Now I know why dogs lick their *********, it’s to get rid of the taste of the dog food! That's from Red Dwarf.
From the episode marooned..
this food is worse then dog food
I call this type of food Caravan food, as a kid in the 80's we had a touring caravan and we had stuff like this to do a quick meal when at sites with no shops, loved them and sad as it is still do. Same with tins of stewed steak, bit of mash and you were good for meal. Wrestlers who did hot dogs as well.
What I can't understand and forget about the price is that these have been on sale for many years and I have on the odd occasion bought them myself and been happy with them, Deano I think you talked yourself into that frame of mind
These tinned burgers make Pedigree Chum look like the finest wagyu beef or fillet mignon 😂 thanks for trying them Deano so no one else has to ! 😊
3 years is nothing, they put a best by date so you eat them and buy more, in reality as long as the can is in good condition no rust spots or any damage cans can last far longer than 3 years easily over 25 years
Literally everything tinned has long sell by/consume by dates though, it's not like this is irradiated pork-chicken. A tin of tuna in my cupboard has four years on it, soup two, beans three, it's not unusual, it's just all part of the canning process.
I remembered them tin burgers we always had some in our Christmas hamper and a tin of chicken in jelly yuk 😊
i have no doubt they are disgusting. But why are you surprised at the long shelf life, all tinned food has a long shelf life, there is no air in the tin to cause anything to go off, how can you review food and not understand that
Football matches every saturday with boiled onions that classic smell but the gravy was awful as they were sold in a bun with onions no fecking gravy
@@user-xh3lz9xt4l How could the gravy be awful when you say no fecking gravy?
@@grahamjohnson4702 you didnt understand, the Westlers burgers were kept in a bain marie and boiled, the onion gravy was washed off, but if you tasted it I admit it was awful
I Bought some last week thought they were ok
Some people just don’t understand how basic things work. He’s sharp like a marble but we love him anyway.
“Westler’s Burger’s Mums Choice”. If My Mum Served Me Them In The 90’s I’d Demand I Get Put Up For Adoption.
I genuinely went into foster care when I was 10 and my bio parents used to make these 😬🤮🤮 they are as grim as they look 😂
@@keeronplant-keilty4605 I wouldn’t want that shit served on death row. 😭
so did you like them or not ? 🤣
In the 1970’s these were available in two types, beef burgers made with beef and hamburgers made with ham surprisingly. To be honest I’m amazed that they are still available.
Ddddooonnnn''''tttt do it. It even sounds 😝
my dog would bite me if i gave her these ha ha
I should hope so
I am so sorry lovey i couldn't watch anymore, I have (among other things) autism and am very triggered by watching you suffering through this. I had to run to the toilet myself while watching. I cannot believe you would go to such lengths to please us. You are a hero for trying.
My guilty pleasure from my youth. !!
I used to be homeless, I turned my life around, have a fantastic job, a house, but back in the day I would welcome tinned burgers 😅
Well done Mike, happy to hear that, but no need for this level of rubbish food, the homeless suffer enough.
In the 60s, Westlers used to manufacture premium hot-dogs selling direct to the fast food trade but clearly they have gone down the toilet in the past 50 years - about the same time for opening one of their tins. Westlers lost their way many years ago after being manufactured by Malton Foods in Malton, near York. I rather think, this is the company my friend worked at who told me they ran one batch of tins of human food then half way through they changed the labels to dog food - same food/ingredients, different labels.
Westlers are now owned by Zwanenberg in the Netherlands and remarkably two of their UK brands are Plumrose (a Spam clone) and Chicken Tonight (sauce). The rest of their fayre suggests they are competing for who lives at the bottom of the barrel with the equally dire Fray Bentos.
Apart from fish (tuna, salmon, sardines, anchovies), soups and beans, everything else that comes in tins seems to be sh1t, irrespective of who manufactures them. Since canning factories are quite complex affairs, I rather think almost all the own label canned goods in all the UK supermarkets are supplied by Princes, Heinz and a few own brand 3rd raters like Zwanenberg.
Deano, your Acting Skills are very Poor.
Wish I was acting. These are minging
That was hilarious to watch, the burger looked radioactive. What did it taste like ? Surely you could of given us an idea of the taste apart from disgusting.
It's about all most people can afford to feed a family in this country ( CHEAP FOOD ) 😭
They're not cheap
@@karenspencer7678 a tin between 6 people 🤔 it's a cheap meal 🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️🍽️
You can get a bag of pasta and a pasta bake sauce for this money. Absolutely no need to buy this crap.
@@roberttaylor9296 one meal covered 🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝🍝 🤔 now just the rest of the week to think about.
I watched another review of this product from another TH-camr , his childhood favorite , ate a couple with the gravy , one on a bun with ketchup and one on a bun with a slice of processed cheese, game changer I think was his replied , loved them.
