- With one performer having to stand in for a missing one, and another having to play a telegram machine, plus some slight language issues and costume malfunctions, Cornley's attempt at a war drama didn't exactly go to plan
Clips from Episode 2 of series 1 of The Goes Wrong Show - The Pilot (Not the Pilot)
Vanessa struggling to remember the French lines and resorting to the lyrics of "Frere Jacques" kills me every single time, especially when she strokes Chris's cheek and dramatically says "Ding..dang..dong".
UK, hon? 😉
And also 'Lady Marmalade' and 'Ninety Nine Red Balloons'.
ding dang dong, sing sang song!

1:45 I like the little touch of all the clocks on the wall showing the same time
2:30 Charlie/Sandra, trying so hard not to break as Dave/Max does his thing with the lamp, it gets me every time.
"The war is over?"
NO, IT ISN'T!!!
hilarious!
2:52 I like Max's nod to Robert Stack's character in Airplane! (1980), as he removes his two pairs of glasses, monocle and leather flying helmets.
I didn't like Vanessa at first. I don't know why. I think it was because she wasn't one of the characters I loved from The Play, Peter Pan or Christmas Carol. But she won me over with this episode alone and now she's one of my favourite members of Cornley
Bryony played one of the "staff" characters in Peter Pan. Non-speaking! She was also the BBC receptionist in Christmas Carol, complete with London accent. I think Vanessa was created to fill in for Lucy, whose actress is playing Sandra in The Play That Goes Wrong. It me a while to get used to Vanessa, it wasn't quite sure what her "quirk" was.
she did make appearances in Peter Pan and Christmas Carol on tv but not as a Cornley member as such, but she's been a great addition to the team now.
@@allthingstheatre7600 I heard that she was one of the BBC people (?) in Christmas Carol. Had no idea she was in Peter Pan. Is that the play version you're talking about or the TV version?
@@joevictor53 she was a bbc receptionist in Christmas carol goes wrong, and a stagehand in the tv version of Peter Pan goes wrong alongside fellow mischief movie night star Niall ransome
@@allthingstheatre7600 And Harry Kershaw!
You really do wonder how often these fictional characters rehearse together lol. And Vanessa can't memorize foreign words and innuendos!
I love Sandra’s annoyed look after Dennis pulls the paper into the fax machine
Just watched this episode yesterday. Great comedy! Love theatre, and how they make it go wrong. Haha

I probably would’ve started laughing if Vanessa said “Bum bum” up close to my face like the way she did at 3:17
Underrated joke was Vanessa speaking French, but ended up saying Petis Filous, a kids yogurt.
so freaking hilarious
this technically makes it A pilot episode not The pilot episode although it is called The Pilot
Yeah!
"The Pilot" was in fact supposed to be the first episode, but broadcast of the series was postponed from late 2019 to early 2020 to make way for news coverage when the 2019 General Election was called. Except for what would have been Episode 6 (Spirit of Christmas), which was broadcast first, in its original slot, because of its seasonal nature.
Dam no comments well……
Nice vid ❤️
What's "Puti Fillu"? (0:22)
Petit filou = little rascal
@@b-dtchik5022 thank you
@@udzalthegreatest It is a brand of yogurt, I believe lol
@@MrMrMrprofessor Yup, it's marketed towards kids hence the name. I had it all the time growing up
@@CottagecoreGoblin Gotcha! I am from the US and had never heard of it, so I had to google what it was as soon as Vanessa said it and it got a laugh from the audience lol
