My Dad and Grandpop were the 2nd largest potato growers in the north east from 1936 to 1969. Grandpop died in November of 1968. The farm had already been sold but Dad was given the option to keep farming with only the cost of the upkeep of the farm. Dad decided to find someone else to lease the farm and our neighbor, Robert W. (Bob) England took on the lease. I farmed on shares with him from the spring of 1978 to the fall of 1884. We grew superiors mostly for chips with some early potatoes to market for repacks. Our farm in south Jersey is now a big industrial park just off exit 7a of the Jersey turnpike.
It’s great to see the harvest of the potatoes from field to grocery store . So support your local farmers. And thank you Emily for another great video . Bree seams to real like the farm life too…
Great video Emily! Harvesting potatoes has come a long ways since the days we woud dig two rows at a time! Great to see what an adaptable TH-camr you're becoming, when the harvesting operation broke down you pivoted to provide entertaining content until they were ready to go!! Looking forward to more interesting video, thanks!! 😊😊
In my farm garden i grow a variety called Nicola. This year, besides in ground planting, I also planted in six cattle lick tubs with drip irrigation. With five sets in each tub, my yield was fantastic.
I’m a little confused. Forgive me. You say way but you’re only dating him. So you’re not really part of the operation? Thank you for explaining God bless
Just sharing the reality of the day on the farm. They weren’t able to pick the potatoes on the first day because it got too warm, but there was still other stuff going on that we could share. Thanks for watching.
Great job unloading the potatoes from the truck young lady
