moments.(burning down a house?) They didn't make her out to be a bad person, they told us about the person THEY knew as THEIR band member. I think Raindrop just wants a piece of the pie!

They all showed their honesty in the movie. Chilli went all into her relationship with cheaten ass dallas and how she wanted a baby so bad by him anyway. Tboz went in deep about her disease and cheaten ass relationship with Dalvin. They each showed the good and ugly side of each of them. Lefteye was a very open book so I believe even if she was alive today she would have went even deeper than t and c on her personal life because the girl was very open with her life.

Reigndrop really has no reason to be upset about how Left Eye was portrayed in the movie because Lisa admitted to most of that behavior. She admitted that drinking was a vice of hers and that it caused her a lot of problems. I know she's telling the truth about the creep video and Left Eye did become very stubborn and did go HAM on the other two but not because she hated them at all, she was just WAY CREATIVELY DIFFERENT. She wanted to do stuff that they couldn't envision as yet. To each his own tho.....

I never saw any of them as negative people, not even Left Eye. All three of them went through struggles and still held their head up high. The movie made me miss her even more.
While yes she’s Left Eye sister but she WAS NOT IN TLC. At all. The members of TLC knows what happened in TLC. PERIODT!!!!!

i feel like some of the things Reigndrop described in this interview is something that people that were intimate with the process would've known better. Sure, she can disagree in terms of how TLC group viewed Lisa's personality and the way SHE views her sister's personality. But I dont necessarily act and treat my family the same as i would to my friends, even best friends...so to me, it becomes kinda subjective thing "Lisa wasn't selfish, she'd take her shirt off for you etc"... it might be hurtful thing to watch but everyone has personality flaws, you cant expect your deceased sister to be portrayed like an angel.

RIP Left Eye. Oh yeah - and anyone posting comments saying her little sister is ugly needs to stop hating. She's not ugly at all. She's really cute, and seems like a really cool person. People who make shallow negative judgements like that are the ugly ones, in my opinion.
i dont think Reigndrop understands the idea of the movie...the movie to me and everyone i know that has watched it (and yes i have had a convo with my friends/parents on what they think of the movie) is a tribute to lefteye. you can only include soo much from an 11year time period in 2hours. i believe that this is a very honest movie with the time they were given. and i do NOT believe this paints lefteye in a selfish way. For instance when she put the tape on her mouth in their video, in the movie it showed that she made sacrifices to get shit done for her group and NOT whinge. she didnt refuse to do the music video and they continued to re-iterate that, that she never wanted to leave the group she just needed a break at times (and that doesnt mean anything, everyone has a breaking point and needs to get away sometimes its not a negative thing). but besides that, Reigndrop says that they depicted lefteye as a drunk, all over the place troubled person...(btw i dont know why you would think her sisters T-boz and chilli would ever want to depict her in the negative way you think they are anyway? but moving right along...) in this movie i see a young girl from the hood, positive and strong wanting to make it, to show her father he shoudnt have left. when i see the scenes where lefteye burns the house, kicks the table at the club as someone watching the movie im not thinking "she has a fucking mental problem and is a loose cannon" im thinking damn she has this career but its not what she needs, she still has issues with not having her father. NO ONE is judging lefteye for the things you THINK we are judging her for Reigndrop. WE LOVE lefteye, and this movie maybe even sheds some light to people who didnt know she didnt grow up with a dad why she did burn the house down etc because she was still fighting some demons from her childhood.

I met reign and almost cried, they look so much alike. I got a better understanding of Lisa’s energy. Lisa was soft spoken, fiery, passionate, and independent. She was such a huge spirit. Strong. And just loving. So loving & great with kids.

I find it a little odd and almost troubling as to why reigndrop couldn't specify how much younger she was than Lisa. I guess she wants people to think she is younger than what she actually is but she apparently was born in 1973 which is only 2 years younger than Lisa. That rubbed me the wrong way, I don't know why. Like the age different could have cleared everything up with the interviewer, who by the way was a tad annoying but you reigndrop was def old enough to remember what was going on. If Tionne or Chili didn't reach out to reigndrop and lisa's mom, they are wrong and phony as I always thought they were. I just think Lisa had the wrong people around her.Poor girl. Being rich and famous seems fun but it must have been lonely. Didn't know who to trust but didn't want to be alone.

i didn't get the impression that she was selfish from the movie, but that could be from me actually doing my research being that they were my favorite group. The impression I got was that she wasn't heard and she felt she was losing say in the projects. I mean look at the first album then look at the second and third album credits. What's crazy is that a lot of these TLC "fans" say that they know the group and love them, but don't know the least of left-eye's raps past what's on the album. Bottom line, do your research and know your facts before you speak...

