While they do seem to be doing Venom Spider-Man pretty good, I would hardly call Peters changes subtle, he was constantly going "Grrrr, I'll get them".
This is literally everything I ever wanted in a Spider-Man game. The ability to switch back and forth with each Spidey is a feature I didn't know I needed and absolutely appreciate the developers for including.
I personally love this symbiote suit and have an idea for why it looks the way it does. I think it might be a narrative choice to have certain parts seem solid and others seem alien. I think the tighter a hold the suit has on Peter, the more alien it'll become. Like in Spectacular Spider-Man. Either way, this shit rocks
The suit is amazing. It all looks like organic armor and there’s parts that move. Like the back of peter’s neck, it’s more goopy and alive.. the combat is better than I imagined too. We haven’t even seen the best of it yet.
I agree with Andrew about being more excited about the story than the gameplay bc, again like he said, the gameplay looks amazing(pun intended) but what gave me the most chills and excited to experience the game was the end dialogue Peter: “He’s mine.” Miles: “Are you sure? He’s got big teeth.” Peter: “So do I…” *Peter glides away* Ganke: “He’s not normally like that, right?” Miles: “No, he’s never like that…”
I'm pretty sure both Spider-men might fight among themselves at some point because of the Venom suit altering Pete's personality. That would be incredible.
Based on the Be Greater Together graphic at the end having Together getting consumed by the Symbiote and then cleansed by Miles’ Venom Shock, I have a feeling that ability will play a major role in freeing Peter from its grasp.
I think that Venom will become the focal point for the second half of the story. The first is about Peter struggling with the symbiote and Kraven hunting him (and Miles). The second half could be about the symbiote attaching itself to Harry. Now Peter has to save Harry from the symbiote, all while Kraven probably shifts his attention from the Spider-Men to Venom. As such, I think Harry will under a two-pronged assault from both within and outside. The only thing that makes me doubt this scenario is that the whole "Kraven hunts one of Peter's friends who has turned into a monster" angle is already playing out with Dr. Connors/the Lizard. But that could also be a throughline for the entire game. After all, Kraven hunting people Spidey cares about makes him much more intimidating than if he was just hunting all-out bad guys.
I get your point about Kraven hunting Harry and Dr. Connors, but then again, Kraven had a map of a bunch of people in New York, not just Peter, Miles and Lizard.
Peter mentioned in the trailer that he needed connors to help cure Harry so I think it picks up where the after credit scene from the first left off. So I say that to say I think all the Harry and symbiote stuff is actually the first half and then it’ll end with like full on venom plus they have to fight kraven. It’ll be interesting to say in what order it all plays out. I’m also curious like how does Norman play into all this? How does Pete find out about Harry cus remember he doesn’t know Harry is sick in the first game. Are we gonna get goblin at the end or is that being saved for the third game? I have so many questions lol
I love how Peter seems so impatient, like when miles said “alley oop on three?” Instead of Peter saying “yes!” Of “let’s do it” all Peter did was sigh and growl “fine”
Honestly, I feel like we're definitely gonna get a Spider-Man VS Spider-Man fight somewhere in here. The way Lizard is portrayed is like a monster, which is to be expected, but the way Peter is voiced, framed, and even how he looks during gameplay, is on a whole different level- He's shot like a genuinely terrifying monster, who isn't evil, at least not yet, every scene and line of dialogue he has in this is either absolutely terrifying because he's clearly barely holding back, or extremely concerning, because of how unsettlingly different he acts, like how he will still save people, but you can tell his heart and head aren't really in it, he's not just angry, he's desperate, given the dialogue seems to indicate that because he has the symbiote, Harry is dying without it, and so he's already at his wits end, and acts completely cold and detached when he's not relentlessly pursuing something. There's something visceral about how he says "He's gonna wish he never came to New York!", like he's already lost it, and it's only what little is left of him that keeps him from outright offing people while he's using the suit. The way both he, and Connors is revealed is straight out of classic monster movies, and you can see it when he crashes in to catch up with Miles, the lighting just oozes unknown horrors while his demeanor is uncharacteristically serious and cold. I won't lie, when I saw Venom, and Kraven, and Lizard, I was hyped which is what I would expect of my reaction, but something is so off with seeing Peter like this, I'm genuinely more terrified of him than of anything else in this game, and I would swear that he would be the final boss and Miles would have to pull him back from the brink-
What's gonna make this particular version of the symbiote so scary is the fact that we know from the comics that it's just amplifying genuine emotions Peter has. He has demons that he's been oppressing in his psyche. The symbiote is now just giving him the opportunity to let them loose. And with the death of Aunt May on his mind now, it's going to be that much harder to fight off.
Symbiote Spider-Man’s action sequences in the game will be so raw sick, especially he is going to be much more dangerous and viciously force of nature.

