- Ophelia Burden, an earth and space sciences major in the College of Arts and Sciences at Stony Brook University, is a 2024 Velay Fellow. Her project, “A Luminescence dating study of Pleistocene-Holocene sediments in the Southern Kalahari, Botswana” is under the mentorship of Dr. Marine Frouin, Department of Geosciences.
