Honestly if you’re confused about the units then watch the nct units explained by neovelvet… as a new stan myself that cleared all my doubts about what the heck their subunit system was Also the one you said had an attitude that you liked was Mark who basically is in like every unit so all the videos you watched today had him in it lmao
Hot Sauce is a metaphor for their music and how diverse and addictive it is. Really all three songs are about how their music is different and will upend the industry. Kpop lyrics are kinda like reading Shakespeare... it may not make sense word for word or line for line, but by the end you understand the overall meaning. Particularly SM has some funky lyrics... they mostly source their music from Western writers and then kpop-ify them making the lyrics about things other than love/money/sex/drugs/violence/possessions which is what a LOT of Western music tends to be about, so the verses might not match very well with the hook/chorus when it comes to meaning sometimes. 127's 2 Baddies is a prime example, the hook has pretty much nothing to do with the rest of the song after the producers got a hold of it (original title was 2 Bitches, 1 Porche if that gives you some indication of how the original lyrics didn't work for them lol)... but the hook is just plain fun and provided a concept for the era, so they kept it. 🤷♀ And don't worry, it's really not all that difficult to learn the members... I've struggled putting names to faces with 5 member groups, yet with NCT I learned all 23 in a snap. They each have very different looks and voices... but it does help to learn each of the fixed member units individually (127, Dream & WayV), because then you'll know where everyone goes and it's not as overwhelming when you watch all-member content or mv's for NCT U, which is a mix-n-match unit where any of them can turn up on a track. Hope you give them a chance though... they truly are 23 of the most talented, chaotically funny and adorable weirdos one could hope for! 💚💚