I remember back in the late 70's opposite the regent pub by kirkgate market in Leeds there was always a catering van selling burgers and hotdogs late at night after the pubs closed. The bloke who sold the delights always had a runny nose and the dripping snotlets used to land in the trays of burgers and hotdogs 😮.They used to taste good, especially after a few beers 😜. Interesting review 👍.
🤢🤮 some things should never be made and a burger in a tin is definitely 1 of them. I'd wouldn't give this to a dog never mind a human, poor Deano, fair play going in for a second bite.
Lol. Best laugh I've had in ages. I remember these burgers. Even if prepping for a shelter I think I'd swearve them. Hopefully you get to taste something better next time
Glad you enjoyed it
Bloody hell ! How long was that pan on the heat before you put the burgers in ? 😀
Funniest taste test you have done. I couldn’t stop laughing.
Glad you enjoyed it Baz
in the 70s and 80s these used to sell by the 1000s on fairs all over the uk bet they dont sell 100 a month now
Score Out of 10....... Zero!! LOL this made me laugh
I remember these from girl guide camp nearly 50 yrs ago - I have a tin in the cupboard now, you just reminded me. Bit of mash, mushy peas and tomato sauce and they are ok
You deserve a medal for eating that! I try to avoid mechanically separated meat. 😂
I've had Bread 🍞 in a can once. Super nasty. Deano is the best! Nicely done mate
Oh heck - I remember having tinned burgers just ONCE in my childhood. I think someone gave Mum a couple cans in a Christmas hamper. Nope, not my choice of food! The only meat in a can that I sometimes enjoy is Corned Beef or Spam, but I have to be in the mood to eat either of them! I do recall that the taste and texture of these 'things' put me off trying any other sort of burger (real burgers) until I was 22 years old! That was when I had my first burger from the Golden arches shop! They had THAT much of an impact! Nope, not for me!
Adding - I DO hope your poor dog wasn't up all night dealing with that! My dog has major allergies so had that been mine, it would've gone down the waste disposal, not into her bowl! Hope your gorgeous boy was okay! Cast iron constitution!
Now try a Goblin steak pudding...if they still make them 😂
Plus, that date is a best before date, not an experation date. 😂
Lasts decades 😂
There could be anything in those burgers. Shouldn't be sold.
My mum passed me a tin on the other day ,they've gone in the supermarket charity bin
They look and sound like something that would come out the other end 🤢
I love these ! I have them now and again with chips and peas ! 😀 You don't get much gravy though 😞We've got two tins in our cupboard - bought last week.
I remember someone doing a video of the American whole chicken in a can 🤢🤢🤢 have you seen them? Now they really are grim by the looks x
Great video deano had me and my other half laugh out loud and there's not much doing that at the moment 😅😅😅😅
Glad you enjoyed it
Omg 😱 just watching this made us gag … thanks for sharing 😂…No wander the person that suggested you try it didn’t want to be named lol😂
I should of naned him 😂
HAHAHAHA! I'm crying here, with laughter. HAHAHAHA!
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I thought meatballs looked, smelled and tasted horrendous but them 'burgers'...🤮🤢
I used to have these BOILED by a bloke in a van when I was at school in the '80s. Absolutely foul.
Nah, that's made me heave..
- Sounds worse than the burgers ;)
meeting men in vans at school in the 80s, burger and a quick sausage? 😂😂
Yikes, I bet there's all kind of spleens, windpipes, sinew and gonads in those things... 💀😭
Of course 😂
I remember many years ago Lidl selling these and a mate I worked with at the time eating a tin of these cold after a hangover ! 🤮🤮🤮
I remember these back in the day 😂can’t be worse than a McDonald’s 😂😂😂
i remember them and still
get them deano there not great but mash and mush peas
ian and jen and me cat bebjelina xxx
You need to be demanding extra from TH-cam for danger ⚠️ money 💴
The commitment to your fanatics is commendable Mr Deano ,If I fed those to my 🐶 I would be prosecuted 😂
I don’t imagine Mrs Deano participated in the 🍔 taste test.
No she didn't. Just me. Then the dog
The thing is, that they used be decent 50 years ago in the 70s.... Recipe has been cheapened, now complete crap :)
The gip was priceless!
you took one for the team there Deano. I have seen more yum looking roadkill than four burgers in a tin
Best laugh I've had in ages😂
Glad to be of service 😂
I'm sure my grandad used to make me and my brother eat these . They were like them tinned meatballs if I remember rightly 🤢
These are the equivalent to a cheap (and healthier) late night kebab. Rinse the gravy off, cook in a frying pan with a slice of cheese and the cheapest vinegary ketchup you can find. In a bun it's basically funfair burgers from the 90"s. Westlers used to sell these as a very large can of 24 without the onion gravy. A hotdog in a different shape imo. 😂
Had these a few times when I was at uni. I never had them in buns because of the gravy, but served with chips and beans they were pretty decent!
