The attack on titan ending 2 actually flat out showed the three daughters eating Ymir in the ending and it only NOW got explained. Isayama is playing 5d chess rn.
He went into the future and warned his past self about his original ending not being the way, so he changed it in his present form.
And I'm damn sure, about the attack on Marley, since it was clearly shown in the same ending.
The endings are basically spoilers without context
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 I bet this used to be the last chapter before when everyone "died" in his original version
At least the part about yimir
In Ilse's OVA, Isayama show us the tree..
A few things I noticed.
1) Yimir suffers from Stockholm syndrome. She had the power to kill the king and become the ultimate ruler but because of her Stockholm she is too loyal.
2) she had the power to heal but this power only works when people have the will to live. Since she did not have the will to live her body did not heal itself.
3) Yimir is not Eldian. We can see that the king conquered her village and took her captive. So modern day Eldians like Eren are actually half Eldian and half what ever Yimir ancestry is. It would be mind blowing if Yimir is actually marleyian.
4) Yimir had in her the 9 Titan powers. These 9 powers were divided and inherited by her daughters. So each daughter probably inherited 3 powers. Then when these daughters died their 3 powers were then split among Yimir's grandkids.
#3 is very interesting.
Well, Eldian in their world is universally accepted as people who can turn into titans so...it doesn't matter what Ymir was originally was.

Merciless Freak Who's better then in your opinion ?
So much to unpack with this chapter. Even just the symbolism from the title. The first chapter: To you, 2000 years from now Ymir is addressing Eren (think of her writing him a letter) while this chapter is Eren "reading" the letter from Ymir, hence the title From you, 2000 years ago. That reading of course is him seeing how everything came to be. Interesting note that the versions of Ymir's history that were told were not technically wrong but, like most stories/myths passed down, they tend to go to the extreme.
It makes you wonder if everything Kruger was telling Grisha was really just Eren relaying those memories to him.
@@Kunumbah1 It could be, to show that Ymir wasn't just some girl who helped Eldia attack every other nation. I think that's highly likely since Eren has been shown to manipulate the situation so that he was able to be in this position he's in now.
It baffles me how people can disrespect the manga and anime medium for being childish or simple. One can argue that this work can be placed alongside the works of Shakespeare.
aot is the exception, not the rule & not every writer is isayama (genius). there's a lot of garbage out there
The moment you talk about someone like Shakespeare, you are really exaggerating.
But yeah, is just culture. Cartoons were aimed at younger audiences forever, plus other discrimination. Quality has like, 0 to do with it. There's a fuck ton of shitty live series and shit ton of those also aimed at kids, but it doesn't get that same rep.
Most manga aren't this level of writing. Trust me, there's a reason it gets clowned.
@@biggestbullsfan8569 never said every manga was at this standard.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 never said that every manga was of a high standard. The same can be said for movies and tv shows outside of the animation medium.
This chapter was amazing. So the Marley was right about Eldia attacking the world. And Grisha was right about Ymir also building roads and bridges.
And in End3 of the anime it shows her daughters eating her
It's the ending of season 2 not 3
@@maduaksteven ending of season 2 is the third ending of the whole anime bruh
@@maduaksteven There's an ending for each 'cour' or batch of 12-13 episodes. S1 was 2 cour, S2 1 cour and S3 was 2 split cours. Therefore the season 2 ending would be ending 3, as it was the third cour of SnK/AoT.
Dizrupt ohhh ok
Since Attack on Titan's Norse-inspired, it's been guessed that the floating spine is Nidhogg, the dragon that poisons the roots of Yggdrasil, the tree of life. When the time is right, Nidhogg will join the fight with the Giants against the Gods at Ragnarok.
I remember when this mange was only around chapter 60 and me and some friends were joking about how it's like Norse Mythology. I guess the jokes became reality.
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 Yeah, even though kyojin in Japanese is just "giant person", it's cool to see that Isayama pulls from both Greek and Norse mythology.
Eren lifting the boulder was definitely an Atlas reference and the names like Ymir and Jotunn (Giants) mirror the Norse mythology in the Prose Edda.
An open question that I have is: Is the lighting that accompanies a Titan shift a reference to the Olympians freeing the Cyclops and in return they gift Zeus with the thunderbolts that killed and ended the Titan War
Or
Is a reference to Thor's Mjolnir when he kills the Jotunns despite being half Jotunn himself?
I hope it's a reference to both, that would be awesome.
@@dropkickcorpse I didn't even think about that last, that would be sick!
If we take the creepy spine to be Nidhogg then the eagle which sits at the top of the tree would be Eren, as eagles usually represent freedom and Eren even has the Wings of Freedom on his uniform.