For this game this could be how peter got the symbiote. In the post credit scene, it seemed that Harry Osborn had the symboite, so maybe Norman takes Peter Parker, or Peter finds Harry, and tries to help him. In trying to help him, Peter has gained the symbiote.
It looks like this game has taken the best elements of the first game and the Miles one and has combined it into the one game and improved it all even more I love both games so I’m very excited for this one
This was such an amazing gameplay trailer. Everything about just looked incredible. The graphics, the action, the characters, just to name a few. Also I would definitely watch if you guys did a play through of this game.
I love how they implemented the Venom movie's fleshy look for the suit. It also reminds me of the Armored Titan from AOT, with the plates of armor covering his body with pieces of what looks like exposed muscle around the joints.
Could not be more excited for this game. The symbiote looks better than I expected. I like how it constantly has these sort of moving veins and tendrils, it reminded me a little of the Vecna body in Stranger Things

I dig how the most visible parts of the symbiote suit looks like composite material of some sort, but the movable joints and less eye-catching bits have that alien biology to it.

There's for sure going to be a Miles vs. Peter/Venom boss battle and I'm so here for it. I'd bet that probably happens around midway through the game then while they're dealing with Kraven the symbiote attaches to Harry.
I bet Miles going to have to release Peter at some point. That's very early in the game, Peter is already going crazy... and then it's him against his friend, Venom. Hopefully Miles doesnt get almost killed by Peter and cant show up in the rest of the game. This looks amazing.
I like that we see "Wraith" as one of the people Kraven is going to hunt, for those who don't know Wraith is Yuri, so its going to be fun hearing how Pete interacts with Yuri now that she's a lethal anti-hero.

Is Harry Venom in this game? I was hoping he was gonna become Goblin. I’m fine with him being Venom instead of Eddie though, because Harry became Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, and I liked that. Side note: Later on in the show, Flash Thompson became Agent Venom and Harry became Anti-Venom. I think Doc Ock created the Carnage symbiote out of the a piece of the Venom symbiote and Peter’s blood (explaining why it’s red), and Peter became Carnage. And if I remember correctly, MJ got the Carnage symbiote and became the Carnage queen or something like that, then gained control of it and became Spider-Woman. I like that show if you can’t tell, and think it’s underrated. Drake Bell as Spider-Man was great too.
Harry is probably going to have the symbiote in the beginning of the game and then it latches onto peter.Thats probably the reason why harry is dying because the symbiote was keeping him alive.

i love how we gt miles along for the ride with the symbiote spiderman plot, usually its just pete by himself struggling against its corupion but im very excited to see how they tackle the story with miles being there as well, im 99% sure were going to have a corrupted peter boss fight
Could be wrong, but my idea is that from the dialogue, Peter now knows Harry is dying, and finds out Conner's is the only one that can help him. With Peters past grief of losing May in the first game, he is probably thinking that he can't lose another person that's close to him. And from there, Peter probably says fuck it and bonds with Venom, as he thinks that is the strength he needs to save Harry. Also another idea is, that you may also get to play as Venom himself. With Miles saying yo Pete he's got teeth, and Peter replies with so do I. So I can only hope he has a rage mode where Venom actually emerges and you play as him, or Peter has a rage ability where Venom quickly pops out and bites someone. I can only hope though we'll get to play as beefed up venom. Just like in the Ultimate Spider-man game. Also, it might've been a small part of the gameplay, but one of my favorite parts was when Peter swings that one thug against the house, then the other way, and then zooms over to them and starts pelting them with kicks. That shit was sick

