Bansko is a ski resort in Bulgaria’s Pirin Mountains. It is the largest and most popular ski resort in the country.
Bansko is situated at 1,600 meters above sea level and has three mountain peaks - Vihren (2,290 m), Kutelo (2,215 m) and Banski Suhodol (1,935 m). The average temperature in January is -5 degrees Celsius and 10 degrees Celsius in July.
The first mention of Bansko dates back to 1810 when it was mentioned as a village with 300 inhabitants. In 1882, Bansko was visited by Bulgarian Tsar Alexander III who decided to build a hunting lodge there. In 1949, the first hotel was built which attracted many tourists from the Soviet Union because of its proximity

Hey! Since I'm from Bansko, I noticed that your info on Bansko is way off, so I wanted to help correct that :) so here it goes:
"Bansko is situated at 925 meters above sea level and has many mountain peaks, including the third highest on the Balkans - Vihren (2,914 m), as well as Kutelo (2,908 m) and Banski Suhodol (2,884 m). The average temperature in January is -5 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius in July."

dont think this shows the town in its reality derelict buildings are everywhere cracked flagposts half busted atms, tourists traps everywhere. the old town is beautiful no denial, anywhere outside that main strip though, not so much
