    My grandfather was a piano tuner. He was blind and used tuning forks. This was such a great video. Thank you. I was too young to appreciate what he did and never had a chance to watch him. I neither played at the time or had an interest in learning. Now that I’m learning as an adult, I so wish I could go back and watch him and ask questions. Thank you again and please thank LJ for giving me a glimpse of what my grandpa did.

      I never paid attention to time, but it feels like about an hour to an hour and half.

    This was very helpful. My question is instead of by ear, why not measure 1st and 3rd strings using the piano meter at the same frequency as the middle string?

      Good question.
      My understanding is that the most accurate tuning is not always the best sounding tuning. Tuner can help you get to the right pitch quickly with visual aid, but it the technician's ears that make the final decision considering many other factors. A tuner also cannot tell issues like hammer not striking all strings at the same time.
