Hvitserk has respect for Lagertha too, when he realised that he killed Lagertha and not his demons he was almost crying, he liked Lagertha, or at least killing her was not in his plan anymore just like Ubbe, Hvitersk rocks bottom, and I hope he will survive Bjorn's wrath, and go back to his berserk standards that we are use to with him :)

Thank the Gods was him though. He didnt want to kill her. Could you imagine what Ivar, who wants to kill her would do, if he found her in that vulnerable position? Against Bjorn or lagertha, Ivar is brave when he has 100 men surrounding and shielding him. Even when he and ubbe tried to kill her once, Ivar never tried alone. But now, at least her death was quick. She probably didnt feel all that pain, cuz it was fucking freezing, lost a lot of blood.

Ua Toto Not really. Lagertha knew from the get go and didn’t really care. Astrid remained loyal until she was kidnapped, got gang raped in order to warn Lagertha and get her prepared for Harald’s and Ivar’s attack, and when she knew she couldn’t go on without eventually having to actually betray Lagertha, she pretty much ran on her sword. Even Hirst said it wasn’t really a traditional relationship, as much as it was companionship. That’s why Lagertha didn’t really care that Astrid went with Björn for a night. We know she can hold a grudge and she never even seemed to be slightly pissed at either of them. It’s even part of her character that she can hold a grudge, when she told Aslaug “I never forget anything”. If she let it slide, it wasn’t a big deal.

This was the biggest goodbye to a character I’ve ever seen in Vikings. It was incredibly touching and well put together. Katheryn Winnick deserves a goodbye like this but I would have really loved to see Travis Fimmel actually film a scene we’re he welcomed her to Valhalla.💔

I'm still hoping that we get a scene with Ragnar and Lagertha in Valhalla before the series ends. I heard that Travis Fimmel was spotted on set multiple times for season 6, so there's definitely hope. Bjorn entering Valhalla at the end of the series and embracing Ragnar like how they did when they reunited in season 2 would be perfect.

@@jrose4235 I'm not sure how long he was on set for, but he did have his beard back. I'm really hoping that he filmed one scene at least. Ragnar is my favorite television character of all-time. Travis Fimmel perfected the role and deserved multiple Emmy's in my opinion. It's been confirmed that Ragnar is in Valhalla, so they definitely kept it open for him to make one last appearance. As for Bjorn, I heard that he didn't film much for 6b. 6b will mostly be about Ivar vs. Alfred and Ubbe traveling. Maybe Bjorn's final scene will be him as an old man departing to Valhalla, becoming young again, and reuniting with Ragnar, Lagertha, and his sister. That would be a perfect ending to the series.

Hvitserk killed Lagertha because he thought she was Ivar, Ivar killed Lagertha because Hvitserk thought he was her and the leader of his bodyguard severely injured her, Bjorn killed his mother by not killing Whitehair who later severely injured Lagertha in the duel(She was basically dying when she arrived at Kattegat because she was injured by Whitehair), and Ubbe probably because he didn't keep Hvitserk, who was going mad, guarded until he is better so he doesn't do something stupid. Very good writing though because each son of Ragnar's choices led to the death of Lagertha in this season.

I started watching Vikings this year and brooo let me tell you. I fell in love with this series. I fell love with Ragnars character and I cried in his death. However, Lagertha’s funeral was by far one of the most emotional episodes I’ve ever seen in a series. I was a mess watching Bjorn saying goodbye and how he was describing his mother. I couldn’t help thinking of my wife and my mother as I found they reflected those characteristics Bjorn was saying. I will forever cherish that moment by myself watching that episode. It was ground breaking.

One of the most emotional episodes I’ve ever watched. I never expected something like this before coming into it and man it was perfectly done. Lagertha got the send off she deserved.
You got it spot on about every son playing a part in Lagertha’s death. Bjorn for banishing those bandits instead of killing them. Ubbe for not looking after Hvitserk and not sending warriors with Gunnhild. Hvitserk for doing it but Ivar’s part to play was that Hvitserk visioned him as a serpent and haunted him throughout the season. Really good writing by Hirst.
Every reaction that I’ve seen has been an emotional one. A fantastically done episode and your reaction didn’t disappoint.

Awesome reaction man! I like the small symmetry they do some times in this show like: Torvi said, while at the grave of her son, the exact words Ragnar said to his daughter when she passed away, something along the way: You are never gone because you'll always be in my heart; then Torvi daughter said to Lagertha the same thing the angel of death said to Gyda before killing her: the valkyries will ride along side and guide you to Valhalla. I love those small details that they use/used in some episodes. Also this ending was so beautiful, when I watched it and saw Ragnar coming into view at the bottom I just stopped the ep and waited for a couple mins... even though they didn't brought Travis back for a moment like that, it was still very emotional and powerful. Lagertha transition from the clothes she wore at the funeral, to her armor and at last, to the farmer attire was so nice, it takes some artistic eye/ideas and the writer did such a great job.

This episode was easily the most beautiful and moving episode of a tv show I've ever seen. I literally cried heavily throughout.
One thing I absolutely loved about this episode is the use of the song' Isa' by Wardruna during the lead up to Lagertha's actual funeral. The Isa rune means Isolation/Reflection or to literally 'put things on ice' and Lagertha's funeral was on literally on ice - because she was the ice maiden which is what the episode was called.

I was in tears for most of this episode. Even though Lagertha often got on my nerves, she was a great character and the funeral / tribute they gave her character was most fitting. One of the most touching I've seen on any television show.

I was a wailing mess at the end of this. Lagertha was the only one worthy of Ragnar yet Ragnar was not worthy of her--- in the end. This show has the most wonder woman level of badassery female characters of any tv show in history.

Sith i have been a sub ever since i watched your Vikings 1x01 reaction and no reactor(s) have as much raw emotion, passion and love for this show then you do! This episodes reaction was probably one of the most powerful reactions i have ever seen especially when you made connections to your own mother as well. I am not to big a man to admit it had me in tears. Even tho Vikings is pretty famous by now, I still believe that it is one of the most underrated shows on tv. This show especially when it's on it's "A" game is truly one of the best shows out there. Your Vikings reactions are second to none! I needed to say something as this video just really hits home for me.. Anyway can't wait for next weeks episode!!

I just noticed Alex (an actor who plays Bjorn) unfollowed everyone Vikings series related on instagram (including actors who play Rollo, Ivar, Ubbe, Hvitserk, Torvi etc etc, everyone but an actress who plays Lagertha). Thats weird considering some have been shooting with him since early seasons... hmmm. He was following them all until recently. Most of them are still following him. Weird. I wonder why he unfollowed them all?