But is it Isayama or EREN telling Isayama how the events will be played out?
ItzzRaay hell yeah!
Sam Alexander dundundun😱
@FATE I'm starting to think so much more about that line because when you really think about it, no one in particular actually started the story. Not Eren, or Grisha, or even Kruger. Not even Ymir. She only got her powers by chance, walking into the tree when she was on the verge of death. No devil to make a deal with, just a random freak accident. And because of this, she is exactly like Eren, given the responsibility of changing the world while only wishing to be fairly normal, doing what they needed for themselves. But unlike Eren, she was always forced to think for the King, never acted for herself, which made her will weak. Eren was given the capacity of free thought and made a goal for himself early on into his life, primarily to kill all the titans in the world. Then one day his dad makes him a titan and he's left to figure the rest out on his own. At that very moment, was when his free will disappeared and he became the slave of something much larger then himself, like Ymir when she walked into that giant tree. "You started this story" is actually really ironic when everything that's even happened, happened for little to no reason.
@Merciless Freak hahahaha why u have to say the same shit about eren?
Zeke: Ymir can't be stopped
Eren: "uses hug"
It's super effective!
So this is the reason why Ymir started to dominate.
Before being a Titan she saw a world of darkness and suffering. She felt what it was like being a slave to someone, being tortured everyday. Eren has a simillar heart with her.
i guess eren kruger was right all along.
ymir didn't make a deal with the devil nor was she blessed by the gods. she came in contact with the source of all living things, and that's how she got the power.
@AW259 yeah, that makes sense why the devil gave ymir the fruit.
get it ?
seed of the apple ?
no?
ok.
This chapter gives us many answers.
Most important thing is to understand, how titan power works? and how it came to be?
Until now we know about ymir, only through history books, marley perspective and eldians perspective though grisha. But there was another perspective in play as well, it was kruger's perspective. Or was it?
How can kruger know the truth, when other people don't.
It's simple it was because of eren that he knew the truth, kruger even said,, one successor said that,, ymir was a little girl who came into contact with source of all organic matter,,, that successor kruger was talking about, was eren fuckin yeager, and eren is the only person we know of who saw the truth.
After getting chased by dogs and getting arrowed by King's people, she just end up close that tree and
In that tree, ymir just coincidentally came into contact with source of all organic matter, and became the titan.
And i think its perfect, its fit with the theme of aot, no one is almighty in this story, not even the one character we believed for so long to be goddess. She is not the god or devil's pawn.
Nahh she is actually the most tragic character of this story.
I don't wanted to know about, how ymir gained her powers but its fine if its important for the story.
Marleyans were right and wrong at the same time and same with eldians.
Eldians oppressed marleyans that was the truth but ymir wasn't a pawn of devil.
And
Ymir did help in cultivation of land, build bridges in mountains but she wasn't a goddess, she was just a slave to a cruel king, who only saw her as tool and nothing else.
The point of this whole ymir's story was, for us readers to remember, what this story is about?
,, fighting against the cycle of oppression which shackles humanity from being free,,,
That's what eren is doing btw, when he says he will end this world.
It can definitely mean destruction of world but that's not it.
