1 Thessalonians 5:2-3-4 - For you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.

In WWI the Ottoman Turkish Empire was defeated and beginning in 1917 Britain and France took over their middle eastern territories
The Original Palestine that was taken over and controlled by The British contained todays Jordan, the Sinai Desert, North Lebanon and everything on the West-Bank of the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea
In 1917 the British Government issued The Balfour Declaration, as a declaration of sympathy for the establishment of a National Home for the Jews in Palestine and The British Government would use their best endevours to facilitate the establishment of a National Home for the Jews in Palestine.
At least one good reason for this was the fact that in 1914 13% of the population of “Old Palestine” was Jewish and the Authorities believed there should be a national settlement for all of the indigenous people of Old Palestine
The Balfour Declaration was given UK Parliamentary Sanction in 1922 with the Passing of the Churchill White Paper, then following this it was given International Sanction by the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, also in 1922
The League of Nations Mandate for Palestine required Britain to lead Palestine to Independence and implement the Balfour Declaration

In 1921 Britain “cut out” of Old Palestine and created The Emirate of Trans-Jordan, todays Jordan, this was a Nation State created and established by the Mandate for the Palestinian Arabs to live in. Jordan was given formal Sovereign Independence in 1946 by the UN
The Sinai Desert was given to Egypt
The last remaining piece of “Old Palestine” was west of the River Jordan up to the Mediterranean Sea, this included the City of Jerusalem, it is in this last remaining part of Old Palestine that the Jewish people built their Jewish Home according to the authority given to them by the League of Nations und under the protection & facilitation of The British, under this Mandate the Jews built roads, bridges, ports, homes, schools, hospitals and they cultivated land & created Farms. The Jewish people established a nascent State
Beginning in 1945 after WWII, it was felt by the British that their “best endevours” had been exhausted and that the League of Nations Mandate had run its course, it was now time for these parts of the middle east to become independent Sovereign States
The UK gave the entire issue of Palestine to the UN for the UN to decide what should happen with the last remaining part of “Old Palestine”
In 1947 the UN proposed to Partition the last remaining piece of “Old Palestine” Some territories were offered to the Palestinian Arabs and other territories were offered to the Jewish people. They were offered to these two groups to allow them to form an Independant Sovereign Nation State for their own people
The Jewish people accepted the territories that were on offer to them from the UN and in 1948 they formed a Sovereign Nation State and voted to call it Israel, the UN recognized the Sovereign Nation State of Israel in 1948
The Palestinian Arabs did not accept the territories that were on offer to them in 1947 and these territories remain disputed territories, they are a/ The West Bank b/ The Gaza Strip. It must be understood that today these are not recognized as Palestinian Arab territories they remain as disputed territories, because they have never been formally accepted by The Palestinian Arabs
It is also imperative to understand that within the so-called Palestinian-Arab territories there was/is a great Jewish population living in these areas. Example, in the West Bank there is a huge Jewish population living in this disputed territory, they live there today under Israeli protection and with Israeli support. Today, there is also a great number of Palestinian Arabs living inside the Nation State of Israel, they live there with Israeli protection and support
In 2011, The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accepted that the greatest single historic mistake of the Palestinian Arabs was that in 1947/48 they failed to accept the territories that were offered to them from the UN and use these territories to form a State
