You can just restart the game to skip combat same strategy you should use vs exodia pirates if you want a turn. Blizzard is stupid

The game ended at 27:46 when the deck-tracker app showed the rewards track xp. There were 4 more minutes of animations.
Yes, 30:10 the battle outcome is rolled after the end of each turn, the battle is just the animations, a visual representation of your probability to win/lose. That is why turns are skipped, because the timer is the same for all players - clock begins to tick after each turn.

I think competitive spirit is much worse, as it just takes a spot the entire round
The minion with deathrattle doesn't reborn itself because the trigger for secrets comes into play after resolving its death. In the case of the macaw, after attacking (and knowing it received lethal damage) it stays on pending destroy but before that the attacking trigger has to be resolved (which puts Redemption into play) and that's why the macaw can actually revive itself.
I did this without really thinking of it as a build the other day. Almost lost though as the 3rd place guy bought a low attack taunt, so my bird didn't die and it stopped the respawning loop. But managed to kill him anyway. The other chap had a monstrous Dragon build, so it took a lot of birds ramming into him to get him, but we got there slowly.

I went up against this yesterday and then had a ten second turn before going against my next opponent, that REALLY pissed me off ... Blizzard NEEDS to speed up the secret spam, because this is straight up ridiculous.
They need to test new shit they release in the first place. I mean....wtf xD

Seriously really it goes to show how much the programmers listen to the testers.
The problem never is the testers, they do find the bugs and flaws, its just the programmers who fail, and sometimes its not the programmers fault because management is breathing down their necks to "get the job done yesterday" because "you found too many bugs"
So maybe its just to BS college corpo goons who are the problem
@@Patrickf5087 I hate to break it to you but the programmers are the villains here too, it the execs who keep pushing both testers and programmers to do ore better faster harder more more more more never stop keep going. So there is just no time to fix edge cases like this one
@@sunbleachedangel how is it an edge case? Its literally the default idea of any death rattle. And it showed that from design to implementation that no one questioned what would happen when a mainstay like baron and a beast that triggers death rattle on attack would do.

The people who decided to PUT thr buddy into the game FAILED to realize when triggering secrets would cause.
Other than say, preventing ice block from being in the list of possible outcomes.
This brings me back to when Nozdormu would skip your turn because of super slow animation times. You’d think Blizzard would get it figured out by now

Iceblock can come from the buddy, the thing is, the way Iceblock is coded in BGs is, once it's been in play, it gets removed from the pool of possible secrets.
So, when you get it from the heropower, you can't get it from the buddy any longer.
When you get it from the Buddy, you can't get it from the Hero Power any longer.
Dont think so, on 23:00 he lost ice block, played 2 more games where ton of secrets was played and didnt get it, it is low chance for so many secret that this particular one dont come.
That was absolutely a gem. Laughed until I cried.
By far this is the best video Kripp has ever produced, some amazing BGs content.

Friendly reminder that certain heroes were removed from rotation because they were buggy, but this somehow skipped their radar
Funnily enough, one of them was Akazamzarak because you could get it to a point where you were guaranteed an Iceblock and you could hold the opponent hostage
Come on now, the hearthstone "team" is one dev, 2 interns and a roomba, and they're doing their best. They had to downsize again last year so that Bobby Kotic could get his 14th yacht.
I'm pretty sure they spawn golden because all the code for this was taken from regular Hearthstone, where golden secrets always spawn golden cards

@@juanmanuelruizromero7989 Macaw is strange like that. It's the same with guldrin, Guldrin doesn't buff itself before it dies potentially making it survive the way macaw does. It's to do with the whenever mechanic, which has to complete before the minion dies; unlike death rattles which complete after the minion dies.

Ice block IS possible to get from the buddy, but only if you have not already gotten it before.
I stole the buddy with Scabbs and it gave me iceblock that turn which saved me from dying.

If blizzard spend more time testing and developing the game instead of sexually harassing their employees maybe it would have worked.

