It's well known that Buster Keaton's MGM talkies aren't up to the high standards of his silent output, but it's also unfair to say they're terrible films. SPEAK EASILY, for example, is entertaining and has some genuinely funny moments. Plus, any movie with the delightful Thelma Todd is worth the price of admission, and Jimmy Durante, like Keaton, is a legendary performer in his own right. So even if Keaton's creativity was compromised, there are other aspects to his pre-code MGM films that makes them worthwhile.
Faut la mgm a voulu faire un duo et en regardant ce film ont voi bien que le grand buster est réduit comme 2eme couteaux . De plus buster la écrit et dit ce comédien Jimi durante ne fesait que parlé en permanence et vraiment il voyait bien que ça carrière et ces grands films étaient derrière lui . La mgm a detruit et dénaturer sont personnage . Enfin il a comme même fait une carrière complète avec des films aux entipodes de ce que lui avait des courts métrages en 3 jours et parfois quand ont la laisser travaillé ça donne une séquence et un sketch géniale .
A un moment il a abdiquer avec tout ces abrutis . Ce qui est arrivé aux duo laurel et hardy entre 1941 et 1945 stan a la fox et la mgm pour leurs 8 derniers films américains . Stan je n avait plus de contrôle sur le tournage . Ceci dit ce qui fait l intérêt des films mediocres ces qu'il y a le grand buster keaton et pour les laurel et hardy de même.

Amen!! one of my all time favourites of Buster is The Rail Rodder, it was filmed in colour in the 1960's, and i believe it was his final film , though im not sure on that. But it is Awesome, and i recommend it to every Keaton fan out there. there is also a documentary film of the production of Rail Rodder which has great insight into Busters creative process and input. cheers 🧓
ps. the documentary on the film is Buster Keaton Rides Again. well worth seeing. the Railrodder was made 1965. ❤🎥👍

MGM ruined every great comedian it "owned." That these Keaton films are sound isn't the reason they stink, it's because MGM had zero idea how to do comedy and put horrible producers and directors in charge. Okay, yes, and Buster had problems with alcoholism when they were made.

Like 20th Centurry Fox with Laurel & Hardy, once big studios with MGM got involved with Buster Keaton, it was all down hill.
