As a Newfoundlander, seeing how this musical touched a bunch of people lifts my spirits so much. I was a few months shy of turning one when 9/11 happened, and about three hours away from Gander. I grew up hearing stories about what happened there at Gander Airport, my mom even has it wrote it my little baby book that she had. It's something that, even as a Newfoundlander, touches you, and im so glad that others are finally hearing this story. The writers, creators, and actors of this are doing an amazing job at retelling and respecting both the people on the plane and the Newfoundlanders story. For a long time, Newfoundland as been part of many jokes, and now its finally starting to get some recognition it deserves.
Move over, "Hamilton" - this is my new favorite show! I never thought I would say that! It evoked every emotion one could feel. Didn't know how a show based on the events of 9/11 could succeed, but this was brilliant. A must see, especially in these divisive times. Powerful in every way!!!!
I saw it June in Toronto with my older sister we don’t drive so we took go transit from Barrie but do to work on the tracks it was five hours on crowded busses but it was worth it
I have been *obsessed* with this song since I heard the NAMT recording 4 years ago. When they chant "I'm an Islander, I am an Islander" I still get chills! My friends saw the preview in NYC last week and they said it was one of the best shows they've ever seen. (And they are in the business so they see EVERYTHING.) Thanks for posting!
I tear up every time i hear the lyric: "Welcome to the land where we lost our loved ones and we said, we will still go on". I lost my fiancée aged 34 this April. She invited me in 2023 to Come From Away. She was raised in Nova Scotia and always represented that beautiful maritime hospitality. I miss her every second but will still go on!
If you experienced 9/11 as an adult and you're trying to explain it to kids who were too young at the time and were sheltered from the event, this is perhaps the best way to evoke that connected feeling that resulted from the horrible events of that day. Beautifully told story. When we saw it in New York, the usher told us we'd like it better than Dear Evan Hansen. Well, that was our show for the next day, and it dod not even come close to the experience of Come From Away. Come From Away is masterfully done and absolutely a must see for everyone. Its ensemble nature prevents it from competing in all the categories Dear Evan Hansen could, but in my opinion, it was the far superior show from an acting and power-of- story standpoint. Jenn Colella was particularly impressive.
Powerful lyrics and message... the singer's delivery touches your emotions; she shows that putting 'feelings' into words being spoken or sung draws the listener in ...and keeps them there!
It's so sad they shortened the beginning. Ah well, this musical is absolutely fantastic. Totally witty, but serious and a really emotional ride in general. I loved seeing it.
I saw this show back when it was at the Seattle Rep, and I still haven't gotten over how beautiful it is! I will definitely be listening to this album on repeat for the next month or so once it is out.

I saw this with my school on Halloween at the fifth avenue theater, it was an incredible show, full of all sorts of emotions, sadness, and laughter, talent in such large amounts, unfortunately my class is extremely immature so I had to pretend I didn’t really like it, but we all love this song, and we might be singing it for our graduation song, it’s my favorite soundtrack next to Hamilton

My family and I saw this back in June, and I've been obsessed with this song (along with much of the soundtrack) ever since. I love the Celtic vibe it and the other songs have. This is the first version of the song I've heard that contains the entire opening with them listing all the places around town, something that surprised me when I saw the show live. The show itself is incredible, and got a standing ovation from everyone almost immediately after the final number. This may sound like an odd request, but could I use some of the audio from this for a project I'd like to do? I'd be sure to credit this video and whoever else I should credit. Thanks!
