I've been detecting 3 years haven't found gold yet, lots of silver jewelry. I won't sell my finds, I have some old relics. My first old relic is a late 1800's pad lock , found in a local park. Happy Hunting!

I agree with you by keeping your first find. The good news is at least you know when you find other gold/silver and if you want to sell it, you can always bring it to that jeweller. To bad it wasn’t a real diamond this time but it’s only a matter of time before it is. Cheers my friend
I still have all the gold, silver and diamonds I've found since I started detecting last year. The local shops in Hilo won't pay much so might send to Midwest Refineries on the mainland. They pay 90-95% of the melt value. Not sure what else to do?
Keep hunting, you’ll find some awesome jewelry out there. Keep all your finds unless you absolutely need it. It’s kind of like a backup savings account. 🤙
We both found our first gold rings this year bin at it for two. We have a couple of diamonds we have to check they look really nice. We're new subs good luck. Keep swinging

You need to get a Diamond Tester and don't always go with your first jewelry store and always get another opinion and Diamond Tester are not that much cost anymore and you will know yourself if it is Real, before you go to the store and They tell you that it's not real Diamond's and then you will know to not go to that Jewelry Store and get Cheated l... Out of the Real Thing....

My first ring was stamped sterling . Started this hobby 5 months ago and my wife now has 2n silver rings I found. Keep on digging!

Sadly most places don't pay well.
Took it to a pawn shop too for shits and giggles... Guy offered me $60 lol so I guess I'll be holding on to everything I find for a while...
The money you can get fore gold in the UK is well hi and not bad fore some cash fore some of the finds
A diamond tester doesn't cost very much

Top tip,they dont set diamonds in silver,had a detector over 30 years on and off,oldest silver coin 32BC
