This sound used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. Take a wrong turn on streets and seeing the soldiers slowly march towards you and the screams of multiple rockets flying towards you gave me nightmares.
You get use to it lol.

does anyone know where this rocket launcher sound comes from?
I'd imagine very old sound effects in movies lol.
@SteveMatheus Has to be older than that.
The source is a world war 2 era depth charge launcher. The explosive charge that propels the bomb overboard made this sound.
It made its way from newsreel recordings into several commercial sound libraries...and from there into many movies and games.
