I had to chuckle; I still have my 05 LX, but I got the 2022 LX and I agree in the long run if your doing maintenance yourself and trying to cut costs. LX is the best and will last the longest.
Sorry for the question, is EX-L a trim? I don’t see a lot of people mentioning it but it comes up as a search option & I’m not really familiar with it.
But it has the 1.5 turbo with all the problems. Just look at Honda dealership used cars. All 1.5 turbos with 30,000 to 50,000 mile cars being traded in. No 2.0 non turbo’s used to be found.

My wife and I got a '23 Sport. Don't forget about the Sport Touring package.
I got the EX little extras added up for me were worth it. Happy with my choice

Honda Kinda killed it by using a CVT instead of a 10x better 6spd auto maybe an 8 spd with the touring model
Agreed I am not a fan of CVTs in any car really but the few CVT Honda's I've driven are still much better than others like Nissan
I'm a peasant so I probably go LX
I need 16” with big tires because I use my civic in Baja Mx. the rods are horrible 🛞
More dead pan.
Ex is probably the best choice but I'm going with Touring.
The Touring has a lot to offer for under $30K!

I’ve noticed this too actually, they’re all 1.5 turbos. Didn’t they have issues with oil consumption?
@@cruisecontrolcars oil dilution is fixed if you change your oil every 5k with 0w-16. problem is the types who buy civics don't maintain their cars
