I went thru a relationship like this, and I had a couch like that 😮 This was years ago tho. He would gaslight me all the time. He did stuff like give me his whole paycheck and brag about it, but then ask for all his money back little by little. So to everybody else it looked like he was contributing to the household but he actually spent more money than he gave. My couch wasn’t repo’d but my car was. I had abandonment issues and he would use that against me. He would fight me physically, then leave me and I’d let him come back. It was a repetitive cycle that lasted 6 years. Every time he left I was at my lowest point. I had to move into apartments on my own, I lost jobs, lost cars.. I was always good with money before him but when I got with him I couldn’t keep money and gained so much debt. It was like I was brainwashed. Thank God for delivering us from that torment. That’s not love.