Nomatter how young she was, the fact that her sister had such a profound energy I'm sure she is telling the truth and that it's an accurate account of Left Eye's overall demeanor and spirit. Bless the family
Did I watch a different movie??? I think the depiction was very close to reality. The talked about ALL of their mess. I am sure it was hard for Chili and TBoz to share their issues also. They said when they loss sponsors over what Left eye did, it made them all arsonist because they felt, we are sisters and they supported her. She had alcohol issues. She had anger issues. She was a giving person and kind person. But she was crazy too. Hell, I have NEVER watched a documentary and it pleased everyone involved. Like Whitney Houston family refuted some of the things in her movie. Fact, she was addicted to drugs. She was in a very volatile marriage. She exposed her daughter to too much madness. That was all true.
Pebbles was the thief. She should be so ashamed. But her ex husband stole multi hundred million dollars from her. Karma!
The movie to me didn't portray Left eye as selfish. It just showed that she wanted to expand and venture out on her own as well as being down for the group. It showed that she had the hardest time dealing with fame and her emotions. It's a movie anyways their not going to get everything exactly like how reality was. That's why they tell you that it's "based on a true story" or this is for entertainment purposes" etc

KEYBEATZ It was also from T-boz and Chili's perspective as group members. Left Eye's family probably view things a little differently being outside of the group. And I agree with you, I didn't think she was portrayed as negative. They even said in the movie that Lisa always tried to help ppl, even if they weren't good for her. They shared problems within the group, but still look at her as a sister. With that being said, it must be hard for her family to know people will see Lisa through Chili and T-boz perspectives and experiences and not theirs.
And that Lisa is not alive to tell her side of the story.

Lisa was SOOOOOO intelligent - such a loss- I love listening to her talk about her projects and she's the only person to say " is there more to this than just making videos and doing concerts?" She was bigger than most intellectually, and who knows what we've lost - I am positive it is significant. Love ya lefty.
TLC was not trying to show her in a bad way. They were trying to tell what happend and it is not all bad about Lisa. Some scenes did happen that was a bad time for her , but thats what happend ! There was many scenes that Lisa was very funny , compassionate , and loving too. It sounds like Reigndrop is a little bit jealous !!!
The movie was about TLC, it was not the autobiography of Lefteye and they have to accept that. Lefteye's brother approved and signed off on the project since he controls her estate. Reign has an issue with her brother not the girls
What the members of the band saw in Lisa is going to be different than how her siblings saw her. Sorry, Reigndrop, but there was no point in you complaining about her portrayal. It would be different if the movie was soley about LeftEye, but the movie was about TLC.

I honestly can not understand her issue with the movie. Besides her family not getting a call about the movie but in another interview she stated she did attend one scene and was extremely proud of Lil Mama role as Left Eye! The movie was great and everyone loves it! Even Wendy Williams! According to the movie Left Eye was not even staying with her family at the time they was discovered.

looking back on it, they did kind of show lisa in a negative light plenty of times in the movie, but then at the same time that's probably how they viewed her at times. at least they expressed why she was being negative.
I auditioned for Lisa Left -Eye and I can agree that when I read the script I thought Lisa was not represented in a true light and other characters....who i know personally

I can understand her wanting to defend what she thinks is wrong but at the end of the day Lisa was not perfect.She wants all the positive in the movie which I'm sure Lisa was a lot of but I'm sure she did some negative things which we saw during their career hence the vibe interview.All THREE girls had positive and negative things in their life and that was showed through the movie.I understand it's a touchy topic for Raina since it's her sister and she probably didn't see her sister in this light.I have sisters myself and I'm sure if one of them died I would reflect on the positive more than the negative but the truth is nobody is perfect. Lisa was a caring person as Chilli and T-Boz has said before in multiple interviews WHILE Lisa was still alive. Still,she had selfish ways back in the Fan Mail era when she didn't show up for a press conference. Raina has to understand that the fans don't care about that,we love her regardless. But it still had to be showed,at the end of the day we saw how selfless she was in the movie.She agreed to go on a tour she didn't want to go on to appease T-Boz & Chilli.So,there's really nothing for Raina to defend because I believe the story would be the same if Lisa was here.
I think Chilli and Tboz was telling the truth. Even in left eye documentary, she had left with her boyfriend and no one could find her. Her behavior in that movie was the same when she was in TLC. Lisa said it herself she taped her mouth in the creep video. She admitted things like cutting herself, etc. Reign stop trying to make Lisa an angel, we all have downfalls in our lives.
There were a lot of things that were true in the movie but she's saying how she was portrayed in some parts. For example, they never illustrated how Lisa explained why she put tape over her mouth during the TLC Creep video they just portrayed her as if she was being a rebel putting tape over her mouth for no apparent reason. That's all Reigndrop is saying.

