What you are saying here is absolutely spot on Adam. I have been guilty of being too connected in my art from many years of standing neigong. I think it’s important to note that this is a very advanced practice because if you don’t have Song, structure and body connection, you have nothing to let go into. Just my five cents lol I love your content Adam! Keep up the good work 🙏🏻
Superb video. Structure is just the start. Beyond structure there is freedom. Beyond the centre there is no centre. Beyond the method is innovation. Holding structure is just another kind of tension. Let it go! Flow! The way that can be spoken of is not The Way.
Hands down, this is the best modern Kung Fu channel out there! My Kung Fu skills have improved so much, and I’m absolutely loving the content and online course. Huge thanks to Adam and Chris! Wishing you and the entire community a Happy New Year filled with growth and success!
I just started Cloud Method. Your video is a good supplement to this training. Going from Still Water to Soaring Cloud and ending with Thunder Punch to return to Still Water, I was having difficulty being cloud like. Your explanation helped me understand better. Thank you 🙏
Exatly Gentlemen, things are devoloping in stages. We first learn the sturcture and the form than with time and experience start softening this structure, and later becoming soft yet capable of dismantling the opponent´s structure. Many thanks and All the best for the coming New year of 2025, Paul,69
so many different ways to be...in my seventies now, so most of my decision making is in my past. still, you make a lot of sense, as well as making your decisions seem very worthwhile.
@@animus3312 the internal arts that I named, do all three. It's just what they specialize. As for Ip Man's Wing Chun, it really sucks at all three. You literally have to brute force it. The Siu Lim Tao form is super bad in building structure. The reason being is that it's an index of a little bit of everything, rather than specifically focused on building internal power. People that manage to figure it out either have another background in internal arts or just really obsessive and mindlessly train it 8 hours a day until something happens (luck).
@Simon2k17 I agree that it seems it has lost certain elements in recent times but at its base it is still a jack of all trades and this is apparent I'm the variation between lineages. I've been to many schools, some focus on nothing but structure, some focus more on agility, some focus on yielding. I don't believe the power generation is so different from xingyi. There is no santishi standard across the lineages but some do horse stance and it also has the long pole which acts similar to the spear training for power generation. I'd also say the differences between the standard Wing Chun punch and Bengquan are very slight when done correctly.
This freedom of movement seems very reminiscent of some kind of Gnostic knowledge. Difficult to explain and understand, and about much more than just martial arts...
Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the new flow of Chris videos?

This is in my humble view an excellent demonstration and explanation as well as transmission.

Thanks Adam and Chris 💯 💪
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great thanks 🙏
As the "Heart Sutra" teaches: "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form."
Xingyi is fortifying the center.
Bagua is moving the center.
Tai Chi is dissolving the center.

In theory Wing Chun does all of these but lineages almost always get stuck on just one.
@@animus3312 TBF all serious martial arts should do all of these - shrugs

Greetings Adam, from an Engineering point of view Human. Correct. Thank you for being clear☀️♥️☀️
To eventually be formless (free flowing) is what I would like to eventually become. Not many follow this path.
Duuuuuuuudeee thank youuuuuuu. Ahhhhhhhh 😊😊whoooooo

Too bad you don't do Taiji Quan too. You have the skills to do even "softer" styles.
Another video, another leathering for poor old Chris 😂🤣

Babbling or just free form verbal expression? 😅
