A Controversial Haunted Mansion Change Could Be Coming, a Mickey Misfire and a MEGA Parade!

First, we mourn the loss of a legend, Jon Landau passed away this week. Known for his vast film career, Jon was also a big part of bringing Avatar to the Disney parks. We acknowledge his accomplishments and our hearts go out to his family and friends.
In parks news, only a little over a month until D23: The Ultimate Fan Event happens in Anaheim, and Josh D'Amaro rolls out the future of Disney Parks. But in the meantime, permits were filed for trailers near the "Tropical Americas" site at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Will construction begin before we hear more details?
In other news, rumors suggest that Disney is considering removing the hanging corpse from the pre-show at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. Since the attraction will reopen as the Haunted Mansion Holiday later this year, we likely won't know until 2025 if this will be the case. Our panel weighs in on if this is a needed change.
Previews were announced this week for the new Country Bears Musical Jamboree for Cast Members, but also for D23 Members. This hard-ticketed event would allow guests to experience the new show before it opens officially on July 17th. Could this be the beginning of charging guests for soft openings to future attractions?
Over at EPCOT, the lineup for the Eat to the Beat series has been announced for the 2024 International Food and Wine Festival. We run down the acts and share stories of past years' shows.
While Fantasmic has returned to Disneyland after a long hiatus, Mickey experienced a fireworks mishap last week, as more problems plague the show. At the same time, more cuts have been announced for Disneyland entertainment in the wake of Cast Member Unionization. We'll let you know all the changes to expect.
Over at Universal Orlando, they just rolled out a brand new Parade for the Summer called the Mega Movie Parade. This features several of the past favorite properties from the park's history and might be one of the best parades out there!

I really hope Disneyland stopped cutting entertainment. Because what will be left? What will be the reason to go to Disneyland anymore? Or secondary for me because I discovered that if I make the rides a priority, then the day is really bad and it feels like I’m in a museum.
Some of the stuff they're talking about does diminish the magic. Magic Happens and Dr. Strange for 2.
I have two major comments:
1.) I understand why they will like to change Haunted Mansion, however I feel they are oversanitizing. Pirates of the Caribbean change does not change the reality that there were human selling in the high seas. Splash Mountain change, even tough the characters are from Song of the South, it barely makes a reference the timeline of US' s shame in history. The point is when does it end on what triggers people. And going back to Splash Mountain changing to Tiana feels out of place in Frontier Land.
2.) The downsizing of their entertainment. Seriously, why??? I love the character entertainment. Cutting the character shows I feels it cheapens the experience of the parks and makes the park worth less then it was before.
I was a kid when I rode these 2 rides and I turned out just fine. How bout we get rid of all the violent video games that kids play.

It’s extremely disappointing that cutting entertainment is how Disneyland is attempting to make up for the union contract negotiations. It has made so many guests torn between annoyance over missed park experiences and a desire to support the cast members who make the magic. These cast members are shockingly unpaid and can’t support themselves with these time-demanding jobs. They are simply fighting for the ability to keep doing the work they love.
I deeply hope a fair and happy compromise can be reached that allows these cut shows to come back eventually.

One thing I will say is when haunted mansion holiday will it have a new projection of jack and zero in the stretching room because the ghost host hanging is there behind jack and zero but I will be sad if the room him because it makes sense to what walts story anything walt touch shouldn't be touch other than refurbishing the ride to look amazing as it did years ago

@@WDWNTTV I don’t wanna offend anybody that struggles with suicide or a survival of somebody who committed suicide. But I really don’t want another ride to end up like the sensitivity changes on pirates.
Then they should get rid of guns on pirates and also get rid of all alcohol. People die from both often. I had a long time friend die from alcoholism.
Sorry the “I get why it needs to be changed.” Needs to stop. I promise you, every original ride Walt and his team designed will cease to exist if we continue to allow them to make these silly changes that could POTENTIALLY upset the .000001% of people that ride The Haunted Mansion.
