By then it was too late. So fast forward to now 2024, I joined a Full Stack Web Dev bootcamp in 2023, and I am having second thoughts. Do you think I have a chance for MEXT scholarship? I can maybe try and research more in the field of Computer Vision and present ideas in a research plan, and then try for UTokyo or Tokyo IT, or other backup options. I'm just scared it's too late and that they'd doubt my commitment to academics if I apply now with this much gap, and actually no employment record (since I had to start from scratch with web dev bootcamp). TL;DR I have a gap of 2+ years now, and regret some decisions in my BTech in 2022. I'd like to apply for MEXT but I'm scared that this gap is going to result in a failed application...
@Songlyrics4982 if you are trying to get admission into PCM field then you should focus more on chemistry , physics , maths and english also dont forget to focus on japanese because it can give more advantage over who has zero knowledge!