It's possible Osborn fused spider DNA with Mr Negatives power somehow and it created a web like symbiote to try and cure his son (most likely getting these ideas from past experiments and seeing how strong Spider-Man and the others are). It would explain why it makes people violent and why Venom talks as two people rather then one. It literally brings out your darker half. It's also possible the Lizard is partly why Venom looks like he does. Maybe it sticks to the Lizard for a bit and takes on some characteristics which is why the Venom we know is large, has sharp teeth, and has claws. It's literally a combination of experiments we've seen in the first game and what I assume will be part of the second. Though that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
This game looks phenomenal in literally every aspect and will probably be the best Spider-Man game I will ever play! However, one MUST acknowledge and show respect to the game Spider-Man Web of Shadows. That game in its own right had done an amazing job regarding the story, villains, and combat which allowed you to switch between the symbiote suit and regular Spider-Man seamlessly.
This is awesome. With multiple games, feels like there will be one for everyone. For those who love the classic stealth approach and those who enjoy the recent open world action RPG combat
Not only is the symbiote gameplay amazing. But it reminded me of the game Prototype where you’re a living weapon. And man. If we had something like that with this level of fluidity. Would be insane.
Everything up to the spider-verse UI And hut Everything its what we wanted and more the Seamless transition between miles and peter and cutscenes and gameplay its just amazing I hope its game of they year the only thing we are missing is co-op/multiplayer they showed us way more than we expected A whole 10 minutes So Excited Insomniac have out done there self not just from gameplay development but from story telling the voice acting is so raw and I low how harsh he is with the civilians a total antithesis with normal peter And at the end when he says "so do I" His eyes go less smtoh showing the symbiotic takeover which of course foreshadows a fight between miles and peter If the combat is this amazing I cant wait for Wolverine
Dude this trailer is so fucken hype! Symbiote Spider-Man has fighting moves that remind me of Venom’s from Marvel vs Capcom. AND the voice acting when he’s shit talking the villains reminds me of the 90s animated Spider-Man when Christopher Daniel Barnes hit us with the iconic “SHOCKER!! I’LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!”
Funniest thing to me is that even though he’s basically possessed and having all his anger and pain brought to the surface- Pete still waved at the tour boat before it got blown up.
I love the fact they finally utilized the wing suit and the sling shot in this game looks way more fun to swing around and glide threw the city I can’t wait for this
It's subtle for the progression of him having the suit for a bit. I feel like when he first gets it it'll just be a strength boost but the longer he has it it's gonna get worse and worse. I'd love if that reflects in gameplay with the symbiote getting stronger and the combos getting far more brutal on the verge of executions.

the only other game that did it was Spiderman Web of Shadows, and it was amazing even on PS2 and 3. so I'm even more excited for this
I dig how the most visible parts of the symbiote suit looks like composite material of some sort, but the movable joints and less eye-catching bits have that alien biology to it.
Right?! I think as we progress in the game and the story, the symbiote will go from the semi armory/organic look, to a complete organic design showing us that the symbiote is taking over more and more. Kind of like in the spectacular spider man. One thing I hope to see, is that with all the alternate suits, the symbiote design for them evolves as well

love how they really made Miles actually have real changes to his biology after taking in all the new form in the generator, so now he has new powers AND his bioelectricity turned from orange to blue, really cool thing i saw no one else noticed
There's for sure going to be a Miles vs. Peter/Venom boss battle and I'm so here for it. I'd bet that probably happens around midway through the game then while they're dealing with Kraven the symbiote attaches to Harry.

