& Left Eye did say in an interview she didn't like the idea of telling women 2 cheat back on their man. She thought they should just leave. But like always her opinion was overruled...
My thing is this. For any REAL TLC fan none of the stories told in the movie is new. It was pretty much their Behind the Music special being played out in the movie. We knew that Pebbitone and LaFace screwed them over, we knew about the sickle cell, we knew about Chilli and Dallas, we knew about Left Eye burning the house down, and we knew that during the Fanmail era the group had a fall out. Left Eye even mentioned in her documentary how she would drink and when she would drink she would do some out of character things. So what is there to be mad about because, once again, none of this is new. It was a good movie nonetheless and while it didn't show any of them living picture perfect lives, it did show that the girls were human and dealt with the same problems "ordinary" people deal with.

Apparently the brother was the one giving clearance to Chilli and T-Boz on anything Left Eye related. Reigndrop seems more mad that she wasn't involved more than the family not being involved.

The family should have been allowed to want the red carpet. I think that was wrong. As far as the movie it was based on Lisa's interaction with the group and perhaps not the side the family got to see. Lisa was out of control, so I am sure she was depicted the way she interacted with the group. I am sure the family did not see the craziness that went on, so I don't think they should have been involved with the project. Everything that was shown in the movie was in the headlines prior to Lisa's passing. Sometime the truth hurts and people don't want it to come out. Based on headlines and Lisa's interviews the storyline was written around that. Just because you're family does not mean you know how your family member truly live their life...you know what they want you to know and see what they want you to see. The movie wasn't based on capturing every detail of group member lives. It was based on the groups experience and what they went through with their music career.

Legally they should have and normally they still have to get the family permission to do a story about Lisa whether she was in the group of not legally
She contradicts herself all over the place in this interview. She says the family wasn't involved, yet she was invited on the set. She says the family wasn't involved, yet they had a private screening. She says the family wasn't involved, yet she went to the premier. Sounds to me like they tried to keep the family in the loop.

VirgoDar i think by "involved", she probably meant their input on the story. I don't think it was necessary bc it wasn't a left eye biopic so there wasn't much focus on family life or anything, but I think that's what she meant.
And don't forget, the family signed off on them telling Left Eye's story. They were in on this project from the beginning.
The families aren't involved in these movies, Whitney Houston's family weren't notified of the movie about her also.

This woman has given very level headed, calm and collective opinions in a VERY diplomatic manner. I have not heard any bitterness or acidity in her statements. I can't see any reason to be upset with this woman even if you don't fully agree. Truth is if someone wanted to tell my story and sought zero input from my family, even I would think they are crazy.

Just like when a lot of artist die, they ask the family for their perspective of their relative, that's just out of respect for the deceased. i feel like they purposely left Lisa out of it, for some undercover reasons but all i have to say is, "whats done in the dark, is brought to the light". and this whole movie is really making me see the real sketchiness of this industry, and really making me see how chilly really is.

Even if her family had no say in how she was portrayed - they hurt for her loss more than anyone, they deserve to at least be invited to witness the process in a front row seat should they wish to. I miss Aaliyah and Left Eye as much as any fan - but they were their families' loved one first. Their families hurt the most. Their families should be respected.
So the everyday those girls spent together, sleeping in the same beds, Together for years prior to fame.. 10 years together during fame.. are you saying Tboz, and Chilli didn't know her, her dreams, her passions? You are most likely to tell your friends these things before you tell your family. She had a distance relationship with her father.. right there she isn't talking to family. And Left Eye is a talker... they know. Tboz, and Chilli has not had the best relationship with Rain since Left Eye's death.. she has been quite critical of them.

You can tell how she was as a person somewhat. However, they should have talked to the family at least once. They probably didn’t involve them because they had issues with her family in past.

