Its my favourite solo ever. Marty is genius player. And i am saying it from Metallica fanbase. Mine TOP 3 1. Tornado of Souls 2. Free Bird 3. Master of Puppets/One
@@MrFEFmanthis is true, he did it in one shot and literally made it up as he went along. That's why nobody has ever recorded a 100% accurate cover of it, it can't be done
@@tomasv961 Marty never plays it identical twice! Watch his interviews, he said that playing the same stuff non-stop is boring, people come for a unique live moment so give them that!
This line-up of Megadeth (Dave Mustaine, bassist David Ellefson, guitarist Marty Friedman and late drummer Nick Menza) truly captured Lightning in a bottle ⚡ with this album in 1990 - 'Rust in Peace' 🔥🤘🤘 Megadeth continued to dominate the 90's with 3 more Mega-albums: 'Countdown to extinction' (1992)... 'Youthanasia' (1994) and 'Cryptic Writings' (1997)... which were their biggest albums to date. It was a pity that drummer Nick Menza was fired in 1998...and passed away in 2016. Guitarist Marty Friedman pushed Megadeth into more radio-friendly, electronic music on the album 'Risk' in 1999 before leaving the band. Megadeth was unable to replicate that success w/ their 2001 album 'The world needs a hero'... and disbanded in 2002. Dave Mustaine formed a new Megadeth in 2004 and carried on.
Cryptic Writings was a very divisive album and sold relatively poorly compared to previous output. It even sold less than So far so good, and Peace sells. (it only achieved gold, and everything from Peace sells had achieve platinum, with Countdown reaching 2xplatinum).
according to dave, lars ulrich encouraged him to "take a risk", and that was why risk sucked. maybe dave just hates lars and thought it would be funny to blame him. also the world needs a hero is a pretty good album. it has a couple duds, but it was my favorite post countdown to extinction.
A lot of people argue that Friedman's solo in this song is one of the best solo's in modern music history. I have to say, I get a tiny bit choked up seeing someone be blown away by it, the same as I was when I 1st heard it, over 30 years ago.
I got the Rust in Peace CD from my uncle when I was a kid, just being shaped by the world, learning what music was and what music was good. This is good, nay, this is great music.
I played this song with my band in my high school year. This very song is the first one I knew from the band, and made me a big fan. Such a nostalgia listening to it again here in your channel 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
I started playing when I was 11. I’m 36 now. I used to play this (with a lot of other covers) to stay sharp. I play lead guitar and this solo is one that got me ready to the stage! Keep practicing 🤘
As a bass player, you might really like Megadeth's 'My Last Words'. It's an older song from 1986 with a different sound than what you get with "Rust in Peace". 'Mega' bass on that song.
As a guitar player, it hurts me that Marty Friedman records this fucking solo and then he's like "eh, I don't really like metal that much" and leaves Megedeth.
I always look for ToS video reactions, specifically for the solos -- just to get the reaction when they hear the best solo in metal, PERIOD! You're welcome!
Marty Friedman is still the best on this song. He's in Japan now and is a regular member of the "Rock Fujiyama" channel on youtube, so it's fun to get weekly updates.
Saw them play this song live on their Cryptic Writings tour. Got to hang out with Mustaine for a while before the show. He is really cool, and really funny. Amazing show. Got his and Marty's autographs on Megadeth cards and still have the ticket stub.
Cool story, I'm jealous wish I could've had that experience. I remember going to that tour. I saw them 4 times in the 90s, all with Marty. I saw one of Marty's last shows in Vegas at the joint. Didn't realize it was an era ending. I just saw them recently open for the misfits since that show 25 years ago. They were ok, but not the same without Marty.
Let's go back a little. How bout Good Mourning/Black Friday , The Conjuring or Hook In Mouth. Many greats on Youthanasia as well. Hell , their all great.

Marty Friedman is an incredible guitarist this was the first record he played on when he joined he added so much to the sound with his exotic sounding style
I like your guitar stand, but I'm sorry there's only the one. I feel like you need at least another 15 or 16 guitars. The universe (of simps) should get on with that.
My favorite Megadeth solo. Marty Freidman is a fricken monster.
According to a 1990 interview with Marty, he recorded the solo on the fly and had to go back and actually learn the solo for the tour.
Its my favourite solo ever. Marty is genius player. And i am saying it from Metallica fanbase.
Mine TOP 3
1. Tornado of Souls
2. Free Bird
3. Master of Puppets/One
*MORE* Megadeth please!!!

