    Hey thanks Mr. D Hacks. Useful info, thanks. I was just researching on how to upload models from Blender 2.82 to sketchfab. Didn't know what glTF was. Now I have a better understanding. Thanks again!

    Great video! Just a note, the exporter now works with duplicates (created with alt+D), so you could spare a huge amount of filesize by cloning just a couple of characters in the audience.

    I found a solution for this in blender 2.9, in the settings of material, cahnge blend mode to Alpha Clip, im using for a web gl project and with the default setting the transparency dont work use alpha clip instead.
    and thanks again

    Hey and if you want this video to work for latest blender versions you have to first change to eevee then select the mesh and under the material go to setting and change blend mode to alpha blend...then export to glb/gltf....Thanks.

    How do you edit the lighting for gITF? I’m having trouble where there is some default light source in my GLB file. No clue where it’s coming from

  • @mangodjur

    If this doesn't work you can change from alpha clip to alpha hashed in material settings, I don't know why that works but it worked for me.

  • @kenzorman

    Your file size increase could be from using the 'png' option. jpg compression is much much better than png. I think the 'automatic' option uses a mix of png an jpg files based on the original image formats. glb and gltf files seem to use the native compression of the original image file . So you can reduce the glb / gltf file size by compressing your jpg files before you load them into blender.

    Is it possible to export alpha information to gltf? Such as I added a Voronoi texture link to alpha to make it like an LED screen dotted texture however the dots doesn't show up at the final export. THanks

    Hello,
    I updated my name because it was saying something else, and my email, username and password. The system took it, and when I tried to log back in its, saying the username or password was not valid. When I tried to update my password it would give me an Error message. I have purchased an exam bundle and I don't want to lose it. Please help.

    Hey, great video! Just a quick update, this doesn't work in Blender 2.83 anymore, but here's the solution:
    PNG textures are not accepted anymore, so you either plug in the color of another texture into the alpha, or slide down the Alpha value.
    Also, you need to scroll down to the material Settings > Blend Mode > Alpha Blend

    • @huh2275
      @huh2275 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you explain what you mean by plugging in the color of another texture? Like do you mean add another of the same image texture node, but place the color onto the alpha?

    • @anficyon
      @anficyon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      im using blender 2.83.2 and the tutorial works, with a png with transparency, and no other change in the shader options

    • @frankerzed973
      @frankerzed973 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@huh2275 since alpha is not supported, you'd have to use another texture, or another grayscale color for the transparency

    I am trying to import this into Unity, but it's not appearing in my all-files assets, when i try to import. Do you have any idea why that is? I'm a noob when it comes to this type of thing possibly lol. If this is very dependent on many other things besides copying this tutorial, nvm

      unity have their own shaders, there is a option to change from opaque to mask in the shader information tab