Her comments are kinda dumb.. you show a different side of yourself to your friends than you do your family. That's common sense, no one doubts TLC loved left eye so why would they knowingly portray her in a negative light? Also lets stop pretending lisa wasn't the C (Crazy) of crazy sexy cool. She lit her boyfriends house on fire and days later held up Clive Davis at gun point. Yet her sister is making her seem like Ghandi or something. It's not to say she is a bad person but keep it real this is just an attempt to get press for herself.
Well the fact that she didn't want to mention her age or the age gap between her and Left-Eye is a clear indicator that the age gap may be too wide for her to have possibly known/or understood what all was going on with her sister. Meaning she was fairly young. But she's only doing what ANY sister would do which is defend her sister's legacy and character that has been portrayed. But Lil Mama did a GREAT job portraying Left-Eye!

Reigndrop should become a part of TLC. She looks just like her sister. DAMN. I truly believe that Lisa was murdered. To those who saw the video of her just driving, and for the most akward reason losing control of her vehicle, it raises a flag of suspicion, and intent by those who are unseen and involved, who need to be held accountable for and brought to the light.

If you look the behind the music doc and last days of left eye, Lisa talks about her struggles and a lot of that took place while she was apart of TLC. I think people are missing the who point of the movie. They all had their personal struggles but at the end of the day, loved each other as sisters.

Reigndrop says that the family wasn't contacted but did they contact Chilli and T-Boz? I get that she and Lisa were close but Reigndrop can't be an expert in everything about Lisa. I know my sibling's personality but I don't know how they are at work or how they were when they were little. She didn't like that they showed Lisa getting drunk in the film but maybe that's what happened at that time. Everyone has that period in their lives where they get drunk and then they stop being the type of person who gets drunk. It happens. Obviously, she must know that Lisa is more spiritual b/c that's the side she saw of her. Maybe she didn't witness the drunk Lisa. In Left Eye's documentary, she admitted that she got drunk and would yell "Nikki." She says that no one in the family was contacted but I don't believe that. They can't just make a film without the family's permission. I can't believe that there was zero communication. Maybe zero with Reigndrop but not with the mother or brother. I don't know. There is something missing.

I'm upset that they didn't even mention the album "3D". I mean that was a part of their journey without Lisa & they didn't even include how they went on without her & that record, That was a major part of their story also
I think the portrayed her the way they saw her but maybe not exactly the way she was. I watched the last day of Lisa lopes documentary after I saw the movie and she was a much more complex person than the movie portrayed. I dont think they understood her motivations for what she did.

I just watched that movie today, and, honestly, I didn't get a negative impression of Left Eye from it. If anything, I felt that it showed that she was human and that she, like all of us, had flaws. I found that to be refreshing because many times, once someone dies, people often tend to (for better or worse) glamorize the person and gloss over their inconsistencies, and I felt that the movie did a good job of showing her in a well-rounded way. But hey, that's just my opinion.
Lisa was the most talented of the group. I remember when she did the song with the other female rappers, she was great! She could have done really well on her own and that probably scared T and C. Well we see that after she died they could not get it together enough to make music on their own! They want to make her seem crazy and selfish but I think she was just frustrated and wanted out of a stale situation because she had outgrown the group! I remember, at the time how upset they were because she was doing other things, maybe it was because C and T only had TLC but Lisa had many other options!
If you watched the movie they were all apart of a group and all in debt I don't think it had anything to do with talent and who was most talented they had responsibilities and commitments to fulfill that's the business...

ANYONE who thinks this movie portrayed Lisa honestly did NOT know Lisa, her family, her friends, business associates etc. PERIOD. Especially the "new, young fans" who only know TLC from the movie and what was displayed in the film. I wish there was a way to mute comments from any and everyone who does not actually KNOW her. i loved the movie, but I feel that they did exaggerate some negative sides of lisa. BUT at the same time I think it was hard for them to try to put everything into 2 hours. some parts of the story didnt line up with what actually happened in real life but I feel that they did it to make the story line flow. because tboz and chilli say stuff in interviews that line up exactly with things lisa said in interviews as well. its all love! lets just appreciate this group for their greatness. you know tboz and chilli would never do anything to make lisa look bad. RIP Lisa!

I too believe a lot of Lisa's life in the movie was fabricated. If you have common sense and just watch documentaries of her and studied her character you would see that the movie was waaaaaaay too over dramatic and didn't capture her true essence. She wasn't a selfish person, she was just very creative and talented and wanted to showcase that. I could understand not bring able to showcase all of that when u share the stage with 2 other people.

My siblings know me differently than other people. Their (my siblings) opinion and view of me is not what others see because they don't know me in that aspect of my life. She knows left eye as family not exactly in the same way the rest of the group members know her. If she was so "privy" to things she could've objected to the portrayal of her sister in the first place. Don't be messy and radio hop complaining when the opportunity to speak up passed.

