Not to “fake claim” anyone specific, but Kendall you should be highly skeptical of the DID tiktok community. I think a lot of them are confused about what DID is, and it’s more likely that most of them have a different disorder entirely. The symptoms they display, the descriptions of their alters, “swapping” on command, none of it fits the psychological definition of DID. Lots of kids on tiktok self diagnose and are consequently spreading a lot of misinformation.
This. Same with tourettes tiktok and so many other mental ilness/neuro divergent communities. Its so sad that this is a thing where people fake a condition for views, but not suprising.
I was just about to comment this. DID is a serious illness and it's something that shouldn't be taken lightly. It seems like some of the did tiktokers are taking it as a way to cosplay/roleplay as their own original characters instead of an actual illness. It comes from post traumatic stress and as well as a form of bipolar disorder and is very hard to get diagnosed correctly not only that they usually don't diagnose people with it unless they are above the age of 18 and also have to run multiple personality tests to pin point if someone has it. There's so much about DID people don't understand and I hate to see it being used as a trend. I have PTSD that steams from childhood trauma and events that happened to me I wish never did. Seeing people pretend to have trauma and use it as a trend just really gets under my skin.
@@caramelc0rn Right? And autism is a trendy one to self-diagnose right now. Some of the "tics" and "stims" people act out are just blatantly offensive. It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of people who are claiming to have these disorders do have SOME type of psychological issues, you would almost have to in order to behave that way. At the very least it's widespread medical student syndrome. Unfortunately a lot of it probably is for attention, or just mixed up kids searching for some sort of identity. It's really sad.
@@pacmandy The trauma aspect really bothers me, too. I can imagine that actually having a trauma disorder makes this stuff really triggering for you, I'm so sorry. That's one of the reasons these roleplay routines are so harmful. I think the best thing to do is just keep spreading awareness about the facts, and avoid that type of content when you can. It seems to me like this has become a trend, probably stemming from Split (2016) and that Anthony Padilla video last year. Same thing happened with Sybil in the 70's, eventually the trend died down.

I am 41 and tolerated the mental and emotional abuse until I was 36. 🤦🏽♀️ They even attempted to steal my baby by saying I was mentally unstable and all kinds of lies. Fortunately, the courts saw right thru they're bs and gave my child back to me. It still took 15 yrs after that to finally say "enough"!! No regrets and my life has gotten exponentially better. 🥰 So proud of you for taking the steps to save your heart & mind at such a young age. ❤

Literally my Sunday routine they drop the new episode and I have to start getting ready for work. I literally feel like these amazing woman are my besties having a convo with me while I get ready. I love these ladies! ❤️
I graduated from BYU and you can get expelled for having sex so most people just get married really quickly at a young age. I was 19 and my husband and I knew each other for less than a year (no worries though, we've been together 5 years now and we're still going strong). My roommate only knew her husband for 2 weeks before getting engaged. It's uncommon for people to wait more than a year for marriage because they want to have sex lol. You also can't hang out with the opposite sex after midnight or live together before marriage. Those "loopholes" definitely happen but you'll still get in trouble if the church/school finds out. The vegas thing really happened and they all got expelled. The divorce rate at the school is pretty high too because after 6-7 months people realize they don't like their spouses. It's super toxic and a lot of us at the school are fighting to change the honor code for these reasons, or at least get more leniency. I didn't want to get married until I was at least 23 (which is still super young) before I started at BYU, but at 18 years old I was constantly being pressured by the culture to get married and was eventually convinced it was normal.
oh and the opposite sex isn't even allowed in your bedrooms or bathrooms. we have to live in "BYU approved housing" and most, if not all, of the apartments have "chastity doors" which is basically meant to keep the opposite sex out of those areas. It divides the bedrooms/bathrooms from the living/kitchen areas. When I lived in the dorms, boys were only allowed past the lobby for 1 hour each Wednesday and Sunday and the door had to be wide open.

That's one of the reasons these roleplay routines are so harmful. I think the best thing to do is just keep spreading awareness about the facts, and avoid that type of content when you can. It seems to me like this has become a trend, probably stemming from Split (2016) and that Anthony Padilla video last year. Same thing happened with Sybil in the 70's, eventually the trend died down.

If they were my parents I definitely wouldn’t be the person I am now, who is someone who is scared to stand up for themselves. We deserve better but we are good ppl for living w what we had to !!

I am 41 and tolerated the mental and emotional abuse until I was 36. 🤦🏽♀️ They even attempted to steal my baby by saying I was mentally unstable and all kinds of lies. Fortunately, the courts saw right thru they're bs and gave my child back to me. It still took 15 yrs after that to finally say "enough"!! No regrets and my life has gotten exponentially better. 🥰 So proud of you for taking the steps to save your heart & mind at such a young age. ❤

I love how Liza stood up for Gabby and said to David “she is beautiful, shut the camera off”. I think that is very telling of their relationship and that Liza was being serious. She knew David was being a complete a-hole. Gabby was probably truly insecure behind the scenes in a result of David and the Vlog Squads nasty remarks to her, and Liza is a queen for standing up for Gabby.

I graduated from BYU and you can get expelled for having sex so most people just get married really quickly at a young age. I was 19 and my husband and I knew each other for less than a year (no worries though, we've been together 5 years now and we're still going strong). My roommate only knew her husband for 2 weeks before getting engaged. It's uncommon for people to wait more than a year for marriage because they want to have sex lol. You also can't hang out with the opposite sex after midnight or live together before marriage. Those "loopholes" definitely happen but you'll still get in trouble if the church/school finds out. The vegas thing really happened and they all got expelled. The divorce rate at the school is pretty high too because after 6-7 months people realize they don't like their spouses. It's super toxic and a lot of us at the school are fighting to change the honor code for these reasons, or at least get more leniency. I didn't want to get married until I was at least 23 (which is still super young) before I started at BYU, but at 18 years old I was constantly being pressured by the culture to get married and was eventually convinced it was normal.
oh and the opposite sex isn't even allowed in your bedrooms or bathrooms. we have to live in "BYU approved housing" and most, if not all, of the apartments have "chastity doors" which is basically meant to keep the opposite sex out of those areas. It divides the bedrooms/bathrooms from the living/kitchen areas. When I lived in the dorms, boys were only allowed past the lobby for 1 hour each Wednesday and Sunday and the door had to be wide open.
