What is shocking is the media has focused on Biden's minor gaffs in the debate, and not the majority of excellent things he said, and given the horrific lying, delusional, and bullying performance of Trump not one word of appropriate criticism.

I will be voting for Biden no matter what, but what we saw was not minor. Not just a senior moment or two. He did have a cold and was probably also exhausted by overly preparing for the debate. Elderly people often get quite confused when they have a minor illness. You could clearly see he was having long episodes of confusion, even not seeming to know where he was at one point. I am glad he was able to come back at some of trump's nonstop lies, though. Biden has done so very much for our country! He still has much to offer. Trump has absolutely nothing good to offer except life under his dictatorship. I believe Biden will win because he wants to preserve our democracy, which is what the majority of Americans want.
@@Upstream5402 Agree with you about Trump's total unsuitability. But your opinion of Biden is not accurate. Obama had a poor debate too. Was that cause he was young? Elderly people are not all alike, any more than younger people are all ignorant, or irresponsible, or blacks all like watermelon, or any other stereotype is accurate. Biden did seem exhausted, he'd worked a full day running the country, recently flown long distances twice, as well as over prepared, had a cold, and probably in shock at the plethora of nut case statements by Trump. But it was clearly not a systemic problem, or he wouldn't have been full of life and batting 1000 the next day in NC. where he spoke quite coherently to standing ovations. I sincerely hope Biden will win, in spite of the false rhetoric of the Republicans, and fake news trying to hype up false drama.

Yes, and even reporters trying to list all the lies in real time, couldn't keep up, because #45 was spouting them so fast and furious. Yet, media blames Biden for not addressing them in real time enough so report that Biden did a poor job. Yes, he was sick and had been all week, low energy, brain foggy from it, but he showed up anyway and did his best. Too much expectation on Biden and not enough expectation of candidate #45 to come prepared with what he is going to do for the country-----he showed us it is NOTHING. People see this. There’s enough smart Americans that knows what is the best for America and it is voting for Biden at this time to save democracy.
I explained to my granddaughter about my take on that debate. I asked her how she would react if someone lied every minute or so during a 90 minute debate, and she not only had to answer the question by the moderators but also call out her opponents lies. I asked her how she would react and how effective would she be in this debate. I have a new Biden voter after this conversation.

His debate performance was inexplicably bad. Yes, we're nervous. But we all agree he's been an extremely productive president. Would we have liked to see him a little less tone deaf in that interview with Stephanoupolis, where he came off as defensive and a bit too dismissive? Hell yes. But he passed. He put together coherent sentences and made his case the best he could, though admittedly we would have preferred to see him demonstrate more awareness of our collective angst. Personally, I don't care if he poops out as president because Kamala can take the reins. Positioning Kamala as President Harris is putting the cart before the horse, imo, at a time when we need to circle the wagons and go full steam ahead--against Trump. I'm less worried about Biden's age than Trump getting back into office.

Just so you know, we, across the pond, have had our General Election. We all voted Labour and kicked out the conservatives because we were so pissed off with them. I was not in favour of Brexit because our children and our children's children have only known the EU. My thinking was that we should have held the EU accountable for how they spent the money that various countries were paying them whilst withholding the money until we had proper audited accounts from them. The only way to do that was to stay in the EU and hold them accountable for what was happening with our money.

I don't care whether our nominee is Biden or Harris, I actually prefer Harris but he have to get behind whoever to is the nominee, it is our democracy to save.
