We Bought a CRASHED M3 - It's WORSE Than We Thought

  • We bought this BMW M3 from an online auction and it’s much worse than we thought.
    We’re trying to buy and sell our way up to a supercar from £15,000. And in this new series, the rules are simple. It has to be either a Ferrari or Lamborghini that is no older than Callum and I, so 1994 is the oldest we can go. No R8s, no 911s and no Maseratis. IF we do it, we actually get to keep it.
    We’d only seen the M3 in pictures, so it was time to see it for the first time.
    We stopped poking around so that we could get the car off the truck and into the workshop. Unfortunately, that wasn’t that easy.
    Before we’d had a proper look, I spotted something interesting

    Jesus, if that's not the epitome of "parts car", I don't know what is. Seeing as E46's are like lego, you could probably buy an estate and use all the M3 parts to make an M3 wagon. Providing it's done right, you might make some money, and would be an interesting watch. Would be a far easier than repairing all that bodywork, at least.

      Fire damage (depending on the severity of course) can be much easier to fix than a crashed car. Once the chassis is bent, you're in for a world of pain. The ridiculous amount of rust on this one is just the icing on the turd cake

    • @ku8721
      @ku8721 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tpiski Yes I DO agree that watching someone strip a car for parts wouldn't be very entertaining. And while I don't know the monetary setup of TH-cam I will say the easier and more profitable path for the regular man would be to part it out and make way more money back. But yes I'm looking forward to watching them go crazy trying to fix this thing.
      And in the end are they adding the TH-cam money to getting to the supercar??? If not then the fastest way to the goal is stripping and parting cars like that out, not fixing and selling.

    As a young millennial I look forward to following this series until I retire...and then continuing to follow it.
    Part it out and start with some other weird car, there's easily 8-10k in parts in that wreck. Make some funny episodes of the issues you have selling parts to people, no one wants to watch this thing get rebuilt. Maybe trade it for some weird vehicle like a Lagonda. There's a reason people who do videos on in depth rebuilds involving bodywork and rust repair don't have a lot of views. It's painful, expensive, takes forever, and doesn't make good content.

    I'm guessing this car is either gone or waiting for parts from bmw.

    This definitely isnt a parts car, rather a parts car is whats needed to do this repair properly. Buy another e46 with no drivetrain and crash damage on the opposite side, and steal parts off that, then sell the rest afterwards.

    thats worth more in Part out then it is worth to fix and put back on the road. Engine and trans alone would fetch a hug fat price tag with all its mods on it. that Genuine trunk if it is so rare has to be worth a grand or more on its own even the shell if you gut everything out cut the damaged quarter panels off and made it ready to go for some one looking to build a Track car get a good price for that as well because of the Carbon roof. i hate to say it but that BMW is worth significantly more as a parts car vs a functioning car XD. thats all BMWs past 1997 pretty much XD

    Should definitely opt to part it out rather than rebuild it.
    Love the concept for the video but having the goal of selling the whole car in working order seems like a bit of a pipe dream in that condition.
