I recently contacted a nearby school to inquire if they had a website, and they informed me that they did not. I offered to build one for them and explained the benefits of having a website. They accepted my offer and agreed to let me create a website for them.
I got the confidence from your videos sir, thank u!
This is awesome to hear!!! Congratulations!!!
That rocks man nice job
me too, my elementary school has no website and I'm planning to make one
@@HudieMviewsyearsago that is a great idea
By the way, here's something that worked for me at the beginning of my freelancing:
Make a few templates of generic websites (about 90% og websites look the same anyway). When you suggest a website to your neighbour/local school/local business/something else, you already have something out of the box you can use.
In about half the cases - you don't even need to work on the website, its just a bit of content and some color changes.
This can save a ton of time for new developers.
A lot of Marketing agencies do this, especially WP houses.
This is about where I'm at now working on a few different styles
From a dad to a dad, hope you a lot of success brother. Take care
Thank you!
Great video man!! This what i needed to hear, I will be waiting for the part 2! Keep it up
Thanks!
Highly insightful.. You just earned yourself a new subscriber
Awesome, thank you!
Thank you for the advice and tips. I just graduated last Oct. 2023 and until now I can't secure a full time job. I have a frontend development skills and created some personal projects that I build for my resume but unfortunately, its not enough. Now I will try to start doing freelancing and also search for a client to earn some cash while waiting for a job even though I'm an introvert kind of person.
Personal connection is
The programmer version of Bert Kibbler, I like it! 😅
I'm joking, good video and excellent advise.
🤣 thanks
I think if you learn how to generate leads for companies and can help them get clients you can then start charging more from that point on which is why I’m getting into marketing and understanding lead generation on top of creating their websites.
This is definitely a starting point to something I'll just flow with where it goes
Thanks dad
🤣 your welcome son
I really like the idea. I used to be in sales and do cold calling, cold knocking. Do you happen to have an example of one you’ve sold for $250? Trying to put it in perspective as to how much you’re giving for that $250.
Video on build process will be released 6/25 10am EST there is an example
Hey good sir, I have a question not related to your content, but how are you generating your on-screen transcripts and doing the word-for-word follow along?
This is a new feature on filmora this was my first time using it
@@thetechdad87 cool - Thanks for the info
Super dad ❤️
♥️
Cold calls are illegal in Europe
Wow I did not know this thanks for letting me know
@@thetechdad87 even cold emails, so this strategy is very hard for freelancer. Do you have an idea for Europeans apart from SEO, social media, fiverr etc.?

3:00 bro got realllll close there
anyways I love ur videos I'm a new watcher and your voice is so soothing and everything you are saying is amazing and on point, I love all ur videos no BS and always to the point
i am currently working on a project to satisfy a local restaurant thats #1 in the whole city to upgrade their website massively with so many functions like reserving booking events and maybe even personal accounts. The backend is so crazy the front end needs to be crazier lmao. May I contact you when I need help or advice or just your opinion on how the website looks maybe u can insight on something better. Keep up the great work you are amazing
🤣 wanted to make sure you was listening. Hop in the discord I'll help how I can if not we have a team of people way smarter than I!! Also thank you for your kind words
Can you show us how to deploy on netlify
Yes stay tuned
How much money have you made so far doing that ?
I think roughly 2 k at the moment
@@thetechdad87 Good job!
How much do you typically charge?
250 is where I start
did you buy some e-courses for learning code or joined the bootcamp?
Spent too much time watching courses and doing boot camps, so my advice is: install vscode and start building stuff and googling.
Free code camp taught me this stuff. I did just finish a Bootcamp but this started before that
@@thetechdad87 what does the bootcamp teaches on your case?
@@StrangeSupreme2045 it was full-stack Java SQL and Vue
What do you do if they expect your offer but they need backend functionality, when html, css, and JavaScript wouldn’t support that?
My target clients don't need that at the moment but wix go daddy square space offers a lot of options if they need more functionality. This is just a starting point
@@thetechdad87 now you’re mixing core programming languages with content management systems (CMS) and hosting providers. That’s not a good idea… it’ll cause ripple effects down the line. If you’re suggesting build static sites with no functionality on the backend then make sure the client is fully aware of it.
@@sonoftroy8572 right but for the sake of my clients as of now these are the solutions most small businesses want it's not a one size fits all and every situation requires a different solution
@@thetechdad87 I understand where you’re coming from. Just note, if a bad actor use scripts or logic to pass a harmful program through your clients URL, or non authenticated form… it’ll cause havoc for you and the clients. It’s more than a website it’s an extension of their company and we as programmers are responsible for making sure their data and their customers data stays protected at minimum.
@@sonoftroy8572 I agree I appreciate this feed back I am learning more and more as I go so everything helps
Is the SEO compulsory?
It's an up sale. But I will add some keywords in the site
Please how much do you charge for an average website, sir? And do they ever call wanting more features like a robust backend or something?
Besides, saying you built these websites with just html, css and js means that there's no backend, right?
By the way, thank you for the video, sir
No back end and if they need that go to a website builder site check out the other video for a high level understanding
Are you able to support your family by just doing this?
I am not at the moment.
@@thetechdad87 then, how do you even survive while learning programming??
I'm in Africa, and if you ask someone, can I make a website for you? They start laughing at you, lol
Keep trying once you get a yes the confidence will start building
Which part of Africa?
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Whosoever believeth in Jesus Christ should not perish, but have everlasting life.
