Good afternoon I really need your help. We were testing Switch ECS4100 and my technician unselected the L3 Interface option of Vlan 1 and now we can no longer access the switch through the brownser. Can you reset to factory default? Do you know this Switch?
OK I did this but nothing happened is there a troubleshooting process what does it mean if it just stays solid Wait when I’m holding the reset button down
Just got a brand new one of these. It's my 2nd. The 1st went smoothly and was deployed. This one though seems to have nvram issues and refuses to connect to UNMS or save any config. It throws errors when trying to backup a config. Legacy UI shows completely different config I created than the New UI, it's all kinds of messed up. I see what you were talking about in another video about how it can mess up on the VLAN port configuration and be completely misleading. The worst part is as soon as power goes out BOOM it wipes itself back to half factory default and half my config, seemed like memory corruption issues. It would keep the IP settings but wipe the device name and most other options I'd set. VLANs were all over the place hosed. Tried replacing the startup config with a fully configured running config. Nope, it still froze up, required a reboot, and configs went poof. Upgrading or even downgrading firmware had no effect. I don't want to RMA a brand new EdgeSwitch Lite 24. I've spent the better part of a day on this thing now and all the work done to setup vlans is pointless every time I have to restart it because it freezes constantly. Since I took it out of the box it refused to connect to UNMS. Previously if I put in my UNMS controller it would spin infinitely and freeze the Ui requiring a hard restart and BOOM wipe my configs again and again. EDIT: I was afraid to reset it because this thing was so messed up I thought it might brick itself. After watching your video I got the courage up to factory reset it as a last resort. Then logged in using only the New UI, created my VLANs, and voila it's now saving config files and it finally connected to UNMS in about 10 seconds. Ugh! It's all fixed now. Wish I would have done that 8 hours ago! Upgraded FW remotely she's all good to go now. So yes sometimes a factory reset can be very helpful.
Great Videos I am learning a lot. Thanks for all your hard work. I have a question have you done a video on Port Security yet? For the cases of people whos switch and such is not in a truly secured area. Would Mac filtering or something be a way to prevent anyone from plugging into your network and accessing your network?
Thanks for the reply. I did disable the ports we don't use. But we have a couple of ports through out the place that we use to plug in our laptop to access server information. I just dont want anyone to be able to plug into our network and access server information. Hope that makes sense
I always just buy Hp Procurve 3500yl-48g-Poe+ Switch for $112 used. I haven't found a need that they haven't filled. Super nice. They have four really really weird 10gig ports though, haven't found an adapter to convert them to fiber for longer runs.

No clue what'd it'd cost to ship it to the USA but I'll see what I can do :) cdn.pximg.xyz/c1650578adca31c8e822e1002a566238.jpg