Eren wants to end this cycle, to end this cruel world, and rebirth of new world free of oppression, history and the titan power.
These shackles are result of history repeating itself because these shackles are passed down children to children over and over again.
That's why in flash back every character including ymir has their eyes blacked out which symbolises ,ignorance.
And eren said it,, ignorance is the enemy of freedom,, true freedom lies with choice,,
Eren's philosophy is that,, everyone is free because they are born into this world,, they have the freedom to choose,,
Everyone has the right to fight for their freedom, and that's really important.
,,if other people trying to steal freedom, i won't hesitate to steal there's,,
People will think, oh! Its dark, eren is evil.
But that's far from truth.
Ymir didn't fight back for her freedom, she gave in to oppression and we all know the end result.
The tragedy of 2000 years for her and the world.
If she had decided for herself, and didn't chose to follow the fuckin King's orders.
She would have used that power to help others for sure cuz she was that kind of person. The titan power wouldn't have divided like it did and maybe this cycle of oppression could have been stopped.
But that's not her fault, cuz everyone is slave to something and everyone is burden by something, most of the time it wasn't on their own free will.
It always others people or their environment that pushed them into hell.
Karl fritz also said through frieda and it was reference to ymir herself,, humans are far to weak against the immense powers, someone must kept this power from human hands, if this power goes to
'' weakling '' once more, this world will turn into hell once more,,, when karl fritz said 'weakling' he was talking about ymir.
She wasn't strong willed person who can decide for herself and in result this world turned into hell we know off.
But eren is different, we know how strong willed he is, he is not a weakling.
He can make his choices by taking the burden of that choice.
And finally he made ymir realise that too.
He gave her the words she wanted to here the most for 200000 years.
She is free to choose, it really was emotional and strong and we saw ymir snapping out of her ignorance which symbolise by showing her eyes.
Beautiful iseyama, you mad lad you know how to use symbolism in story and make it impactful.
I am speechless.
Now my strong believe is Ymir is Historia's daugther somehow (reincarnation) and Eren telling her is now free actually relates to the very last pannel.
Still that could mean they destroyed the world or ended with all this titan suffer shit, as Isayama said a few months ago he had ''a dark final'' in mind but he have changed his opinion as the story was developing
I’m not sure how Iseyama will explain it. But I think that entire tree was put there on purpose. And that spine floating in the water was part of that tree. Knowing the author, nothing is random I’m this series.
It's part of Norse Mythology. This story was inspired by it from the beginning when Eren woke up under a tree. Signifying the beginning of a new world.
Don't think they will explain it tbh probably will be left ambiguous
In many of the old creation myths the world is created from the body parts of a god who either died or was killed. So that spine could be part of a God whose body was used to created the world. It makes sense and is consistent with the world of attack of Titan. Remember how they would say that Yimir came into contact with the source of organic life.
@@mayukhpramanik8603 Your genius level thinking something I could never do. Humor and I know am completely utterly utterly wrong and delusional. Could argue that it's the tree of life lending it's power to Ymir. I mean, the titan realm we see has the outline of a giant tree. The other theory behind Ymir's power was that she came in contact with the source of all life.