One of the greatest metal songs of all time. The solo is musical perfection. Simple as that.
The greatest guitar solo in the history of guitar solos!!!
Megadeth at their finest, such a tune!
A song that one of the best guitar solos in metal.🎸
Good that Teemu finally does it as it was. Marty is a genius, but he doesn't remember his own solros.
@@tomasv961what do you mean he doesn’t remember his own solos?

This was when they were at their best. Masterpiece of an Album.

That solo is iconic. Too nasty
It's been on my playlist forever..
Greatest solo in metal history. Marty = LEGEND.

Marty Friedman & Jason Becker from Cacophony are the best duo shredder band ever.
I agree
As a bass player, you might really like Megadeth's 'My Last Words'. It's an older song from 1986 with a different sound than what you get with "Rust in Peace". 'Mega' bass on that song.
Effing love that song
Saw them on this tour thirty plus years ago and they sounded just like the album but faster they were truly the pinnacle of metal
La mejor banda Megadeth 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😎😎😎😎
As a guitar player, it hurts me that Marty Friedman records this fucking solo and then he's like "eh, I don't really like metal that much" and leaves Megedeth.
@IconicW4rriorbut can still step in on a random Tuesday and nail this solo cleaner than anybody.
He was into the Japanese stuff even before Megadeth. His solo album Dragon's Kiss before Rust on Peace is awesome.
I'd hazard to guess that ego had a helluva lot to do with it.
This solo was done on the fly in one take.
Didn't know that Joe Biden posed for a Megadeth album cover back in the day.....😂😊
He did a bunch for iron maiden to lol
Sideshow Bob with the blistering guitar solo.
Watch him become a gyaaaad is up next.
I listened to Megadeth while I rode my bike to school as a kid. I always liked there cover art with Vic Rattlehead.
Now you know the BEST METAL SOLO EVER!
The two best solos I can think of in Metal is the one here. And then the one from Demonaz's Under The Great Fires. It kicks in at 3-44 into it.
I always look for ToS video reactions, specifically for the solos -- just to get the reaction when they hear the best solo in metal, PERIOD! You're welcome!
Megadeth - *Angry again* please 😎
Welll done love the old music from ancient AUSTRALIAN nutter 😂😂
Marty Friedman is toooooo much
could not agree more with previous comments. Thrash Metal
One of the best solos in Heavy Metal Ever 👍
Arguably the greatest guitar solo ever written.
Marty Friedman is still the best on this song. He's in Japan now and is a regular member of the "Rock Fujiyama" channel on youtube, so it's fun to get weekly updates.
Megadeth Kill the King is in my brainhole
Very nice
Should listen to Marty when he was still in Cacophony with Jason Becker.

New subscriber!! This is the first video I watched, but won't be my last 😊😉
Yay! Thank you 😁
If you liked this one, then you should probably give a shot to the whole record. Rust in Peace is the gift the music God blessed humanity's ears with.

You should do a reaction to Tina S cover of this song. It's a masterpiece of vibrato and harmonics. Her solo will melt your face off.
Am I the only one that found that "Hell yeah" at the start of the bridge kind of hot?
Megadeth, siempre le dio mil patadas a metallica 😂
Amen

That's your daddy's Megadeth. Try The Conjuring on Peace Sells.
Not gonna lie, not one of my fave Deth songs, but that said, there is no such thing as a bad Deth track.
Wow your only 35 years late Wow your so behind on MEGADETH!!!! They RULE !!!
I like your guitar stand, but I'm sorry there's only the one. I feel like you need at least another 15 or 16 guitars. The universe (of simps) should get on with that.
Megadeth fans know this. What is the purpose of this video? Clicks?
Please turn down your mic, or up the volume of the track.
You're playlist is going to get really full once you start going down the Megadeth rabbit hole. Be preapared.
Megadeth better than Metallica
