Thanks for the kind words everyone! I've had a few people ask about the commercial setup so here are some some brief instructions below. I may do a video on this setup in-depth in the future: 1. Download and burn the image to your Raspberry PI from here videolooper.de/ 2. Set the is_random flag in the videolooper.ini to true 3. Download all the commercials you want from here archive.org/details/VideoGameCommercials_201902 4. Convert them to .M4V or another format that it works with via Handbrake 5. Load on a flash drive and it will play automatically Purumui Purumui (Playstation) - Temple of the World Tree Bomberman 64 Second Attack (N64) - Horizon 1 Paper Mario (N64) - Shooting Star Summit Breath of Fire 4 (Playstation) - The End and the Beginning III Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life (Gamecube) - Song of Silence
QB Smash sent me here and I'm so grateful that he did. Such a great video and I was able to relive my childhood through it. Thank for the nostalgia trip!
This is a really cool gameroom. I've always loved smaller and more focused spaces and your interests really take the forefront here. Awesome to see how much love went into displaying the artwork rather than the physical games - thats something you dont see much! :)
Badass retro game room. CRT's are just a must have, only thing I'm missing in my setup. Everything is presented beautifully, it's always satisfying to see people's collections displayed with such intention. Sure, the room is small, but you use the space wisely and make it very inviting. It doesn't 'feel' small watching the video. Good stuff!
I'm in love with your setup man, its so cozy and I always enjoy when the collection is only with the games you play and enjoy, I'm actually purging my collection selling off everything I don't really need anymore. AWESOME! room tour.
such a great room! looks real clean, cozy and personalized. i also had a tommy gocha machine at one point, 2 of em in fact. even had placed it them at a pizza parlor to sell some toys. sold em off as i moved a few cities over but they were so cool to have. i agree, not much info out there on them.
Love what you said about looking at the "heart" When I first started collecting I was trying to get EVERYTHING I could for a good deal. I soon realized that I don't care to have a HUGE collection and would much rather see the classics/hits in my collection that actually mean something! Awesome collection bro
the gacha machine is honestly something I never figured I'd need. That's suck a cool way to collect small figures. And I don't collect them, but I do like the idea of collecting them to fill up the gacha machine. Idk just a cool little side thing. I am not even into gacha shit. I personally think you're better off keeping the same color scheme than white and blue. Very cool gameroom overall
My recommendation for the Sony KV-13M42, instead of just using a rasberry pi to play commercials, I run a twitch stream of Classic CN shows with old CN city bumps and commercials (including lots of retro game/toy/etc commercials, including those segata commercials). If that sounds like your bag, I'll link you the stream. It's on twitch and usually pretty stable. I run a backup on Vaughn as well. I had an ol d9inch crt, well still have, but in my dorm it was setup as my main tv on my dresser. I hooked it up to my PC via hdmi and would watch the stream on it. Genuinely was an awesome experience. You could probably even get it setup so that pi runs the stream. Also, that's not supposed to be one big commercial. It's a bunch of commercials.
Cool space that you have put together. Although the "game collector" label suits so many people, It's pretty interesting to see how different they can be. Thanks for the tour!
I really love your game room! I love video game art work so I definitely agree it looks better front facing like that. Where did you get the posters and the frames? Those look sick!
Thank you! The posters are mainly the 11 x 17 promotional posters that Nintendo give out at conventions and some cheap amazon frames. The posters are pretty cheap on ebay if you search "11 x 17 nintendo promotional poster"
This is all really cool, but I think the funniest thing in this whole video is that you called The Shiny version of sudowoodo a weird banana version lol
proof that you don't need whole basement cluttered with stuf to be in a happy place. Looks cosy and inviting. Don'f fall in the trap to have everything but just the things that make you really happy.
I absolutely love doing cable management it makes everything looks so much better it makes you look like you actually care you can get these little tiny velcro straps from Walmart from onn brand in the entertainment section for just a few dollars they work like a dream
Thanks! List is below Purumui Purumui (Playstation) - Temple of the World Tree Bomberman 64 Second Attack (N64) - Horizon 1 Paper Mario (N64) - Shooting Star Summit Breath of Fire 4 (Playstation) - The End and the Beginning III Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life (Gamecube) - Song of Silence
If those cables bother you, you could tape black contrition paper or black felt to the back of each of the boxes on your tv stand where you put your consoles
Love your setup man! Gave me a ton of ideas! Quick question - why do you have two of the switches on top of the small Sony tv? Also, do you have a video on how to set up that commercial thing? That’s an awesome idea I so so want to do in my game room!
Glad you like it! The two switches on top are just regular 8 port AV switchers I use for component switching. Top one is for RGB and bottom is audio. Cheaper than most of the component switchers I've found. I don't have a video on the commercials setup though I might do one soon. Some brief instructions below: 1. @@vileslair I typed a reply but i think I forget to press send. Thank you for the detailed reply! I am ordering two of those switches for my setup tomorrow! Love love love it! Going to take my setup to a whole different level! I would love a video on that commercial thing man! I have an extra gaming pc that I have no use for after I upgraded a few months ago, so I’m going to use it for this! It’s a bit bulkier than a rasberrypi, but it saves me from spending the money haha.
Haha…I thought I was the only one that didn’t care about cable management…Glad to see I’m not. Nice room. Not out of control but just right imo. The worst thing you can do imo opinion is to over clutter your space. Your layout is inviting yet feels open even though it’s a small room. I hate seeing rooms that are cluttered and don’t have a single spot open in the room. They seem like I would feel suffocated in that type of space. Great job!
Where did you get the glass shelves to separate the cube storage spaces? I've been looking for a solution to do the same thing and I've never seen that before.
Most of my newer consoles and flat panel TV's are in another room in the basement and up in the living room. I never really liked the look and feel of having CRT's and LCD's in the same area.

