Call me what you want, but DMB’s cover of the song is the best version I’ve heard. @@binderdundit228 Jimi would fucking love this.
💯
BADDEST, JAM, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! NOBODY has EVER performed this Classic with Anywhere Near as much Enthusiasm And Perfection- What a Tribute!!
I think Jimi Hendrix would have something to say about that . . .
Great Bass work especially during the violin and Hammond solos.
The first half of the song is almost all bass. I love the reversal of bass playing lead and guitar playing rhythm. Awesome.
You heard it too 🔥
Out of my 30 years of life and love of music, I deem this video and it's 12 minutes and 48 seconds as the greatest musicals performance of all time. Sincerely, nobody.
Just a fantastic rendition of a great song. I have never seen a basist or for that matter each other member of a band perform their individual and collective contributions so so brilliantly.

@@DMTsmoke why are you sending me these two responces. I only agreed with the sentiment expressed by another poster. Yes iv listened many times to every artist or band to which you refer and yes at times in their musical careers they have all expressed the raw emotion that we see in DMB on this occation. Don't preach to the converted its a waste of your obviously well backgrounded talent.
you should of been there!
@@DMTsmoke forgot Eagles
Right on! On so many levels. Bass solo up front blew me away. Dave Matthews band made this as perfect as I have ever seen.
They are all extremely talented, and this video shows how individually talented they are, but how they jazz together!
The Dave Matthews band is kick ass I'll never forget them they'll always be in my heart
This song makes us appreciate Leroi. RIP LEGEND!
WOW!, or maybe- WOWZA!! This rendition by Dave Matthews Band, ALL of them!!! of Dylan's timeless CLASSIC, is among the BESTEST, I've EVER HEARD, in my LIFE!!! I'm 73 years old now, have heard- All Along The Watchtower, both by Dylan and can't count them any, more covers by ALL types of bands, BIG and locals. Count me now- I'M a Dave Matthews Band FAN forever!!!!
Never was a fan of DMB ... until a friend asked if I had seen them in concert. Wow! The wall of sound that came out of these guys blew my mind.
DMB is amazing live.
U never seen Pink Floyd or REO Speedwagon.
James Breitenbach Unfortunately no. Although I love live music, I rarely go to concerts. Have seen DMB 3 times though.
@@bc1301 reckon I'm old school. nothing plays like the original. if u like this rendition, then more power to ya.
@@fasteddie1257 you mean good ol bob dylan orignal
The Watchtower, Dave Matthews style..... incredible!
Amazing! What a terrific bunch of unbelievably talented musicians! Love it! Jimi's jammin' in heaven to it!
I actually like it more than the hendrix version.
DMB= GENIUS
@@mr.b.9890 it was a gift from Richie to both of them. They were Seattle buddies.
You do know it's a Bob Dylan song, right?
This is a bob dylan song that jimi hendrix loved and redid. I think this version might have trumped them all
I just love this bass 🔊 line.😊
I am a 60 year old grandma shaped grandma and I love DMB! He does great shows!
His breath management is impeccable
Powerful and energy filled performance. No matter who plays this song, thankyou Mr. Bob Dylan for writing this masterpiece.
Do you ever notice that Dave Matthews just lets him play until he is ready to play the song, that speaks volumes!
This band is why I know what great live music is
The song writing brilliance of Bob Dylan and the musical interpretation of one of the finest Musical talents of our generation.
Are you talking about Dave Mathews…
This song never gets old, especially this rendition. Love DM and his entire band, saw them many times in Tampa, Fl. RIP Jimi
Who is Jimi?
@Anders Eriksson yeah lol thanks for the clarification. I was thinking she was mentioning a band member
@@o-rang9137 ....
@Anders Eriksson Dylan did it first
I wasn't a DMB fan until I watched this concert. Wow!
Where has all the music gone? Television Children Fed. Blowing in the wind...... those were the days my friend I thought they'd never end. Thank you DMB
I’m watching this on the 19th anniversary of 9/11.
I can’t help but think that this performance carries so much weight today.
How this video doesn’t have 1 billion views is astonishing. 3.2 million is just not enough, especially considering I’m half of those
God they're all so talented. I just love them.
God Damn!!!!!!... and I don't use that term ever. my gosh, musically that was Awesome.
JUST SO DANG GOOD, I may be young, but I love dave matthews band so much, especially carter Beauford, my favorite drummer ever, and dave, just such a great guitarist, and that bass, oh my god he’s so good
Can’t forget Boyd on that violin
@@jerryhannah8449 you right my bad
no. thank YOU sooooo MUCH !!!!! I LOVE YOU ALLLLLLLLLL
Never stop strumming. This is Dave's advice that I took seriously!
This put a smile on my face the entire time. Instead of focusing on who’s better, how about just enjoy the moment, over and over again.
Hands down the best live performing band. They not band I’ve ever heard that sounds better live than on record.
This is masterclass when Dave screams like that I feel the chill on top of the chill I had before begin to shoot down my back. This is why I love MUSIC I’ll never stop playing or being a fan. Love you all thank YOU.
Giving me chills right now as I’m listening to it. And every other time I do…
no its not its sacrilege to a classic anthem of despair written and performed the way it was supposed to be delivered and received emotionally by the GREAT Bob Dylan
@@v2snider1 being inspired by a musician whilst being a very good musician and interpreting the song your own way and playing it to inspire millions of people to go on with their dreams of music isn’t sacrilege it’s music dude gtfoh
@@derekddurbin he’s brilliant . Just not the right song for that style is all I’m saying
Stefan Lessard on the bass guitar 🔥 One of the best low key bass performances
75 years I came into our house and I was thinking too when you hear HIMSELF. CAN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS
I've seen them 9 times! ALWAYS an amazing experience!!
I saw em once..back in like 2001🤣.shit im old..they kicked ass for sure
Wow lucky
This Band, and Dave’s voice, are always mesmerizing.
I will never forget when Dave played this at Red Rocks....incredible
Red Rocks might be the greatest concert venue ever
Awesome saw him there as well
I've yet to see anyone perform at restock....bucket list for sure. . however for 39 I caught 7th row the who ...and first riser Paul McCartney...so if I don't make red rock I'll die happy anyways
In a perfect world each one of us would have been front row center🔥🔥🔥🔥
I will never ever ever ever ever get sick of his music. I am so happy this concert was recorded.
It brings me so much joy 🥹
I second this!
Lebensfreude mit Musik…immer wieder und wieder… fun fun fun ….❤❤😝🙏
Incomparable. Seriously, this rendition has no compare! The bass, the sax and, sorry - not sorry, the fiddle is unbelievable! Thank you Bob Dylan and Dave & Friends for this perfection!
Takes me back to the day! Jason Scribner, Derick Mullins, Jon Goicoechea, Ron Miller, Cindy Hamm - my best friends since 1999. Oh, how we love DM's footwork!
Well I must say that this version of the song is quite unbelievable 😁❤️✅
Watch the Cover by Kala Rose back when she was 12 or something around it xD
