Very much enjoyed this rendition and I appreciate you singing all the verses. Never heard this tune before but now it's my favorite choice for this hymn.
I owe you one for recording 14 verses. I love it, and had never heard it. I'm an Episcopal music director. Will be singing it tomorrow. Forgot til just now, but 14 verses later and I got it.
This is one of my favorite hymns. I am so happy to find a recording in which all of the verses are sung. I am all the more happy to hear Seth sing it with such sensitivity and grace. Thank you for sharing this with us, Seth ❤.
@isaaczika528 I am not sure which makes me happier--you liking my version of this song, or just getting a friendly message from you out of the blue. Double the thankfulness on my end! I hope you are well!
Ive been searching for a version of this hymn that I could actually enjoy listening to and I've finally found it... You really nailed this one! Thank you, Sir!
I hadn't known this hymn before and was looking for the tune to see if our congregation might know it. Thank you for a lovely rendition. I was pleased to see the Hangul beside your name - Korea is beautiful country. I hope you're not affected by the bad storms at the moment.
Thank you for listening and for your kind words. Yes, Korea is my second home and I love Korea. The weather has been very intense the past week, and there have sadly been deaths related to the flooding. We are doing ok, in our home, and thank you for your concern.
I think it is the only poem by Charles Wesley in the Oxford book of Poetry. Issac Watts said of it that if he had only written this one hymn! Charles W replied by saying the same of ‘When I survey the wondrous cross’. I used it a service as three hymns with three different tunes. Thank you for posting, beautifully played and sung.
I'm grateful our good Lord lead weary heart to your channel. You have a voice that touches the soul. To hear our LORD Jesus being celebrated is such a beautiful meaningful way is deeply inspiring a big thanks to you. May He bless you in all your endeavours. You honour Him and may that infuse in every part of your life will He loving kindness towards you and all those you and those you meet ago life's high way.
You might have heard this before (?) but your music and this track in particular, reminds me of David Eugene Edwards from 16 Horsepower/Woven Hand sometimes.
Thank you for this!! Just what I've been looking for
Thanks for listening!

Sang this as teenager (all the verses - from the "Blue book"). A fantastic exposition of scripture. And what a fantastic rendition!

What an honor--thank you, I have loved Wovenhand for a very long time!
I know a hymn by this name but it sounds different than what you were singing. However what you are singing is lovely.
Thank you kindly! Yes, this hymn has traditionally been sung two at least two popular older melodies, I think maybe several.