In the movie the scene made out she wanted to be an alien and was acting childish but truth be told she was against the message of the song, even the screen writer changed her narrative to fit what they wanted to portray

I feel like as TLC fans we missed out a little not having Lisa's family involved. In the movie, we saw scenes with T-Boz and Chilli interacting with their mother's, had they involved Lisa's mom in some aspect to get a personal scene for Left-Eye, instead of her walking around town drinking in public or burning things. Just saying.
I can agree with you, especially on the whole "hollywood" thing. At the end of the day they were making a movie and they needed to make it interesting and juicy for all audiences. Even though...I would have enjoyed it regardless of what they missed or didn't shoot.
Alexander Gutierrez I can't remember if there were scenes with the other mothers, but it wasn't that vital to the story of TLC. I think we could've gotten some input to maybe see how left eye was outside of the group a little, but I guess they just wanted it to be about TLC.
If they had the time New edition had to tell theirs, definitely have the family input.
I agree wholeheartedly with this statement! As much as I enjoyed the biopic, I do feel that it wasn't fair not to include one or two family scenes for Left Eye. We've seen a depiction of Chilli and her mom in the car (discussing school), and we also see T-Boz receiving support from her mom in the hospital (during her sickle cell episodes). However, I do recall watching an interview where T-Boz and Chilli mentioned how they've visited Left Eye's family a few times (throughout their career), and in the wake of her death. All things considered, I guess such scenes would've been hard for them (to rewatch) - at the same time, I don't think Hollywood wanted Lisa to shine either. She wasn't very selfish (Dallas and LA Reid were part of the reason why many of her TLC songs/verses weren't released, so she made more pursuits). 😔

She looks nothing like Lisa. They look similar but her face more rounder. Lisa had DOE eyes and a baby face and more slimmer. She was much prettier than Raina. Lisa was the only Star in that family. It speaks why Lisa left that abusive toxic family in the late 80s to chase success because of the dysfunctional relationships with them, I always felt she didn’t get a chance to share her full length biography. I wish she would’ve worked with someone to help her write about her life prior to TLC.
Her issues with TLC was professional not personal and she did not hate those girls. She’s loved them but she was over the whole group and didn’t care about TLC no more prior to passing. She wanted to move on to being solo but made some wrong choices towards the end and went about it wrong.

Tboz and Chil said they talked to LeftEyes brother who was in charge of LeftEyes estate. The brother didn't communicate with the rest of the family.

and yeah I've noticed a lot of American artists mainly black artists who have found success in Japan while their western pursuits never popped off. I remember watching this special on forgotten 90s groups, this one guy from an old fairly popular 90s R&B group had a single for his solo career which did terrible in the states but to his surprise found that it was number 1 in Japan and the rapper Fabo who used to be apart of the one hit wonder group D4L is freakin famous in Japan. throughout his solo Career, his Japan tours were the only ones that made him money.
I think this girl is seeking attention with this interview.

I think she doesn't know a lot of things but just wants to be in the spotlight. Because she kind of contradicted herself when she says, "In the movie they have her putting tape on her mouth because she couldn't get her way, she did put black tape on her mouth because she did not agree with the message" I already knew that from an interview I watched. But then she turns around and says, "She never talked to me about business". I mean WTH so if she didn't talk to you about business then how do you know that is why? She probably expressed to her that she didn't agree but in that conversation I'm pretty sure she didn't mention taping her mouth shut. I think most of these comments are bias. I am a huge TLC fan but I think that Left Eye's family should have been invited to the movie premiere and they should have been able to offer some feedback on behalf of Lisa. Lisa's family was very involved in her life because you see them in video clips on the award shows and Reigndrop performed with Lisa on stage. T-boz and Chill's showcased their relationships with their moms. Their mothers have nothing to do with TLC but they were in the movie. I felt like they could have added a scene or two with Lisa's mom, sister, and brother. While watching the biopic , you felt like Lisa was alone throughout the entire movie (family wise). Maybe they didn't include them because of the time restraints on the movie. who knows lol

@@annadraper6 thank you. I never liked Lisa’s family because she was suffering but no one intervened with her obvious mental health issues and emotional damage. TLC told their version of Lisa and I do believe that was the Lisa they got and knew.
Lisa ran away from her family at 17. So that says a lot about her relationship with them. They was all on that spiritual documentary with her because she was the star, I don’t think they truly cared about her all that well, like the woman not the rap star in TLC.
3:46 - 3:49 it’s crazy how she confirms Lisa never spoke music or business with her. Lisa never had that type of relationship with her. She made up a fake persona trying to do music and cash in off Lisa’s image, accolades, and success.
I mean... I feel like she feels entitled to be apart of any and everything that they did. I will say that she could have been invited to the red carpet event, and maybe sat in on some scenes, but I just feel like she feels that she should automatically be granted those privileges.
It is a character issue. As someone who lost my mother if someone made a movie and didn't ask any of my family about her character prior to making the movie I would be upset too. It's not about making it about them or Lisa its about making sure someone that is no longer here is depicted correctly since they are no longer here to speak for themselves. It's easy to have a negative opinion until you're in their shoes.