That turn 11 fight took 3 minutes and 20 seconds.
The Deryl fight took full 5 minutes.
Things to know about this amazing round:
1) Kripp was not just skipping his turns. He was skipping his opponents turns each time as well, assuming they did not close the game and rejoin to skip the battle.
2) This build is a LOT stronger without having Ice Block set by his hero power. Gives an extra Secret slot during combat, nearly guaranteeing the Redemption chain.
3) This build sucks against the lightning spam enemy he died to unless you get a lot of stats on your minions, if it wasn't obvious from the results. Just enough to survive all the lightning is good enough.
also rolling the secret that gives +1/+1 at the start of your turn is realy bad because it also takes a slot out of the other usefull secrets (but this is out of your control)
Amalgadons and golden minions would have helped
This might be connected to another bug that is a few months old: for some time now, Shudderwock can skip turns if he takes too long. You can get turns of over 30 minutes with the right combos, and after that, several turns for both players will just zip by, just visible by drawn (and discarded) cards. The effect is relatively new. Can be avoided if both players shut down their game early enough and reconnect.
Same with any leapfrogger build.
I dont know why I am cackling like a mad man at this but I am not gonna stop LOL

At a "why don't they eat cake" level. How many options do the Amazon workers have to find a new job? Or people in Detroit's auto industry? Or coal miners? Plenty of people with unpleasant jobs at a level of income where you can't save up.
I think we tend to overuse the word broken when referring to mechanics or heroes in games but this is the true definition of absolutely broken.
i got an ice block off this buddy while playing as mr bigglesworth, my buddy gave me his buddy as the random card for that round, i do think however that the 'once per game' trigger still exists because it never gave it to me again, so likely just follows the same rules the normal hero power does.
There really should be a resolve combat button, maybe have it appear after a set amount of time, or just let people skip the animations. Idk why this is such a complicated concept for blizzard

As far as I can tell this hero is now a bit more complex and potentially a bit more powerful. Since the buddy is a battlecry that gives another buddy its possible you can play it with Brann and get multiples, right? Or use Jandice's power to cycle it repeatedly (though I don't think that's as valuable, but who knows). With some hero power choices you may be able to cheat out some extreme power spikes if you're playing mega greedy, but its offset by needing board space.
Oh, and you get a free gold when you sell the buddy. So there's a straight up buff.

Hey krip I just found a bug you could feature, if you use triple khadgar and triple lich buddie, his buddy reborns multiple times with reborn, so you end having an infinite loop if its played cprrectly
I wonder how this passed QC. Either Blizzard has lost too many competent employees recently, or they just do not care about BG since it is not monetized. Because as said, this was very predictable with their slow animations.
this hero is the ultimate proof that they do 0 playtest, as Kripp says, that build is the first thing that any player is going to try to do, the only way the could not find out that it brakes the game is by simplty not testeing the hero even once.

I thought this was obvious with the broken Razorgore+Whelp Smuggler interaction. Would've caught it after playing a single game with dragons in it, so presumably they just never test actual gameplay at all.
Blizzard doesn't test their games anyone. If it wasn't for their art teams, no one would play their stuff with how low quality it really is.
Let's not pretend they ever properly play tested shit. Remember shudderwock's release? Or Priest's turnskipping spell generation? All obvious combos that broke the game, sometimes literally by crashing it. This is bad, yes, but not unprecedented.

Someone using this hero against me started with no secrets. He ended the round with ice block. He MUST have gotten it from the buddy.
Its not that the buddy cant get the ice block, is that you can only get it once, that one time can come out from your HP or your buddy, but its still only one time

Random question: If Rafaam faces the secret hero and kills the 2/3 cobra, does it get added to his hand? It’s obviously in BGs via the secret and the card exists in constructed, I just don’t know if the animation for it being put into your hand is there.
Rafaam can get anything. Even back when pirate Paggle spawned a chest he could get it

Finley is a bit screwy this patch. I had him masquerading as Nguyen, the hero power when I played his buddy was Mutanus, that's whose buddy I got instead of Master Nguyen.

N'Zoth Rat Tokens Leapfrogger can also skip turns when it's fully online so I don't actually see a problem with Alakazam there slowing down the game, and I actually wouldn't be opposed to a few extra stalls built into it