I bet Miles going to have to release Peter at some point. That's very early in the game, Peter is already going crazy... and then it's him against his friend, Venom. Hopefully Miles doesnt get almost killed by Peter and cant show up in the rest of the game. This looks amazing.
I like that we see "Wraith" as one of the people Kraven is going to hunt, for those who don't know Wraith is Yuri, so its going to be fun hearing how Pete interacts with Yuri now that she's a lethal anti-hero.

Is Harry Venom in this game? I was hoping he was gonna become Goblin. I’m fine with him being Venom instead of Eddie though, because Harry became Venom in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, and I liked that.
Side note: Later on in the show, Flash Thompson became Agent Venom and Harry became Anti-Venom. I think Doc Ock created the Carnage symbiote out of the a piece of the Venom symbiote and Peter’s blood (explaining why it’s red), and Peter became Carnage. And if I remember correctly, MJ got the Carnage symbiote and became the Carnage queen or something like that, then gained control of it and became Spider-Woman. I like that show if you can’t tell, and think it’s underrated. Drake Bell as Spider-Man was great too.
Harry is probably going to have the symbiote in the beginning of the game and then it latches onto peter.Thats probably the reason why harry is dying because the symbiote was keeping him alive.

i love how we gt miles along for the ride with the symbiote spiderman plot, usually its just pete by himself struggling against its corupion but im very excited to see how they tackle the story with miles being there as well, im 99% sure were going to have a corrupted peter boss fight
Could be wrong, but my idea is that from the dialogue, Peter now knows Harry is dying, and finds out Conner's is the only one that can help him.
With Peters past grief of losing May in the first game, he is probably thinking that he can't lose another person that's close to him.
And from there, Peter probably says fuck it and bonds with Venom, as he thinks that is the strength he needs to save Harry.
Also another idea is, that you may also get to play as Venom himself.
With Miles saying yo Pete he's got teeth, and Peter replies with so do I.
So I can only hope he has a rage mode where Venom actually emerges and you play as him, or Peter has a rage ability where Venom quickly pops out and bites someone.
I can only hope though we'll get to play as beefed up venom. Just like in the Ultimate Spider-man game.
Also, it might've been a small part of the gameplay, but one of my favorite parts was when Peter swings that one thug against the house, then the other way, and then zooms over to them and starts pelting them with kicks. That shit was sick

If you streamed the Spider-Man 2 game I would watch it every time. Just knowing that we all would be experiencing the game all together, sounds so fun.
Absolutely love hpw you can hear peter struggling. Even his dialogue is a lot darker due to the symbiote. "He's gonna wish he never came to New york!" Bad ass
It's possible Osborn fused spider DNA with Mr Negatives power somehow and it created a web like symbiote to try and cure his son (most likely getting these ideas from past experiments and seeing how strong Spider-Man and the others are). It would explain why it makes people violent and why Venom talks as two people rather then one. It literally brings out your darker half. It's also possible the Lizard is partly why Venom looks like he does. Maybe it sticks to the Lizard for a bit and takes on some characteristics which is why the Venom we know is large, has sharp teeth, and has claws. It's literally a combination of experiments we've seen in the first game and what I assume will be part of the second. Though that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY!

This game looks phenomenal in literally every aspect and will probably be the best Spider-Man game I will ever play! However, one MUST acknowledge and show respect to the game Spider-Man Web of Shadows. That game in its own right had done an amazing job regarding the story, villains, and combat which allowed you to switch between the symbiote suit and regular Spider-Man seamlessly.

Symbiote Spider-Man has fighting moves that remind me of Venom’s from Marvel vs Capcom. AND the voice acting when he’s shit talking the villains reminds me of the 90s animated Spider-Man when Christopher Daniel Barnes hit us with the iconic “SHOCKER!! I’LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH!!!”
Funniest thing to me is that even though he’s basically possessed and having all his anger and pain brought to the surface- Pete still waved at the tour boat before it got blown up.

It's subtle for the progression of him having the suit for a bit. I feel like when he first gets it it'll just be a strength boost but the longer he has it it's gonna get worse and worse. I'd love if that reflects in gameplay with the symbiote getting stronger and the combos getting far more brutal on the verge of executions.