It was the Story of TLC Career not just Left Eye. You had a different relationship with Left Eye. TBoz and Chili had a different relationship with Left Eye. It was an excellent movie and all fans think so. From the movie Left Eye didn't even stay with get family she moved. I think it's more guilt with the family.

I don't think she is trying to profit from her sister .How do we know that she wasn't contacted and asked what was her family viewpoint of the movie.Her family probably wanted her to speak and tell what they thought of the movie. Lisa is not around to give her input so her family is her voice .They may know more of what is going on than what people think they know .So how is it ok for T-boz and Chilli to put in their input in and profit from the movie .The movie is about the three of them not just them two.
We don't even know if Lisa even spoke to them about what was going on in the group and I'm sure they didn't know everything she was dealing with considering they were on the road a lot. I mean she even admitted that they didn't speak or talk business.

No... see, Selena's family WAS her group...her band. Her brother and sister and husband were the band and her Dad was their manager. Her Mom made their outfits. This was the TLC story. It depicted TLC's time together as a group. They spent 9 months to a yr at a time, just with each other in the studio, learning choreography, performances, interviews, sleeping and eating together. They each shared a life totally separate from their blood relatives.This is THEIR story and only they can tell that story. Family wasn't on the road with them or on set for videos. Only T-boz and Chilli can tell this story...The TLC STORY.
So if that's the case then it wasn't necessary 2 portray any of Chilli's or TBoz's family then, since it's so strictly about "The Group" ! Left Eye's character was definitely limited in this movie & it looks suspect.. & like I said since she wasn't here 2 represent herself , then those fam members she was close with shoulda been !!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Are you talking about Lisa's family being represented in the movie like t-boz and chilli's moms were? I'm strictly talking about what happened and who the girls were when it was just them on the road, in rehearsals, etc. Things that went on between them. They knew Lisa best from that perspective...nobody else was TLC but T-boz, Left-eye and Chilli. btw... I ADORE Left-Eye and she is so missed.

I fail to hear any significant or meaningful complaint in any of the nonsense you're talking. What pisses me off is that you pick THIS moment to upstage your sister and her group when VH-1 is paying tribute to their awesome legacy and while the world is watching. 3 women that bled, sweat and cried together for 10 yrs and you're willing to throw shade on this moment because you weren't invited to walk the red carpet?!

Girl you were on set! What's the problem? It wasn't about Lisa's life, they showed what happened to Lisa's dad. This was a good movie, and while some things were turned around like the Creep thing, you can go back and watch clips of Left Eye and figure out what happened. At the end of the day, CrazySexyCool is a great movie.
This girl is just speaking her mind and her own viewpoints about the movie. I would be upset if my sister were portrayed in a movie, in a way that was contrary to the who my sister really was. Being a performer is one thing, the human being is entirely another. I don't think she is trying to gain anything from this. However, it is sad regarding the treatment of her and her family during the premier of the movie, considering that Lisa Lopez in many ways added to the powerful aura, the image, and the intrigue that continues to fascinate when it comes to TLC.
I agree i think the family should have been notified about the movie.Its wrong i dont think Reigndrop is thirsty i mean dang its her sister and a movie is being made in her honor and no one bothered to inform the family, not even tione (t boz) i mean if reigndrop considers tione as her big sister, family whatever then i think she should of atleast informed the family. i guess its all about the money when it comes down to it. From watching Chilli and TBoz's interviews and Reigndrops, all of this seems to be a real big misunderstanding that can be solved. Yes, I also feel that Lisa's portrayal was off a little to people who are just now being introduced to her, and for a movie that is going to be shown worldwide to show he she really was, it hey could have done Lisa a lot more justice on her character.

