While I grew up with the Atari 2600 as my family console, there was just something so special about getting a Sega Genesis for Christmas. Off the top of my head I absolutely loved playing Vectorman, Comix Zone, NBA Jam, Road Rash 3, RoboCop vs. Terminator and Mortal Kombat. This was a great list and so refreshing not to see the usual suspects.
I appreciate this channel as a whole in that it’s about reselling and also appreciation for the games showing that two things can be true you can be a reseller that actually cares about the content of a game
Great list Rick! Tommy Lasorda was one of my favorites too! My favorite baseball game was Sports Talk Baseball though. I really liked Demolition Man too.

Sega was also my first system that I actually played. I have memories of watching siblings playing Nintendo but not actually playing it. My parents could only afford two games so my list as a child had pretty much two Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Streets of Rage... But I always wanted the Lion King and the Aladdin game which I eventually got when I was older. AH I do remember playing The Lion King at my cousin's house so I guess I can add that to my list. Great video btw.
darkphoenixpool it was rough when u had a system and parents don’t or can’t buy games..it felt like an injustice to have the system I too played sonic 2 and nfl94 for a loooooong time until school started again ... we traded games like cards then ....you borrowed a game for a game in the school yArd and sometimes it went to just a permanent trade after a while... I can remember playing the life out of street fighter chmped & loaning it out for mortal Kombat 1..after a week it felt like such an injustice ...the kid gave me mortal Kombat 2 on top of that...it felt like a sweet deal at the time ..but after another two weeks...i was like man..screw this I miss my street fighter ...mortal Kombat wasn’t deep enough and the a.i was just cheap....the features was bare bones ..it only got fun with two players .. Thne a guy in My neighborhood..he was a teenager and he gave me games when he beat them after. A while...he was up to date on games he always seemed to buy the greatest games ..the first game he game me was streets of rage 2 🤯 🏅 Then super street fighter . The good ole days of being a kid 😢

Some of my favorites growing up were TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist, Battle Toads Double Dragon, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Aladdin, Gunstar Heroes, Primal Rage, and Ecco: The Tides of Time.
Wiz and Liz!!!!!! That moon! The bosses were why I loved it! And the carpet rise level is what what messed me up in Alladin. I love all the Disney games but was mentioning world of illusion right before you said it. 😂 this video gave me the feels!!

I know a lot of people dont like it but I always loved altered beast. I had the launch console that came with it. It's the only actual genesis game I still have from my childhood. I Always liked Stryder, M.U.S.H.A., and Sonic 1 as a kid. And still like them today.

This is uncanny! My brother had a Megadrive with Quack Shot and Busby, and we used to rent Bart's Nightmare, Wiz & Liz, World of Illusion, Tiny Toons and Aladdin all the time from our local Blockbuster! (they may have had Hyperstone Heist once, but we only saw it in Blockbuster that one time.)

My favourite Genesis games are Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3 and Vectorman 2. I've played all of these on the Ultimate Genesis Collection over on the XBOX 360, but I'd love to own those games on a physical cartridge
My favorite Genesis game was Golden Axe 3. Why it wasn't released in the US at the Genesis' peak in 1993 is beyond me. Still the best Genesis game imo.
I feel about Sega's Aladdin exactly how I feel about Game Gear's Lion King. If I were just a little bit older, both of those would be in the same category as Atari's E.T. :P

I love your list! This is a nice change from the typical semi-unanimous "Best Genesis Games Ever" lists, though I've discovered a lot of great games through those lists too. But yeah, I also have games like NFL Quarterback Club that I absolutely loved at the time, but which doesn't hold up quite as well now. I've recently gotten back into the Genesis, and collecting new (to me) games, and it's been fun and interesting trying to reconcile my childhood experience of the Genesis with my gaming preferences as an adult. There are a lot of games I would admit are "excellent" but I still don't have any interest in them. In general I'm not that into platformers, yet I love Castlevania Bloodlines. I've never cared about college football, but I think EA's last three 16-bit college football games are the pinnacle of football gaming, and perhaps even sports gaming, from the entire 16-bit era. I'm also always on the lookout for something outside-the-box that can surprise me, so I watch the "forgotten gems" videos.

Nice list. Recently played Tiny Toons for Mega Drive too. The tiny toon games for game boy where among my favorites as a kid. And I kinda like this game too! Also I played tons of Bubsy for SNES as a kid and never thought it was bad like everyone says. Bubsy is just as good as Sonic imho, both mediocre platformers with annoying mechanics.

This is uncanny! My brother had a Megadrive with Quack Shot and Busby, and we used to rent Bart's Nightmare, Wiz & Liz, World of Illusion, Tiny Toons and Aladdin all the time from our local Blockbuster! (they may have had Hyperstone Heist once, but we only saw it in Blockbuster that one time.)

My favourite Genesis games are Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3 and Vectorman 2. I've played all of these on the Ultimate Genesis Collection over on the XBOX 360, but I'd love to own those games on a physical cartridge

My favorite Genesis game was Golden Axe 3. Why it wasn't released in the US at the Genesis' peak in 1993 is beyond me. Still the best Genesis game imo.
I feel about Sega's Aladdin exactly how I feel about Game Gear's Lion King. If I were just a little bit older, both of those would be in the same category as Atari's E.T. :P

I love your list! This is a nice change from the typical semi-unanimous "Best Genesis Games Ever" lists, though I've discovered a lot of great games through those lists too. But yeah, I also have games like NFL Quarterback Club that I absolutely loved at the time, but which doesn't hold up quite as well now. I've recently gotten back into the Genesis, and collecting new (to me) games, and it's been fun and interesting trying to reconcile my childhood experience of the Genesis with my gaming preferences as an adult. There are a lot of games I would admit are "excellent" but I still don't have any interest in them. In general I'm not that into platformers, yet I love Castlevania Bloodlines. I've never cared about college football, but I think EA's last three 16-bit college football games are the pinnacle of football gaming, and perhaps even sports gaming, from the entire 16-bit era. I'm also always on the lookout for something outside-the-box that can surprise me, so I watch the "forgotten gems" videos.
Street of Rage 3 was mine. I know it's gets lots of hate but I really loved it and it's fast paced play.

Nice list. Recently played Tiny Toons for Mega Drive too. The tiny toon games for game boy where among my favorites as a kid. And I kinda like this game too! Also I played tons of Bubsy for SNES as a kid and never thought it was bad like everyone says. Bubsy is just as good as Sonic imho, both mediocre platformers with annoying mechanics.
