I would like to see form the perspective of Oceania but not a english speaking territory, maybe Oceanic Brazil or Argentina, also a version of how the world changed to how it is in the book, they only talk about a revolution and nuclear war in the 50s, 60s, but I dont find a way for the UK to take over the US and Brazil I also would like a version from a point of view of a teen who grows in the 1990s Oceania, explaining how the youth live on Oceania (the book only says they present a test at age 16 to join the party) and how that guy grows in a fanatic family until he joins the army and then the book explains what happens to soldiers who fought in wars that according to the party never happened
Not really, it's made very clear in the book that all parts of the world function in nearly identical ways, all have their own ideology which keeps the oligarchy in power. What would be interesting howver would be to see the disputed territory in Africa, maybe life is less monitored over there, that could be interesting to see
I'm so glad I'm not the only "1984" freak.....I've read the book at least a dozen times and I totally "get" what it's about. But this music moves me to tears.....useless, illogical tears....
May be my favorite book, it's true it's not always easy to find people to talk to about it, especially on the web. ...I only like Big Brother as a comrade.
This staticky version gives the impression that INGSOC was really only britian, and some person in what’s left of nuked Europe, let’s say Ireland, is listening to a broadcast thinking “y’know, maybe I’ll stay here”
I read this unbelievably beautiful novel when I was 14, since then I'm not the same person. I became obsessed with this movie and bought the soundtrack on itunes. Thanks for doing this man, in this dark times it is extremely neccesary.
(OUT OF 1984 CHARACTER) This would likely come froma timeline where Oceania was the North Korea of Europe and controlled only the UK, and old footage of the anthem was leaked to the public and put on TH-cam.
I couldn't quite put my finger on why this was so affecting to me or why it worked so well with what I saw when reading 1984 the book but then it hit me. It works so well because above all it is a *love song*. Most fictional anthems for totalitarian states seem to be interested in showing exactly how evil the regime they are criticising - for example the theme of Panem, or the star wars imperial theme. This one is different. I feel tears of joy when I hear of this, love for some fictional land even though I know its incomprehensibly evil. And above all, thats what 1984 is, its a love story, more precisely a love triangle. Its about someone stepping out on his abusive spouse and cheating on them with someone, that abusive spouse finding out and gaslighting them so severely that they fall back into the abusive relationship. And the final thing - at least in the movie - they hear is this anthem and they reaffirm their original love. so what I guess I'm saying is that this is bloody brilliant.
A big mistake on my part, but I would have to edit everything over again to fix it. I will probably upload more music / songs from the soundtrack (and, perhaps edit something else) in the near future. Thanks for the feedback.
Let's imagine that those are VHS and cassette tape combined into two and let's think the half of VHS and half of cassette tape or some apparatus are likely ruined after the fall of INGSOC. (I based this comment on the video, that comment and 1984 Appendix written in formal English or "Oldspeak" and in form of past tense.)
Imagine that this really happened, but somehow no one remembers, you walk by and see a black flag with the party symbol on it, see a tape with the music, think it's something from a book or a movie but what it's actually history that was forgotten
I like 1984 because I love imagining what will happen when the vampire economy the superpowers have collapses in on it’s self and the whole world gets Balkanized.
There is a theory, one that I subscribe to that Oceania is extremely isolationist. Think about it; why would they place their capital, (the ministries) so close to the Eurasian Front Lines. It simply makes no sense when one thinks about it unless the country only has mainland Britain under it’s control, and the other things like the never ending war and the existence of Oceania outside of Britain, and the existences of Eurasia and Eastasia.
Who else would love to see a 1984 but from the perspective of Eurasia or Eastasia?
@Joseph Stalin cool!! You should upload here when finished

This is not TH-cam anthem, if it was there would be an advert halfway thru.
