I have scored so many paintings, prints and frames from auctions and resold for nice $$$ with the knowledge I've gotten watching your videos! Including finding at a local auction for $13 total, a real rough, stained, torn Renoir Engraving made during his lifetime. I sold for $800. Thanks Lori I look daily for more art/print/frame videos..
I have been for the last 30 or so years an avid frame collector. Even to the point that my husband started throwing fits about my weird collection. One of his friends loves to stir up trouble just by mentioning the frames. I was addicted to it for the longest. If I had a sale, I could hardly turnloose of them. It was a pleasure to let my husband hear this show on behalf of my frame addiction. I have toned it down for a few years now. I love this show.
This is pretty fascinating. My dad is the local fire department historian and as such has acquired a large cabinet photo featuring some of the high ranking officials at the time, circa 1870s. The frame it came with has definitely seen better days and the backing wood for the frame is falling apart and splitting. Thinking of repairing the whole thing to make it look nice and presentable.
I was just binge watching some of your old videos and I'm laughing so hard. That frame with grandpa's print..had me on the floor. That face you made is priceless. Phew I just can't stop rewinding.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dr. Lori, I could watch you all day! You are so funny, full of information and simply beautiful...! What a treat to have inspiration from you this morning, actually made me overflow with motivation and hitting some thrift stores WILL BE FUN FOR MONTHS NOW!
Just went to look at one thing and enjoyed Dr. Lori so much that had a hard time leaving. Definitely saved so I could come back later when have a lot more time. Thank you Dr. Lori
Sooooo, I binge watched about 3/4 of your videos yesterday.....today I went thrifting, to see what I could find with my new knowledge.as soon as I walked into the glass isle, it’s like I had some sort of spidey senses! 😂 no lie! Thank you soooo much for your wonderful videos!

Nice to meet you Stephanie. Glad you enjoy the videos. I'm sure you're right about your Grandmas. Also, let your grandmas know if you like something they have regardless if it's valuable or not. They often don't know and think that you don't like any of their stuff. You'd have to have them throw something away, even if it's a $5 plate and you liked it. 😊

Good question. First, my values are based on actual real sales. Many use my online appraisal reports since the reports include a location where a similar frame was sold.
I was trying to find this video & google searched “Dr Lori age..” & I wasn’t finished typing of frames but it popped up & said you were 119 on Wikipedia lol

Does Dr. Lori wear sweaters in the summer too ? I can tell she's not from the south lol
But the question is who buys these frames? I have a hand carved frame like the first one show. :)
Good question. First, my values are based on actual real sales. Many use my online appraisal reports since the reports include a location where a similar frame was sold.
I have one collection marineile wolfe painting..where i can sell???
My online appraisal reports show a location where a similar piece sold and for how much. People use the reports to help them sell their valuables.
I was trying to find this video & google searched “Dr Lori age..” & I wasn’t finished typing of frames but it popped up & said you were 119 on Wikipedia lol
lol. Wikipedia has had my bio wrong many times. Once they said my Ph.D. was in some sort of sports medicine.
@@DrLoriV Hope I'm not too forward but you look really good for 119.

@4:20 I’m surprised she didn’t comment on the old glass.
Why were you surprised?
@@DrLoriV you are so thorough with your descriptions. I like that old glass and considering the age and possible handling and storage through the years, it’s a wonder it survives. A real plus I think. Very informative videos !
I love old stuff collection . I think I have knoleges just to see how it made and the quality I can see also if there is a value on it . Old stuff is a investment in long run . I just bought a w Zeller painting unoriginal at least I'm pretty sure it's an original because it's pink. Canvas and it's not a print copy but I don't think the frame is worth much I'm not sure though

What if the board is painted on
Can you please offer a little bit more with your question? Do you have a piece that is painted on board? Or painting on a canvas that is attached to a board?
Great..so what do you do if you have a valuable frame...is there people that would buy a frame worth over $500.00...because I wonder were
Yes, my values are based on where I've seen people actually pay my appraised value.
@@DrLoriV
I wonder were a person could sell the frames...Craigslist Kijiji ??
Buyers are everywhere, not just one place.
❤
Cool
interesting
Hello mam, I have a painting more than 100 yrs old , approx 4 to 5 feet size.
I want to sell it but I don't knows its actual price? Can you help me? Pls send me your email id, I will send you the picture of the painting.
Apparently some of the current frame shops think their frames are valuable antiques.
Negotiate!
Does Michael’s negotiate on their custom frames
@@nkystevep7007 Ask them :)
As diverse at it might seem, I learn better with humour so between appraising antiques with Dr Lori, hair care with Dr Brad Mondo and politics/ the fate of humanity with Dr Russell Brand, I think Im good to go............
👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣
