You get that same headwind situation going from Pueblo Colorado to Colorado Springs, Colorado. You can have that pedal stuck to the floor and you can't get above 50mph. The headwind was so bad one day that it flattened the mirror stalks on both doors to the sides of the truck. Loving the view from the front windshield.
If you get a chance, check out Bullhead City "AZ" - "Laughlin NV" right on the Colorado River. It's a mini Las Vegas and is pretty fun. Also lots of RV parks right there at the Casino's :))