@Merciless Freak Does nonsensically pissing on another person's work somehow alleviates your frustrations for being untalented scum?
It's the 1st time for a non-royalty to access the paths, and someone with at least average intellect would be able to deduce from there that Eren was able to communicate with Ymir beyond the boundaries of a slave & master relationship, but I guess even simple deduction will be too complex for an autist incel like you.
Because Ymir never met anyone like Eren, she has to wait 2000 years for someone like Eren to show up, who is freer than anyone, who cannot be restrained or contained by any bullshit ideology, who will literally kill others if those people want to take his freedom away, who is not affected by the royal bloodline or the royal ideology. Zeke thought that no one can stop Ymir because he never has the ability to think from Eren's point of view, he is never really free from the beginning to be able to say things to Ymir like a human to a human. He only thought of her as a tool just like all the Fritz kings so that's why he would not be able to move Ymir like Eren could.

If you’re wondering what that tree was it holds a deeper meaning here. Quoting someone who phrased it very well:
“Yggdrasi tree which is an immense mythical tree that plays a central role in Norse cosmology, where it connects the Nine Worlds (guess how many titan shifters we have in this series)
According to Norse mythology, the entire world is in fact a tree at the center of the universe, Yggdrasil is a gargantuan living ash tree with branches extending above the heavens and a trunk strongly latched into the ground by three great roots and Yggdrasil tree is also called Tree of Life because it contains all the worlds and represents the cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth. So attack on titan basically follows Norse mythology.”

According to Norse mythology, the entire world is, in fact, a tree at the center of the universe, Yggdrasil is a gargantuan living ash tree with branches extending above the heavens and a trunk strongly latched into the ground by three great roots and Yggdrasil tree is also called Tree of Life because it contains all the worlds and represents the cycle of birth, growth, death, and rebirth. So attack on titan basically follows Norse mythology, all credit goes to Rura for telling me about this.
This was from the comments in the readsnk website
The creepy spine being Nidhogg, the dragon/serpent that poisons the roots of the world tree and will join the jotunns(giants/titans) in Ragnarok.
The eagle which sits at the top of the tree being Eren, as eagles usually represent freedom and Eren even has the Wings of Freedom on his uniform.
That would make Zeke Ratatoskr, the squirrel which relays conversation between Nidhogg and the eagle and tries set them against each other, as Zeke is the one which allowed Eren to come into contact with Ymir.
I think that eren will do something with historia, or historia knows what's going on in this episode thru Ymir or something like that, first this chapter began with Historia's sister telling her a story and then Ymir story was compared to Historia's. The diferrents drawing of her forced to bear children , to not be free of her decision, etc. The spitch of eren at the end to Ymir was the same as the one he did to historia. That's an idea but Historia might be the key to help eren to his plan "destroy the world" and we know that eren and historia like each other
Well they're friends, aren't they?
@@jeune571 since the beginning the author clearly show that they are more than that
@@AntoninNguyen You act like Eren act like that just with Historia. He's like that with everyone. His comrades mean everything to him that's why he wants them safe and sound.
But Historia looks like a slave that can't decide what she wants. Ymir told her the same thing when she was alive. She's royal blood and she is important to the story.
@@jeune571 ❤
@@jeune571 the scene when eren and Historia talk about the children didn't make any sense but tell us that eren and histoire have more than that, purhaps it's just a useless scene and it was, my bad
What you said at the end may be true. Classic premise of 2 enemy’s joining forces to fight a bigger threat. Reminds me of the movie Watchman. The enemy reached a treaty because of a bigger threat that they both feared (Dr. Manhattan).
“Ope ad be careful there guys” too true😂😂 got this whole ass “fuck yeah” of a chapter but mom only gonna notice the ad smh
Eren really went from midoriya to a man on mission, sacrilegious character development the writer is a genius
And from a man on mission to half midoriya
In my opinion, snk's story is based in norse mythology. Ymir Fritz was based on Ymir, the giant, who was created from the drops of water. The tree that she saw is the Yggdrasil tree of life where nine worlds are connected to it.
There's coincidence

if eren save ymir who creates titan's body and she reborn as historia's child,
no one creates titan and all eldian became nomal human
and last panel ”you are free" , eren tell historia's child(ymir).
Which last panel?
@@karennhq2 japan tv program in November 2018
isayama showed the panel that he is planning to use at last.
th-cam.com/video/74sybPAgq-g/w-d-xo.html
He didn't say who were that but i thought that were "Grish and Eren" or "Eren and someone's baby". After chapter 122, i think that are "Eren and historia's baby".
He said he might change last panel. But i believe he use that panel.