Did you walk the red carpet with your sister at every TLC event? I know your the sister, but she was famous for the group TLC. We didn't see anyone playing Usher, or so on. Yes, your the family, but that's where it stays. I don't know what ur looking for. Lil mama I'd a great job enjoy the movie, and be blessed they took the time to make one, to allow the fans one last feel of Lisa spirit.
Even tho Stevie wonder could see this movie was bullshit , the part that really fucked me up is how thirsty they were.. They really tried to go on tour with lil mama filling in for left eye like wtf they even tried to bring her on drakes tour when they were added but he shut that dumb shit right down

Shut up, this was about how they were as a group, NOT their personal lives. As everyone that watched the movie seen, they focused mainly on TLC the group, and very little of their personal lives. If you, the Lopes family want the world see Lisa's personal story, from your point of view, then make a damn movie about her, Lisa Lopes, and do it the way YOU see fit.

IMO, Reigndrop seems to carry bitterness towards the group as a whole, the family has spoken out after Lisa's death many times that they didnt like what the girls were doing, I dont think I would have invited them either, ANYTIME Lisa's likeness, rap, voice, anything is used performance wise, movie, whatever, they MUST get approval from the estate which is run by Ronald Lopes, Lisa's brother, and T and C confirmed this in an interview, take it up with him if they feel some kind of way....
They not suppose to use Lisa without you knowing as family they need to learn she died anything they do under her name might bring family in tears 😭 without their knowledge hope the learn next time to inform you as Lisa's family so it brings happiness to see someone imitating Lisa God bless y'all 👏🏾

They couldn't have done the TLC movie used Lisa's likeness, her words(sound bites) or if you really want to the truth the L in TLC without Lisa's estate signing off on these projects. If they want to go forward and continue to do music under the name TLC, they are going deal with Lisa's estate. Lisa owned the rights to the L in TLC. I understand Reigns need to try to protect her sisters memory from having lost a family member suddenly and tragically in 2004. But Reign has been doing a lot of talking out of turn. This is not a TLC problem, it is largely a miss communication between Lisa's heirs. Apparently Ronald Jr. is the executor over Lisa's estate, and he didn't talk to mom or baby sister about the movie, or the redo of waterfalls with the Japanese rapper doing Lisa's part( and incidentally I think she is more annoyed with that then anything because she wanted to do it) he must not be required to under the terms of Lisa's will. And the movie was a hour and forty eight minutes long. Movies get written twice; once during script development, and again in the editing room. What VH1 presented was the best movie about TLC that was possible in that time frame. If they had done what Reign suggest it would have had to be a mini series; and they may not have contracted for that, again she wasn't a party to what her brother signed off on. It wasn't T-boz and Chili who kept her out of the loop, it was her brother. I think she should quit, because keeping all of this drama going about this is not honoring her sisters memory or her legacy. Most of the events that they talked about in the movie, I remembered when it happened and where I was when I saw it; I remembered it well. I think that the portrayal of Lisa in the movie brought her in to the realm of being a real person, with faults and flaws, instead of this crazy flighty broad with and explosive temper like the media tend to make her out to be.The movie was call Crazy Sexy Cool; Lisa came up with that. I have seen countless interviews with T-boz Lefteye, and Chili, and some with just T-boz and Chili; and when the subject came up, there has never been a time were Lisa wasn't give her props for the contribution to the groups artistic direction or to their music. So I think Reign needs to quite with all the drama. "Because no one talked to me, they didn't ask me, I wasn't invited to the set, they didn't get my opinion on it I wasn't in the loop." She needs to take that up with big brother.

Well at the end of the day, I'm late seeing this but all this is personal. One thing I can say is that the family doesn't not need to be involved in everything. Now there could have been things that they could have asked Left Eye's family about and then took in consideration of some things. Who's to know they didn't and maybe because they didn't use everything they are mad. But for real it doesn't matter! The movie was great! Family will always be upset when they don't get full recognition. This movie was not about the family it was about the group. The mothers were involved in all the right places. Family input was always fit where it is seen to be fit.
