I did not want a chunkier feel but did want to get rid of the plastic feel, spectially as I sweat a lot, so I used kinesio-tape on my Flysky. The elasticity allows it to conform perfectly to the grip, and it already has glue on it making it easier to apply. Another lus is the variety of colours available, as you can go for flashy or discrete.
Starting at the bottom would have the cutting edge during wrapping at the bottom instead of at the top each time round, preventing the "sweat" from working downward into the tape (?). The sticky tape at the top would also be OK (maybe) right at the top, doing some sort of funky cut on the last wrap round so as to not have a final edge on the tape too. Thoughts?

I think it's just something you will have to try for me I really like the feel of it the way I've done it but it depends how you like it :)
