Being in elementary school in the early 90's, I was a massive WWF fan growing up. Randomly I'd find WCW playing on these odd hours like Saturday at 6pm. It was obvious it wasn't as big a production as WWF, but my God they had some talent and it was obvious Sting and Flair were stars. My dream was a Hogan v Sting match.
Through the years, I've realized I'm in the minority, but as a kid and being completely oblivious to backstage politics and not at all "smart" to the business, I freakin' loved 1991 WCW, and Sting was a real life superhero.
Apart from that autograph story, the only time I've heard anything about Sting's ego was from Rick Bassman. He was actually really fond of the Ultimate Warrior and said that Warrior always told him how grateful he was for giving him his start in the business when he saw him but he went to a WCW show around the early 90s and Sting gave him the cold shoulder. He said Sting got an ego really quickly.
The best part of the chamber of horrors match was the comment Tony made when Abdullah got out the chair & started beating up the ghouls when he said, "Well I guess he thought he was in heaven and knows he shouldn't be there!"
the wrestler of the year cover was a big deal. i remember as a kid being a huge wwf fan and seeing the cover at a newstand (remember those days? newstands) and wondering who the hell Sting was. That weekend I was tuning into WCW
If JR isn't a fan of Adam vs Adam, I wonder if he felt the same way about Chris Jericho vs Chris Benoit, or any combination of Ric Flair, Rick Steiner, Ricky Steamboat, or Rick Rude facing off against each other. 🙄
Sting vs Muta should have been Sting's first big challenge in 1990 after he won the NWA world title. They had history from 1989, and Muta won the television title from Sting then...so Muta would have had a great kayfabe reason to challenge Sting and be a threat to Sting's title run.
Even if we never got the chocolate cake story, I'd know JR smokes grass off of how he holds his cigarette. I really want to get him chocolate cake infused with chocolate cake strain cannabutter.
Im done listening to these podcasts. Enough is enough. They have turned into a 2 hour Geico ad with a few minutes of wrestling talk sprinkled in. Conrad is a snake oil salesman
Sting was about the kids and family having a good time. He could wrestle if he was ask to but he was The Hybrid of Hulk Hogan / Ultimate Warrior for WCW. Different Time Different Era Your Garbage 🗑️ Comment is a Waste if Oxygen & Time. Sting will always be a Legend.
Every Saturday I hoped for The Great Muta to appear again. If they did Sting and Muta for the title I would still be marking out!
JR smoking a joint is the greatest pleasure 😂
2:52 jr lights up a joint! Love it
Sting 1991 Begins 10:35
Awesome show. JR is the boss!

They should've introduced the Yettay in a box to get him over.

Sting dominated the late 1980s and 1990s.
Hogan and Flair dominated the 80's
Does the podcast air live? I live in Texas and got up this morning for work hoping to catch it at like 6:30 and it was already over 😂
this has all been covered they really scrapping now come up with topics for these shows.

Huh?
@@chadk890 In referencing Cole vs Page, he said that he wasn't a fan of having main events featuring participants with the same first name.
Howdy guys
I thought it was Gary hart trying not to lose muta was why they never gave him the belt, heard it multiple times on shoot interviews