CAN'T WAIT FOR CHAPTER 123!!!!😁
The moment of truth is near !!! We get to see Ymir’s backstory . I can’t wait to see this episode Sunday !! A lot of people better prepare to be mind blown because this is when shit really goes down !!!!
When she see's the tree she walks into it and falls off a cliff into a body of water, and the spine attached it self to Ymir
cant wait for people to react this in anime
The first chapter is to you, 2000 years later
My man just casually scrolling past a giant spine creature attaching to her lmao how you miss that first time
Gabi must've have been like: " What the fuck did i just did?!"
Ayo im the guy that DMd you about this lol sick reaction and Isayama has solidified himself as the greatest manga writer of all time (imo)
Vigilante my dude thank you!!

Thanks for putting the title for us non manga readers

Marley looks more like Greeks.
Eldians=germans

look that armor and horns
in present they are germans..but in past not.
Marley has to have calculated that the attack on Paradis could trigger the rumbling, they have to have some idea of what they would do since they have been planning around it.
maybe i wrong , but Marley did´t know what Zeke has royal blood
Powerful chapter. So many words were spoken through panels without words.
damn, it just shocks me to know that Isayama had all this planned ever since chapter 1.
the man's a fucking genius y'all.
Damn Eren man! So badass with that other Attack Titan's power!
So the original nine titans shifters come from 3 original ymir's daughter, each daughter give birth to 3 children, so the power titan shifters only come from original ymir's power
And now these 3 daughters (walls) give birth to the rumbling
@@werfgh1 that needs more explanation, maybe next chapter will explain
Have to remember that the king who enslaved ymir isnt the same king fritz who renounced war
Hajime showed us how messed up our history can be, it might be twisted, but i'm with Eren from the start and even now, Just imagine Earth Rambling in animation, chills
Back to anime season 1 finale, the berserk Eren said “I will destroy the world.” There is no such line in original manga. Now, we know what it means. It is the memory from the future. I think the Titan in next chapter may be in berserk mode.
That scene with the child nom-noming on their mom is the scene in the season 3 ending song
3:24 that was funny😂
11:36 "ThO WoOoLs!!!"
Leonardo Smith 😂😂😂😂😂
If you think about it; the Titan powers coming from the sap of an ancient tree makes so much sense.
How in the actual fuck does that make sense?

I really and freaking love Attack on Titan storylines so much. I feel like in my whole life I have never read such a kind of extremely unique story like this before. Everything that Isayama creates is just so well organized and well planned in a brilliant way. Hollywood stories are good, but, to me, Attack on Titan has a much better story. After reading chapter 122, I feel something special in my mixed emotions deeply.....I had grown to love the Eldians since the beginning, but their ancestors were poured evil. I love how Isayama tries to show us that there are good such races that are perfect. That does not mean that Eldians have no right to live 2000 years later. Moreover, Isayama tries to tell us that to make something true, all people have to do is to believe. I can't wait for the anime. Isayama will make the end of Attack on Titan for us to remember for the rest of our lives.
Everybody gangsta till Eren pulls out an Eren
And all of this happen because someone let the pigs free
Honestly Isyama could make a spin off manga just explaining all the old world stuff with ymir in great detail.
Notice the 13 hands pointing at ymir
We need more of your reactions man. But if you can’t upload them for a specific reason then that’s fine too.
Is Ymir possibly a Marleyan too? Coz on a panel it shows the slaves tied up. Slaves are from the places they conquer, right? They also cut out their tongues, so that's why Ymir doesn't speak at all. Though her tongue should have regenerated when she became a Titan.
It just shows that both written history is true. Bcoz Ymir did cultivate the land, but she was also used to conquer Marley.
Love all the Norse Myth references too. Yggdrasil, Nidhogg, 9 realms, the nornirs.
9:32 YO WELLS! How did you miss that those were the 8 titans standing in that panel??? (Coordinate wasn't there).
The Legacy of Gaming completely missed that! Wow