Straight up dog food 😂
Oh gawd Deano 🤢 you put me right off my lobster thermidor tonight lol😂
Bomb shelter, lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Goblin used to be the name on the tin many years ago, the hamburgers in gravy were really nice. but my friend bought these westlers and she said to me "dont buy them " says it all really . the colour on them dont look good. the goblin ones were a brown colour , lovely with chips
Ahhhh right. Maybe Goblin are the ones I remember
Oh Deano did you get some of that cheese sauce i said that iceland do 3 for £3
Its like gray you just add hot water to it
You gotta try it with some chips
Gravy
I remember my Nan making these for me as a kid in the 90s. Every meal she made was incredibly delicious... except when she made these. Absolutely revolting. I often refused to eat them & it was worth the telling off 😅
Great video by the way!
What was funny was the advert was cat food in the middle before you tryed it. No it looks horrible.
How ironic 😂😂😂
Can you remember coming out of a nite club and getting a burger from the burger van, you can get them from cash and carrys about £20 lush
Playing with fire today Deano. 😅
You know what we have these for Sunday dinner with mash and veg 😊xx nice x
Just try it with mash and veg x
Used to sell these outside football grounds, late 70s 80s. They were muck then!
Ps.They used to be kept hot in a big tray of hot water.
I think the original make was hobgoblin. I had a tin once for a fishing trip they went in the lake!
Ahhhh
I tried these months ago and they gave me a dose of the johnny jitters , and even then the stuff that came out of my bum still looked better than what was in the tin.
What made you get them mate? They we're diabolical in the day!
Dan and I had these once, when we were camping in Weston-Super-Mare. They tasted disgusting, like dog meat. Dan's no 2's smelled of them for a couple of days after. I couldn't eat them and had risotto instead, which was very tasty.
Going to have a 6oz steak burger from butchers shortly, never fancied the tinned burgers, soke things shouldnt be in a can.
Best ever as a kid, they did hot dogs in the cinema to die for
What gets me is they do catering size tins of these “burgers”, so some poor unexpecting punter at a football match or car show is buying them at an expensive price expecting a quarter pounder and getting this!
There not just burgers in a tin they are economy burgers in a tin. Mums choice....yeah if your mum is into child cruelty.🤢
Childline number on the tin 😂
It's funny, because some things are acceptable if tinned - hot dogs, tuna, salmon. These did look rank, though.
Sorry but that made me laugh so much, pleased you enjoyed lol
Cheers Deano. I better stack these up should Pootin come and get us here. Absolute Gross. Best Burgers are ones served by vans outside tube stations after pub closing times. Poor Dog
I'm sorry you got sick! The only people in America I know who can meat are The Amish!🎉 Love your videos. Watching from sunny California ❤
Westlers burgers used to be banging back in the day, the tinned ones were okay but the burger van ones that they stewd in water with onions were next level, they dont do them anymore sadly and the tinned ones are what we are left with, they vile now, Goblin steak puddings you boiled in a pan or microwaved were bang on back then too, Westlers make them now instead and they are absolute rank, there meatballs, soup and other stuff is manky as well, keep clear mate :D
Remember the tinned Ham think you still get it actually
Somewhere there is a Dutch laughing Deano. Those with the gravy are horrendous, but the dry ones with the bun in a tin, are a 3 or 4 in 10, but you can eat them, I saw a guy eating one that was almost 10 years old and the only comment was it tasted like dry dog food... I hope you drank some milk after that to prevent poisoning...
I’m sorry but I laughed like a drain at this…what you do for your subscribers, I take my hat off to you….🤣🤣
Hahahaahaahah funniest one yet this Deano. 😂😂😂.
Also bad result for us Sunday. I was at old Trafford. Absolute shambles.
My guilty pleasure 😂
Football grounds in the 70 mostly London had these 😮
If this doesn't prove the "get what you pay for" of that "10/10 disgracefully priced pasta" vs these
I dont know what will
I thought you reached for an Air-Bag at 14:25. Wash it all down with some Guinness
Mums choice Really? Which mums chose these the mums that cant stand there kids and want them adopted😂
frey bentos take me back to the 70's ... them burgers looked rank
The Westlers name has always been synonymous with awful, chemically enhanced cheap crap
They look like a hate crime
Enough to turn one vegan😂
Should of let Fat Andy review these he is not a wuss
He can crack on with them 🤣
You're very brave to even try that it looks disgusting
Proper funny 😂😂😂 made me gag watching you 😂😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed
Instead of that cook lorne(square sausage) in a pan with onions and bisto gravy seve with buttery mash potatoe
I love them with grated cheese on then the gravy poured on top to melt the cheese each to our own pal 🧀👌😋👍
I vaginally remember burgers in a tin. If I remember write they wasn't good.
I hope that was supposed to say vaguely as that is a very unfortunate typo 😂😂😂
@@JustDeano yes it's the word thing keeps changing my words makes me mad>grrrrrr
sloppy jalopys 🤣🤣🤣
I went hiking in the Pennies a few years back and got lost up there and my stove wouldn't work and this was all I had to eat so I ate 'em cold. Tasted like sh*te but kept me alive so I am forever grateful
Wouldn't give them to my dog full of crap