You're super blessed my guy, beautiful game room! I'm just now starting to build one of my own, and DEFINITELY will have tons of inspo from yours!
Thank you and glad you got some inspiration from it!

I appreciate that you have everything dusted!

Very nice room! I love Game! !from japan
I think you mean TOSHIBA! 🙈
I love Spirit Tracks
Nice room. YOu can ignore cable management better if you get some cheap white poster board to put on the back.
That is on my list to do!
Great Room !! 😁

Love when people use PVM's they're so cool!
Japanese N64 boxes are so much better than the US! Nice Clean set up!
Thanks and definitely agree!

I've been thinking about doing just that, just need to find the right materials, thanks!
Very cool room! What stands are you using for your n64 console and controller? Its look very cool like the way you have them!
Thanks! I 3D printed them from this file:

How in the world did you get your hands on that TOMY ❤
That Dragon Quest Monsters Encyclopedia looks so cool!
Yes thanks to cheap sugars and vegetable oils
I like it, I can't handle these ones you see with 5 kioks and 20000 games, prefer these more focused affairs.
Top
❤
This is freaking sick! How is dragon quest? I’m not huge in anime but I’d like to try out some of the games since that’s mainly the switch library
They are fantastic in my opinion. Very charming and not over the top at all. I would recommend Dragon Quest 11 if you can get it on sale!
That Toshiba tv weighs more than everything else combined

I'm assuming there was no WAF to deal with. Correct?
WAF?

Also curious about these!
They are from Ikea! www.ikea.com/us/en/p/kallax-glass-shelf-70423765/
Hello !! Holaaaa
I honestly think you could do better with more effort so keep going those things are gonna be 9999 in rate
whoa
He got Coryoon too.
That game probably cost more than all those TV's in there...lol
That game costs more than anything in the whole room lol It's actually running off of my RGB-Pi setup, it's just tucked away behind the TV.
in 500 years, ppl will see this vid:)
coryoon 🥹💖
Where’s your new TVs & modern consoles/games?
Most of my newer consoles and flat panel TV's are in another room in the basement and up in the living room. I never really liked the look and feel of having CRT's and LCD's in the same area.
Please do a game room tour of the modern gaming area.
