The older I get, the more I admire Andy Dufresne. He is my favorite film hero. We live in rough times. So much suffering, confusion, despair. I watch this film and am inspired by Andy's Indomitable hope.

Andy was a Christ figure. He was a martyr, he gave to his fellow man, and he was resurrected as a free man. His outstretched arms in the rain is the cruxifixction pose; the death of his imprisonment and the beginning of his life unfettered.