Raina should be glad that had enough respect to not go all the way in on her volatile relationship with andre. They pretty much glossed over that out of respect I believe and besides lefteye is not here to tell her story on that. She would be the only one to tell how it really went down not tboz and chilli. They could have also added the video footage of her crashing and that would have been really disrespectful so I think t and c did the best they could with the little time frame they had to do this movie. They brought some negative on her but they brought out alot positive on her and made people love her even more than they did.
Really I think Raina and her family need to be mad at how when lisa died the media totally didnt show her no love really but they was all in her business when she was acting out. They need to be mad about that not this movie. If anything the movie made people love her as the media back in day tried to destroy her reputation.
I'm seriously not seeing how the biopic was negative. It was essentially a retelling of VH1's "Behind The Music" feature on TLC from back in the day and there wasn't anything new that Lisa hadn't actually spoke on herself. Plus, their brother had the sign-off on the script as the Executor of Lisa's Estate - that is really the material point being ignored here.

The movie to me did not portray Lisa as a drunk! It just showed that Left was very creative and far beyond her time. They loved Lisa & I believe they were died on... Everybody wants there 15 min of fame... Lil mama looked more like Lisa anyway...

A lot of shit was fishy with this movie , they were supposed to be her sisters but portrayed her as crazy and selfish. Amd gave a lot of half truths one being the tape thing in the movie box was like why she got tape on her mouth chilli was like idk girl.. Even I knew why she had tape on her mouth.. And when she was in the jungle they tried to twist her documentary around to make her look like a weirdo.. Even when they showed her in the limo at the end , of you watch her doc she drove their and back in a car with her friends bf and manager. Also why make a movie about the group and not invite left eyes family to the screening?? This all comes down to them being jealous of her being everyone's favorite member before and after death
+Kenny Jackson left eye said herself that she was so against creep she wore tape over her mouth so first of all they didnt lie. also they didnt try to twist her documentary, that was how lisa was looking in the documentary most of the damn time. also im sure the family couldve gone to the movie screening, they didnt go because they prolly were using that as a way to protest the movie for some reason idk why if they didnt even see it
Ronald Lopes (Lisa's brother) is the official representative & owner to the rights of "Left Eye", so it's no wonder that Raina aka Reigndrop, doesn't know much about the dealings (including the profit percentage owed to the Lopes family) when asked if they'll get paid or not. Also, due to creative license, the director & writer were given permission to moderate the content to fit 2 hrs as it's meant to be "based" on a true story.
When left eye did her verse in creep when was that? I don't remember her doing a verse of her own... I think that what people need to see is that family does not always see the same picture of a person as close friends not saying she was selfish just saying her family probably did not know her as well as they thought. Everyone has their own opinions. Mine is that the group tlc was amazing and if not for all 3 girls we never would have had the privilege to see and hear how talented these women are

what I dislike about some people, is that when a person dies, they act like they were such an angel, and they were perfect. Left Eye was human like all of us, she even admits to being a heavy drunk in the Last Days of Left Eye documentary. I think her sister has an obvious biased opinion because that's her sister. I saw the movie, and I thought the depiction of Left Eye was done great, kudos to Lil Mama because she truly studied Left Eye. What Reigndrop has to understand is that Left Eye isn't here to speak for herself, so this is what other people saw, not necessarily what Left Eye saw through her own eyes. Personally, I didn't like the TLC movie...being a TLC head, I thought it didn't do the girls justice. TLC is such an amazing group and it's such a shame that it was such a low budget film...hell, I would've donated a little $50 to make KeKe Palmer's edges lay down like real baby hair! Lol, that was a total mess.
I really like the movie and I thought the production of the film was well put together but that is my opinion. I would have loved for it to be a mini series because there was so much needed to be told and wasnt but it was good movie for what it was worth. Brought back so many memories and I loved that the most. I really didnt care about budget aspect of it all but just mainly the memories when music artists were real and better.
TLC were the dream group. What little girl didnt want to be them growing up. Their style and swag was everything to most of us and they were all gorgeous at that. Never be another group like them and that is too bad.
I feel like the movie is accurate. There was chemistry between the actors. I think the sister is just salty bcuz maybe she DID ask to play her and they went with LM instead, which was the the right choice IMO. And Egypt, calm down. Ronald is the one who looks like most like LE.
It's funny how these old ass comments keep saying she doesn't look like Lisa, yet Lil' Mama looks NOTHING like her. If i were a director, I would have had Reign play her sister because she knows her the best. That's her blood and I'm sure Lisa wouldn't have had an issue with her sister playing her.

How could they have made her look better in 2 hour movie unless they were doing a movie about lefteye only. I mean really everybody is being fame hungry right now. Everybody wants their 15 mins. Lisa was creative, smart, straightforward and troubled woman and they showed all of that.
