NCT 127 has some of the most different sounds in Kpop music. They don’t just stick to one genre or style, they span a spectrum, they can’t just be put in a box. Their b sides are incredible. I’d definitely recommend checking out more of their music: “FOOL” “Lips” “Without You” “Highway to Heaven” “Fly Away With Me” “Welcome to My Playground” “End to Start” My favorite is “Back 2 U” which has r and b influences so it may not be your cup of tea, but it’s a great song, especially live. Also, yay for showing “Simon Says” and “Cherry Bomb” choreo love. “Cherry Bomb” is my favorite Kpop choreo

They aren't trained in modern dance, but they tried to make up choreography in the style, setting up the costume, background, story, obviously the choreo, etc. I personally love the piece, but I'm not educated in dance so it would be cool to learn what somebody who is thinks of it.

There are a different number of members in these dance practices because that is how NCT works -- the members change and alternate between sub-units and songs depending on the concept for the song. Here is some information about how NCT works. NCT (which stands for Neo Culture Technology) currently has 21 members. And the group right now as a whole has 4 sub-units. The way NCT works is it's a group with an infinite number of members. (There are an unknown number of trainees who are still waiting to debut who could potentially become members of NCT.) As SM's male trainees graduate from the training program and SM decides they are ready to debut, they become a member of NCT and they debut as part of one of NCT's sub-units. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With an infinite number of members and a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL (Mark is the only member who was included in all 3 of NCT's original sub-units.) The first unit to debut was NCT-U. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the same members who are in NCT-127, plus they add and subtract other members from the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs can have anywhere from all the members or only 1 or 2 members. 23:30 that’s Winwin, he actually did Chinese traditional dance which is similar to ballet in terms of technique, but is pretty different in terms of style. Ballet is more technical and fragile while Chinese traditional dance is a tad bit more aggressive but in an elegant manner if that makes ANY sense.

(he’s in nct u and wayv). ten praised as ncts best dancer (rightfully deserved) which is prob why you’ve heard of him and i also saw you reacted to his and winwins lovely choreo but!!!! i highly recommend tens performances on hit the stage! it’s a dance competition in which a dancer was chosen to be on the show with a choreographer and each episode, they had a new challenge word and had to make a choreo out of it! my personal favs are the devils stage, the uniform stage, and the fight stage!!! i rlly hope you can react to them and i’m sure many other people would appreciate it also. thank u for this lovely video
I love hearing all of the background knowledge you have on the technicality aspect of dance! I am so used to watching dance practices and just being amazed at how cool they look, but after hearing you talk about the technique and ways the members are actually able to do the moves, I can appreciate the dancing even more.
I love watching their dance practices and I was just waiting for winwin to absolutely shine during cherry bomb when you squealed over him!! Winwin actually has been trained in Traditional Chinese Dance for years now so yeah it's normal that you noticed how his movements were very "ballet-like", it's hard to abandon old habits. You should listen to them, they’re completely different from their title tracks and if you haven’t heard them them I encourage you to. 23:24 that’s our best boy winwin 🥺 he studied traditional Chinese dance before he went to be an idol, that’s why his lines are probably some of the best in the group.
NCT's Title tracks are usually hard and hip hop but their side b tracks are the total opposite. Its quiet awesome how different and unique their style is. So yeah.
To give some references. cherry Bomb was mainly Choreographed by the Fidget Spinner member Taeyong. Also some of the dance moves were inspired by Games which they played. For example you'll see Snooker, Baseball and yes Monkeys in a barrel etc. Also NCT usually has more sharp and street moves as most of them were not classically trained. Except for WinWin (Chinese traditional).
Lothars Blade cherry bomb was not choreographed by taeyong. I’m a tyongf and we should praise him but not lie. He created choreos for whiplash, it won’t stop, and a couple of other side performances like his solo dances at award shows but he’s never choreographed a title track

All the members of WayV have Chinese heritage, but like Ten who is Thai, they aren't all native Chinese. The reason why WayV doesn't have NCT in their name is because of the current conflict between the Korean and Chinese government and how China is not allowing anyone associated directly with a Korean company to do business in its country. Because of this conflict SM had to find/create a Chinese company -- Label V -- that was willing to represent NCTs Chinese sub-unit, but would also allow SM to have control over the group's concept and activities. Most of the members of WayV were originally members of NCT-U + 3 new members who debuted specifically with WayV because they were Chinese.

NCT was created by SM Entertainment in 2016 and the group is SM's attempt at taking over the music industry around the world. SM's goal is to eventually have NCT sub-units in every major city in every country in the world. Some day they hope to, for example, take several of the group's Japanese members and create a Japanese sub-unit, or put together members from Thailand and create a Thai sub-unit, etc. It has always been SM's plan to have world domination. And to that point, right now NCT-127 is the group that SM is using to try and get their foothold in the U.S. music market with songs like "Regular" and "Highway to Heaven" and collaborations with American artists such as Jason Derulo, (If you haven't already, you should check out "Shut Up and Dance" with Jason Derulo, Lay from EXO and NCT-127), as well as promotional tours with the American media, etc.
The guy who choreographed Cherry Bomb is Tony Testa who is actually trained in Ballet and Jazz as well as Hip Hop so that’s probably why some moves seem like they’re inspired by Jazz

23:30 that’s Winwin, he actually did Chinese traditional dance which is similar to ballet in terms of technique, but is pretty different in terms of style. Ballet is more technical and fragile while Chinese traditional dance is a tad bit more aggressive but in an elegant manner if that makes ANY sense.

I watched a video once saying how the types of dances NCT is harder for him because it's vastly different from his upbringing. Alot of his moves and form mirrors the type of dance he's use to.

ten praised as ncts best dancer (rightfully deserved) which is prob why you’ve heard of him and i also saw you reacted to his and winwins lovely choreo but!!!! i highly recommend tens performances on hit the stage! it’s a dance competition in which a dancer was chosen to be on the show with a choreographer and each episode, they had a new challenge word and had to make a choreo out of it! my personal favs are the devils stage, the uniform stage, and the fight stage!!! i rlly hope you can react to them and i’m sure many other people would appreciate it also. thank u for this lovely video

I love hearing all of the background knowledge you have on the technicality aspect of dance! I am so used to watching dance practices and just being amazed at how cool they look, but after hearing you talk about the technique and ways the members are actually able to do the moves, I can appreciate the dancing even more.

Winwin actually has been trained in Traditional Chinese Dance for years now so yeah it's normal that you noticed how his movements were very "ballet-like", it's hard to abandon old habits. NCT's Title tracks are usually hard and hip hop but their side b tracks are the total opposite. Its quiet awesome how different and unique their style is. So yeah.

To give some references.
cherry Bomb was mainly Choreographed by the Fidget Spinner member Taeyong. Also some of the dance moves were inspired by Games which they played. For example you'll see Snooker, Baseball and yes Monkeys in a barrel etc.
Also NCT usually has more sharp and street moves as most of them were not classically trained. Except for WinWin (Chinese traditional).
Lothars Blade cherry bomb was not choreographed by taeyong. I’m a tyongf and we should praise him but not lie. He created choreos for whiplash, it won’t stop, and a couple of other side performances like his solo dances at award shows but he’s never choreographed a title track
