  • Hey Madlads, today I have put together a video discussing one of the weirdest countries on the planet: Equatorial Guinea. Though it may seem like a rich country with GDP per capita figures you may see online, today you will learn why this number does not come close to telling the whole story, and how Equatorial Guinea got to this state.
Thank you all for watching! Be sure to like, subscribe, and share this video with all of your friends. I will be starting a patreon soon, so be sure to look out for that in the coming weeks. Also, if you could, please share my videos to everyone you think might be interested in this type of content. If I can reach 1,000 subscribers, I can afford to make much better content, and believe me, you won’t regret it. We get closer everyday, so every way you all can help is greatly appreciated.

Truly a shame the lack of media content cover of such little-known regimes. Keep up the good work, excellent vid!

Macias Nguema was a classic psychopathic Communist dictator along the lines of Pol Pot or Kim il Sung.
His nephew and successor Obiyang dropped Socialism when he took over, but kept the brutal dictatorship in place under a now-Classicalist banners

I am always quite fascinated by the history of African nations and their rulers and how they developed or destroyed their nations.
I was searching for a video on the history of equatorial guinea but couldn't find one.

20th century African history in general is rather interesting, and Equatorial Guinea is no exception. About the size of the country: don't let the map deceive you, it is almost as big as Belgium (28,000 vs 30,000 sqkm). If anyone wants to know more about Francisco Macias N'Guema, I suggest that you listen to the podcast Dictators' 2 episodes on him. Great video!

It's about time someone talks about those unknown dictatorships. Do you also plan to make a video about Chad?

How come I am Argentinean and I've never heard of Equatorial Guinea being part of the Virreinato del Río de la Plata??? That is so interesting, thank you for enlightening me to this fact!
