It is still one of my favourite shows of all times at BOTY. There may be a few individual shows that were prettier or cooler - first or second Expression Crew's performance, second Gamblerz performance, second Ichigeki's performance, T.I.P. in 2007, and a few more - but I believe this show here is still awesome, and overall hugely important for the history of BOTY. The number of views shows this too if you compare it to other shows. But let me explain why I think it is such an important performance ... Extreme Crew did a follow-up show with a pirate theme in 2008, which was good, but nowhere as good as the one they did here in 2007. I think 2007 was their peak performance. We all knew that korea slowly became famous back in the days starting from 2001. Anyone remember Bboy Mute and his airtracks? That stunned even Bboy Salah back then. Then came expression and then gamblers (or gamblerz, however you want to call them), which REALLY broke records. But as gamblers became famous, Obowang (Extreme Crew) had old video clips available from 2001 to 2004 or 2005 or so, and they actually were even better (!) than the gamblers folks. They really were EXTREME powermovers back in the days. So the performance they did here in 2007 was really a tribute by them to that era of where people tried new powercombinations, starting from 2001. Even youtube did not exist back then (youtube was created in 2005). We old people remember the era from 1995 to 2005, so in many ways, obowang's performance was a farewell tribute to that era too. So the show here is KIND of a historic show, because they integrated tons of tricks into one show. Sure, they crashed and made many mistakes, but remember, that's 2007, even WITH these mistakes their performance was still SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL than the other crews that participated in 2007 that it is no surprise they won. It really is a historic show if you think about it, and it is their farewell show (even though they participated in 2008) because the crew didn't really do that much individually. Some of them, such as bboy blonde, still danced afterwards, but 2007 was really their peak activity and thus their farewell to the bboy generation from back then. Bboying changed, and I think it's not as interesting and good as it once was, so it's KIND of a farewell by the older generation too, and the newer generation picking up. Even in 2022, though, I still think that show would be a very, very good one - perhaps not the hardest tricks today (many powerheads today do INSANE combinations) but it would still be a REALLY great show. But it is important because it really is a HISTORIC farewell show to that era. Remember that was the era when bboy physicx became a legend too! It was my favourite era from bboying, e. g. 2002 to 2005 or so, and perhaps up to 2007 as well.
Hey, thanks for sharing your perspective, I enjoyed reading that. I'm not really super knowledgable about bboying history or culture, but I always got the impression this crew were really on another level. I'm interested to find out, though... is it at all well known in bboying circles that Blonde appeared on the Australian version of So You Think You Can Dance in 2014? I'm Australian, and that show absolutely blew me away. Blonde was so, so good in it, showing that he really could dance in a variety of styles.

I'm curious to know what the b-boy community thought of it, whether they thought it was cool that he got to display skills outside of b-boying or whether they thought it was kind of lame. Or whatever the cool kids are saying these days.

보티 코리아에서의 퍼포먼스가 진짜지.. 배틀 때 필살기용 무브들을 퍼포먼스에 많이 넣었는데 본선이라 긴장했는지 킬링포인트마다 실수가 있어 너무 아쉽다
