I totally like the way your handlebar tape looks - the faded, "natural" look is great. If you don't dig it I reccomend Grepp tape alot, reusable/washable and awesome colours.
Funny how this Fixie Bike has so many add-ons, that it almost became "a normal bike" . Typical men's frame, fenders, non-race-tires, a rack and no gears. If it wasnt for the missing brakes and the fixed cog it would be a standard bike many years ago. But if that means we can appreciate functional upgrades such as fenders and racks again, I am all for it :D
I've always wanted full fenders on all my bikes. Young people tell me it looks stupid, they're wrong. I don't like getting that dirt line on my back when riding on wet roads.
I always put 3-4 coats of shellac. I think the consensus is to re-shellac after a while to keep it looking nice. But I definitely feel you on the ratty aspect of the wear you see on cotton bar tape. I've just stuck to using the brooks wrap to match my saddle. I've also seen better results using the Cinelli splash tape with a coat of clear shellac, that seemed to hold up nicely.
Definitely get the Velo Orange fenders! They’re prettier, have better coverage, and are half the weight of the SKS. They will maybe require a bit more time in installation, but totally worth it
You have a dedicated utility bike now- may as well get a dyno front hub so you never have to think about charging your lights. If you want to go Seattle Randonneur style, you can make mud flaps from milk cartons, or go super bougie and make from oiled leather.
I been watching your videos for a while I bought a pair of wabi wheels the lightweight steel ones and when I was turning I fell on my side I wasn’t hurt because I wasn’t going that fast I saw my rims were both bent when I got home so I got them adjust but the back wheel is bent where the rim was welded together now I’m looking for a different rim because the company says they don’t insure accidents but it was bent at the welded line one par is slightly lifting over the other just thought I’d put my experience out there to the person who Introduced me to this company
Don’t ride these fenders in winter. When it’s below freezing, they become brittle af, I had a set of mine broken in just a couple of days of active riding as a bike courier.
Ciao What formula hubs are they? Because i discovery they are two types I have the cheap ones Mybe are my same They come with my cinelli hobo bike You say you dont noticed difference from with industries hubs Thanks Adam😊
Bro, I have to ask. Does the handling and weight distribution of fixed gears ever bother you? And what do you do to combat that? For example, I'm used to BMX bikes where I can jump cubes and make sharp turns on a dime. The other day my Mercier TT almost slid from under me after I made a sharp turn, only going like 10 mile an hour.
Well, you can't expect BMX and road or track (whatever Kilo TT is) bike handle same. I feel difference when I switch between 54 and 56 sizes of same frame if I don't ride one of them for too long. Give yourself and bike a time, allow body to learn bike, do usual slow riding, riding figures, rotations etc. and you'll be fine.
@Frankgonzalez-hj7bm basically not existent now and like you said only enthusiast left they won't be watching a channel like this zach has zero clue on what he's talking about half the time
Zack, I’d love to put you in training as a recruit in the British a parachute Regiment. We would sort your hair out and eventually, if you didn’t opt out, turn you into a proper man. My advice’s would be to sign up for the cycle America coast to coast from Seattle to Boston. You would redeem yourself and mix with a wide range of individuals from outside of your normal spectrum. I do love these Wabis though having three British alternatives.
Nice setup!
You've come a long way since trying to tour with a huge backpack. Nice setup!!!

I remember when I switched from tread to smooth tires, it felt like I was riding in heaven on a brand new bicycle.
Damn that's a clean looking bike, I love practical classy bikes!
I used to be a fixed gear cult member but opened to mind to some gears and breaks. I hope Zach opens his mind too, it’s worth it.

I bought a Wabi and I love it man.. I’m going to ride it around some back roads today
Beautiful bike. Steel is real...practical 😁
I hate to admit it but Gallardo has influenced my taste in bikes lol
so real
To be fair he has amazing taste, so that's for the best
I dont particularly like his steel "good" carbon "bad" take but he genuinely has some of the most relatable and classy picks on his channel
I shellac'd my cloth wrap 4+ years ago and they still look pretty damn good, but I hit mine with 4 layers before riding
I've always wanted full fenders on all my bikes. Young people tell me it looks stupid, they're wrong. I don't like getting that dirt line on my back when riding on wet roads.
The dirt line looks way worse than fenders do lol

I use cheap hockey stick black cotton tape and it doesn’t fade but threads unwind over time. I just occasionally cut them off.
Definitely get the Velo Orange fenders! They’re prettier, have better coverage, and are half the weight of the SKS. They will maybe require a bit more time in installation, but totally worth it
I wasn’t even into cycling when I started watching this channel. Today I don’t even own a car anymore. Fixie 4 life ( but only if it bar spins)
Yay gallardo stickers!!!!
Portland Design Fenders are what you need 👍
That front rack is sick bro.

When the chain wears and you need to push the rear wheel back, and you have to adjust the fenders as well, how does that feel?
The fizik faux leather wrap is pretty legit. My last batch made it 5 years.

I thought you would do a video about All-City Cycles and what you think is the state of current bike companies.
Let’s see some actual content with your thunder! All we’ve seen is the unboxing and the buildup
How do you remove the rear wheel? Do you have to remove the mudguard as well?
0:24 - big pause
When you get new fenders get them in silver. Looks great! Pulls from the bars and other little silver bits. Black would be boring!
Congrats on the wedding.
Do you talk to Barbara?
Don’t ride these fenders in winter. When it’s below freezing, they become brittle af, I had a set of mine broken in just a couple of days of active riding as a bike courier.
Don't think I'd ever buy a Thunder with all the other exciting bikes Wabi makes.
How did you wrap the bars without using electrical tape to finish?
Sick bike. But please explain the apparent Columbus sticker!
Does anyone know where can I try this in Singapore?
I use handsome mudbutler fenders there black and hammered
🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥
Saying No to fixie points. Just enjoy the ride.
Ciao
What formula hubs are they?
Because i discovery they are two types

Mybe are my same

Just use Black Rit Dye and re-dye them.
Bought a Wabi based on your reviews, but I am not very satisfied with it, mostly to do with Geo
Nice 15 minute ad.
It's just the frame that he's sponsored to talk about, the rest is still great points about other cool bike companies and practical products
brother's haircut so 🔥 🔥 🔥
Bluelug acrylic cloth tape or velox cotton are way better alternatives to newbaums which sucks
But it has brake bosses. People will point and talk.
Bro out of video ideas
For a while man. Haha
Literally years, he should rearlly quit, fixed gear content let's be real always had a sell by date
The Wabiman' strikes again
@Twistandgouk fixed gear is a niche market so only the true enthusiasts are left it's not trendy like it was around 2009-2012 ish
@Frankgonzalez-hj7bm basically not existent now and like you said only enthusiast left they won't be watching a channel like this zach has zero clue on what he's talking about half the time
I remeber when this channel was good now just repetative absolute nonsense
Dump the basket and get a rear rack.
D-I-E bike? Uhm, not really the best acronym. 🤣😅

Bro WHAT, keep your "proper man" bullshit to yourself. Nobody cares. Go back to the army old man
Idk the bikes is cool and all, but it's sort of boring.
first lol I got to say the dumb thing
I'm sorry maybe it's just me but I don't understand why somebody would want to have a fixed gear.
