Mr. Florez understands ornamentation (fioritura). One can hear it in his phrasing. Also, he is able to act with facial expressions that complement the music and the drama combined. His is more than a vocalist -- he is an actor and musician. As for Ms. Dessay, she has a naturally beautiful "instrument." She is a natural actress IMO, and of course she has what I believe to be a solid and sound technique. Florez and Dessay are believable in these roles and there is a wonderful compatibility between them.
This opera with glorious Juan Diego Florez 💕💖💕💖💕💖💖❤️💖💕🎶💕💖❤️💖💕and the capricious Natalie Dessay 💕🎶💕🎶💕💕💖💕💕💖💕🎶💕💖is one of my favorites!!! Hearing him one could laugh and cry alltogether !!!! So phantastique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
